Please Let's help extinguish dating and intimate violence from a pro-active and preventive standpoint. My personal desire is that every young girl and young man are taught in depth about the nature of abusive relationships as well as how to keeping safe from adult predators, at the earliest possible age!

We have amassed far too much experience in these areas, lets start really teaching our youth, so that they may be empowered with awareness and knowledge as they embark into their lives!

NYPD Cop from Long Island Shot, miraculously survives and recovering

This story is a bit of a better about a NYPD police officer who was shot on the head while on patrol just days ago, and miraculously, he is cognizant and alert asking for his newborn baby to be brought to him in the hospital!

Doctors are saying that David Brennan, just 29 years old, is doing remarkably well after a life threatening gun injury to the back of his head. The young man was just married last year and his baby girl delivered weeks ago. Family and friends are ecstatic that he not only survived but is so alert and speaking lucidly.

He is having pain naturally, but trying to deal with it with medication and lots of prayers from family, friends and the caring public.

Man Accused Of Hammer Attack To Appear In Court - Hartford Courant

I am sorry to report that this story in the Courant also centers around an intimate violence crime that happened several months ago in New Britain and was quite serious.

In this case the man who was wanted for attempted murder and multiple felony assault etc for attacking his ex wife, a new male friend and a female family member who just happened to be at the home, with a hammer.!

The man sustained serious head brain injuries and the two women also sustained serious blunt force trauma from the man beating them with the hammer. All three have had difficult recoveries and continue to need constant medical care. TBI's or traumatic brain injuries are usually permanent, and the results can be devastating to ones daily life.

The charges ranged from attempted murder to assault in the second degree, which I found innapropriate as hitting someone with a hammer should qualify for at the very minimum, assault in the 1st degree ie with a deadly weapon - the hammer.

If not attempted murder for all three victims. It has been my observation that often times police departments are conservative with certain charges in a multiple crime case fearful that just one charge that the court considers inappropriately severe might damage the entire case, or rather damage the chances of obtaining convictions on all of the charges.

I cant say that I am a fan of this practice - it is dangerous in fact as it leaves shorter sentences for crimes of lesser severity than what were actually committed; I am aware of where it stems from and that is the Polices experience with the prosecutorial efforts or lack thereof, and the realistic results of most of the violent crime cases that as first responders, they see the carnage of as opposed to the states attorneys that basically administrate justice in the form of lenient plea deals or even outright dismissals and Nollie's for first second and even third time offenders.

These deals involving no prison time whatsoever are doled out daily in what our states would have us believe are Courts with Domestic Violence specialists. This basically amounts to that particular court having been given grant monies for said domestic violence dockets, grants that were intended to infuse awareness of partner violence and its often life and death consequences, especially if ignored or treated lightly,

In the recent past there have actually been training sessions for Connecticut Police men and women by what amounts to a prosecutorial liaisons that in effect pass on a their own personal brand of misogynistic apathy and frustration for dealing with pardner and domestic violence and thus these police many of them rookies are actually being brainwashed to go easy on the sentencing of anything that can be considered a domestic crime, unless of course three people are almost dead from hammer blows. It is as this point when a weapon is involved and the violence has become life altering and people have been literally maimed that the police at least will take it seriously. It still remains to be seen whether or not the prosecutors handling the crimes will do the same.

My educated guess is that this man who committed these assaults and attempted murders, had a history of arrests, and calls out to the home of former wives and/ or women he was simply dating.

I will also bet that those "brushes" were likely treated lightly in Court, with the man serving no prison time, and quite possibly not even winding up with a criminal record, and or his record ie his convictions if they happened were watered down versions of what he actually committed in terms of severity.

Indeed having a crime like this one, labeled domestic violence does it a distinct disservice, at least in this state, for the victims of these statistically very dangerous crimes.

In this case, this was an ex husband of some duration, who just decided he didn't want his ex wife to be with any man other than him and as such, he would kill or maim her and her new beau, and any innocent other people who happen to be in the house at the time of his attack.

The term domestic violence has become ever widening in this state and this is part of the reason we are seeing this deluge of so called domestic/partner/ex partner crimes. If a woman simply knows the man who assaults or kidnaps her, this crime will likely be placed under the domestic violence docket" which more and more Connecticut courts have installed. And instead of following the national trend, which to take these crimes as seriously or more seriously as their non "domestic counterparts" based upon what this country has learned at both the criminal level the forensic levels and the psycho-social implications connected therein.

Connecticut is actually doing the opposite; there are still too many prosecutors that not only embrace the idea that if an assault is committed by anyone from a boyfriend to a person that a woman once dated or knew, the crimes, no matter the severity of violence should be treated more leniently from a sentencing standpoint and even now they are effectively training our Police professionals to "go easier" with the actual charges that these men are ultimately charges with. There is in fact a completely different scale that exists and it is this mentality affecting the earliest crimes committed by battering men that are being treated with veritable slap's on the wrist, that are leading to these escalating violent assaults and murders by men who have been emboldened by the ease in which they traversed through an apathetic almost apologetic court system.

A deluge of violent crime in Connecticut

Over the course of this one week in the State of Connecticut::

A homeless man was murdered by an insane Florida man

A man was arrested in Trumbull for knocking his estranged wife to the ground and punching the responding police officer in the face and engaging in a violent brawl with the officer and another off duty policeman who happened to be driving by the scene. The man was wanted on a previous warrant for punching the same woman in the face while driving in a car over a month ago.

A clip from a handgun was found in the assailant's pocket and Police finally located his handgun which as a convicted felon as well as a person listed on a restraining order he was not allowed to own, even had the weapon been registered which of course it was not. Three Policemen were injured by the battering husband who was not injured at all.

Two women in Cheshire Connecticut one 18 and another 41 were sexually assaulted by a man who threatened to kill them. Thankfully police later found the perpetrator via the women's descriptions of the man, and traced him to a home in Seymour where he was arrested and the court put a 500,000 bond on the man.

It should be noted that the Trumbull woman who was stalked and slammed to the ground by her husband, who was already wanted for punching her in the face in a moving car and breaking a restraining order was given a 60,000 bond - which equates to 6,000 to a bail bondsman to be freed from jail and back out where statistically many men seek out their wives and attempt further harm or murder in such situations.

One can only assume that this disparity in Bail amount is because this crime was considered a domestic violence crime, and as such our courts or our police do not consider these violent crimes as seriously as violent crime committed by a stranger. In this day and age, with all of the knowledge that we have amassed regarding 'partner /intimate violence, this is simply unacceptable, especially when one considers that domestic crimes account for the majority of female homicides.

Vigil for victim in Bridgeport Homeless Man's murder

This is a heartbreaking story and a classic case of a our States failure to protect it's most vulnerable citizens.. The man who committed this murder was clearly certifiably insane and extremely dangerous; from what has been reported about the crime it sounds as if he is schizoid or one of the many sub-types, and he was walking the streets ( of Bridgeport in this particular case) glaringly belonging in a high security mental facility at the very least.

Signs of schizophrenia and related disorders where people hear voices and cannibalize their victims, show signs of severe mental illness for years before committing a brutal murder on a vulnerable person. The man arrested for this crime was well into his forties, I cannot fathom that he had not come to the attention of Police and or social service mental health agencies prior to committing this horrible crime.

When will our Connecticut state agencies begin to take a pro-active role in preventing all of these unnecessary violent crimes. It almost always comes back to the same issue, legislators and the State's latest official bean counters weighing what one murder will cost the state to prevent, via plucking these offenders off the street at the first violent offense: stricter sentencing and a revamp of of current priority's within said justice system. We have the right to expect and demand a system where Police, Prosecutors,
Parole//Probation, A criminal records department and related Social service agencies are are all easily able to communicate via one computerized network.

If a brutal crime befell the family of a legislator, and he or she had to deal with the system that is in place, you can be sure that "defendant" would wind up with a considerably higher bail, stricter sentence, and liberal plea deals would be out of the question.
Therin lies part of the problem - elitism. The very people we vote to put into that legislators seat are by and large not getting it done. With the exception of the larger inner city assemblymen, the majority of legislators do not place crime prevention and public safety at the top of their list of priorities. And yet some of these inner city Reps have a major conflict of interest as they are representing minority's, whom they have expressed in sessions that they believe are treated unfairly by our States judicial system.

This presents a real conflict in expecting these legislators who comprise a fair number of lawmakinng votes, to vote upon crime bills without that particular prejudice.

And then there is the general rule of thumb that has long guided our States House of Representatives; They are playing the same old boy network IE "hop on board with us on this one, and we''ll help you out on that one, that nearly every political machine embraces. Politics as usual.

As a people we have come to expect this from our politicians, but high has the time come where we let our legislators know that this is not acceptable in matters of life and death, such as violent crime and predation of human beings..

The worst part is that it needn't cost the state overtly additional funds, there are monies that we are already spending willy - nilly, creating a revolving door for repeat offenders. A safer State, a better judicial system, requires a re-grouping, a new age prioritizing of our crimes, including using what we know through experience are pre-cursor crimes for predators moving up the predatorial ladder. I personally would rather see any violent offender in a Connecticut prison cell (and this includes breaking and entering/potential
violence!) than the thousands of inmates whose only crimes have been possession of, or procuring a drug that they are addicted to.

This is but one single change in law and judicial sentencing that would save the State millions of dollars and free up resources for prosecuting and housing violent offenders.

Instead of shaking our heads and feeling awful for the latest victims, I suggest we use our collective power to vote in our own legislators jurisdiction, against any lawmaker senator or assemblyman who is not making his/her vote on crime bills reflective of what we as citizens want. This includes the upcoming death penalty abolishment bill where repeated polling has shown that the residents of Connecticut want to reserve the right to pursue the Death Penalty as we traditionally have, conservatively cautiously and only in the most egregious capital murder cases.

Joshua Komisarjevsky: Cheshire Home Invasion Killer Sentenced To Death Friday

Again, no adequate words to truly capture the culmination of heartache and loss felt within the Petit and Hawke family's victim impact statements at today's formal Sentencing for Joshua Komisarjevsky.

United in deep and abiding empathy for these victims, and their family, the people of Connecticut have waited nearly five years for Justice to be served to the two men who ended the lives of  Jennifer Petit and her daughters Hayley 17, and Michaela 11, in July 2007. William Petit Jr was severely assaulted within the home invasion but managed to survive, losing his wife and children..

Today, the final reckoning was formally bestowed upon the second man tried for these crimes, and long-considered the instigator, initially targeting the Petit girls at a local supermarket and following them home.  Judge Blue, who presided over both men's trials, officially sentenced Komisarjevsky to death, noting that while "it is a terrible sentence, It is a sentence that Komisarjevsky wrote for himself with deeds of unimaginable horror and savagery."

Thankfully, the Petit and Hawke families left the courtroom while Komisarjevsky made what amounted to a lament to the open court. Expectedly, there was not an ounce of genuine regret, remorse or accountability within his statement.

Cheshire Murders Prosecutor Gives Rare Interview About Hayes, Komisarjevsky Trials - Hartford Courant

This is a rare interview by Prosecutor Michael Dearington, the lead States attorney in both the Steven Hayes and the Joshua Komisarjevsky trials.

Both men were convicted and sentenced to death for the capital murders of Jennifer, Hayley and Michaela Petit. Dr Wiliam Petit Jr was beaten with a baseball bat, but managed to escape by breaking his hand binds hop up the bilco cellar steps and roll to a neighbors yard, just before his house was engulfed in flames.

The fire was fueled by Gasoline which both Komisarjevsky and Hayes used in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence of multiple sexual assaults which both men had committed during the home invasion.

Dearington apparantly would only answer some questions, which was smart of him, citing that he did not want to enable any grounds for future appeals,( particularly when one considers how many times Jeremiah Donovan has mentioned laying the groundwork for future appeals....)

I found the part about Dearington walking through the crime scene very emotional and it brought me right back to the days weeks and months following the media coverage of these crimes.

I can't tell you all just how glad I am that they finally found this murderer and thief.

I am from Westport and the victim was a beloved local jewelry shop owner, a father, a grandfather and a friend to many. His business partner was also shot during the Robbery but by the grace of God, he manged to survive his gunshot wound.

If this isn't classic sociopath behavior, I don't know what is. This man has been convicted and subsequently sentenced by a conscientious jury of his peers.A jury, who incidently, his own lawyers chose, using up all of their regular and preemptory challenges well before the opposing prosecution had even begun running out.

These same Jury members later admitted to "crying" when they ultimately voted for the death penalty for Komisarjevsky, because the law and judicial requirements pointed them straight into this decision.
Never mind their individual moral compasses, which interestingly none of them referred to, except ironically - when speaking about how they'd exhausted every strategy trying to find something valid, within the many would be mitigators presented in order to find a way to "save Josh's life."
This piece of related information from members of the jury , coroberated that this was the only correct and Just sentence.

As much as I was reluctant to waste space on my blog and draw attention to this latest attention seeking behavior from Joshua Komisarjevsky, I simply had to omment upon this latest ploy in a series of ploys that have littered this case, all the way from the long pre-trial discovery phase to the Hayes trial and finally throughout his own trial and penalty phase.

And now Komisarjevsky is apparently angry and bitter over getting the death penalty, placing him in a tougher prison without as many niceties and he wants to make a statement dammit.

Henow resides on death row in the same prison as his former accomplice and someone he used to describe as a" friend" , before he sold him out as the planned fall guy, immediatelly distancing himself from Hayes, the moment the Cheshire Police had him in custody.

His scheme of playing the innocent and Dumbstruck accomplice, like a deer caught in the headlights as all of the murderous preparations went on around him, are ridiculous especially when reading his journals and interviews with writer Brian Macdoanld. I sat on the floor of a drug store reading the book simply to gain perpective on Komisarjevsky's official version in order to punch holes in it as it compared to his taped statement made to Cheshire Police.

Even his various versions given to police varied with one version admittting he poured gasoline, and another claiming steve poured all the gasoline. It was said that by the time the men reached Michaela's room they'd used up almost all of the gasoline having literally doused Hayley Petit's bed with her tied in it, likely due to the fact that she "remained defiant throughout the crimes, according to Komisarjevsky, always with" defiance flashing in her eyes,"unlike her gentler mom and sister who clearly were more to his liking as compliant victims .

In the meantime, some folks might have forgotten these terrible details of the crimes ..but I for one cannot. I will live with these details forever etched within my heart and my soul, hopefully I will relive them less s time wears on.

They say time heals all wounds and while I have seen time take the sharpest edges off of learning about painful memories and the accompanying feelings of trauma, for me the anger remains. Especially when the man convicted of such atrocities will not accept even the slightest bit of accountability. Such is the evil of the sociopath.

Mr Komisarjevsky I propose had you not locked eyes upon a pubescent girl in a supermarket skipping through the aisles with nary a care in her world, had YOU not then proceeded to follow the little girl who you quickly ascertained was with her mom, an attractive older woman in her own rite, back to her car and then to thier home, they would all still be alive today.

Woman Found in Westport Reportedly Identified | The Daily New Canaan

I have been scrounging around for information about this poor woman found dumped on the side of I95 in Westport near exit 18 which is the Sherwood Island Connector exit, which lead to Westport's Sherwood island beach. Not that that information is pertinent, as the Police believe the woman's body was randomly dumped

There is a lot of conflicting information being released. They are releasing a possible ID on the victim but the State police are not confirming anything at this point. This usually means that family members have not yet been notified or the Police have strategic reasons for withholding information concerning details of the crime IE whether it appears to be a murder and/or a possible sexual assault etc.

We do know that the woman was in her early forties, god rest her soul and my immediate thought is that this is a homicide.

This linked article contains just a smattering of information, however, Connecticut's Channel 12 News has the story and an accompanying tip-line as well. I suggest reading the basic information for anyone that was traveling in the general vicinity of I95 last night, even if it was farther north or south than Westport.

The Police even suggested that the person or persons who dumped this women's body might have been traveling from out of town or even out of state, and randomly chose Westport on 95 to dump the victim's body I personally don't believe that this perp and the crime were happened our of state, and if this is in fact murder, then I can tell you we have a very dangerous person on our hands.

Anyone capable of treating a human beings dead body in such an overtly carteless or hateful manner, has got serious issues with women and they are very dnagerous, though likely do not appear so at first.

This is a very serious situation. This person, who statistically is likely to be male, could very well be walking and living among us. Keep the doors to your cars locked the very moment that you get into the car - during daylight shopping hours or otherwise. Be very careful about who you speak anywhere especially at bars nightclubs, even coffee shops and innocuous seeming places like supermarkets and bookstores. Predators troll for victims and the ones who are most successful - meaning they do not get caught. are expert at blending in, In Fairfield county at least, this means sounding relatively intelligent and looking the part.

Recall that the Westport Jewelry robber/ murderer was described as very collegiate looking had a soft spoken articulate manner etc etc. This man is still out there likely because he is intelligent enough to blend in generally speaking and to change his appearance just enough to deflect suspicion. Perhaps he gained some weight on purpose. Perhaps he had lost weight on purpose prior to the robbery.

I did note that in one photo it appeared that the Jewelry store Murderer had something stuffed under his upper lip, similar to what Brando did in the Godfather( Brando stuffed his lower lip and jowls, this man seemed to stuff under his upper lip in one of the photos) He also appeared to have some kind of layers or stuffing, perhaps even a bullet proof vest beneath his very blue bulky coat, giving him the appearance of being a stockier man.

Whereas in the Philadelphia camera shots and the NYC videos, the thief, unaware that he would be later scrutinized in the video photos on the street, probably resembles himself, his "real" appearance a bit more unless he was extremely wily and already considering those stores for possible heists. I did notice that he kept his head down the entire time whilst in a jewelry shop. Clearly he knew there were cameras in the stores ands didn't want to be photographed too closely.

Part 2 Komisarjevsky Lawyer's bid for new Trial; more of the same....

Note: This Post is continued from a previous post which can be found below it. The two part series began after a motion for a new trial was entered by convicted murderer Joshua komisarjevsky's attorneys.

Traumatized and Morally disgusted, the finally sated residents of Connecticut and other states, were just beginning to heal after reading about and watching nearly 5 years of legal abuses by the gaggle of defense attorneys involved in this case, We have made it clear that we are equally disgusted and angered by Attorney Donovan and co.perpetual abuse of Connecticut's court processes. The notion and the word disbar has reared its head quite often among many a learned person within the comments sections of all levels of online publications.

Donovan's latest motion http://www.scribd.com/doc/78266992/Komisarjevsky-Lawyers-Motion-New-Trial-2012 elaborated ad nausea regarding the definition of predator, indicating the predation as in as animals involved killing their prey, insisting that it was unfairly cast upon his client and colored his good name. He further states that at that time prior to the Petit rapes and murders, JK was merely a non violent thief, despite having admitted within his own penalty phase procession of witnesses that this same client was stealing panties off clotheslines, peeping into windows frequently, breaking into houses before he hit his teens.

One needs to point out to attorney Donovan that before an animal kills or maims, it stalks its prey...many do, as do sexual offenders or other human predators that do not neccesarily follow the laws of nature when it comes to sexual assault, voyeurism, arson, thievery, trophy taking and serial murderers they all start out with their first rape robbery or murder.

As we we all know by now that no sexual predator is made overnight, they escalate as do murderers especially murderers of women and children who often kill at first strictly for practical reasons- to silence their victim, and destroy evidence of their crimes.

So lets not parse definitions attorney Donovan. I don't know who this lawyers is playing to with his absurd Webster Miriam definitions within this latest motion - first defending his repeated use of the word Petit Posse citing this as a like minded group of people with a common goal or intention (ring any bells Donovan Komisarjevsky Bansford etc?)

And then they defined predator for "the court" within this very same motion for a new trial, insisting that being called a predator by his last sentencing judge and having it oft repeated in the press negatively affected his clients ability to get a fair trial.

Attorney Donovan's over zealous and inappropriate motions and feigned indignation eerily similar to his sociopath client.

Komisarjevsky has a long history of objecting to being called whatever derogatory term that accompanied the dangerous and incessant crimes that he simply would not stop committing; first he was called an animal by that last prosecutor, and then later in an indirectly by Dr Petit who mentioned the animals that stole my family in his yearly memorial faithfully placed in the local papers.

Petit, who survived Komisarjevsky's baseball bat brain bashing attack as he slept on his sun porch only to have this scum co-write a book while languishing in protected prison cell, calling this sole survivor of his entire family's murders - a coward, for not breaking loose of his zip tied hands sooner, despite massive blood loss brain injury shock and the mistaken belief that two men one well over 200 lbs were armed with a 9 mm gun. in his yearly memorial to his slain family whereby he simply says something to the effect of the animals that killed my family..."

JK actually demanded a forum in court whereupon he could have a debate with Bill Petit over his choice of wording, pretending to be utterly insulted by the implication of being called an animal. This after a 4 hour taped statement to police re how he cut off the clothing and bra of a tied up 11 year old whom he actually made re dress into a schoolgirl outfit from her former pajamas that shed worn to bed that July night!

J.K.'s lawyers would have the jury and all of us believe that nothing was done properly for "josh" a rather innocuous sounding nickname for a cold blooded convicted child rapist arsonist torturer, bat wielding assailant, and in the end the man who not only was shown on tape targeting a vibrant 11 year old girl and her mother as the girl skipped through the produce section like any other 11 year old would - no sign of woman about her.

Michaela Petit, as seen through the lens of the stop and shop security cameras looked eerily like a baby deer being stalked by a cretinous slouching bitter looking man..

Within this latest motion - see Scribd laurelo account for the actual motion my link is not working for a new trial, these lawyers went so far as to offer a dictionary definition of the word Posse for us, apparently to "prove" it's "accuracy" and relieve them A bit for calling of looking like the cretins that they are for name calling the victims family within the defense of a rapist and murderer.

If only they were to look at that Websters definition again and hold up a mirror to themselves and their client, they would perhaps understand the irony of them using this word.
Besides which, it's just plain bad lawyering to taunt to resort to name calling surviving victims and the victims family who have lost their family to horrific violence.

Beyond the harassment of victims and the waste of time is the purposeful exorbitant waste of state resources that this troupe of special state "public defenders" continue to consume within their inherently
evil antics.

The fact that the regular public defenders for the state were used up by Steven Hayes defense, because both men were naturally blaming each other, therefore establishing "adversarial defenses"

Connecticut was thus obliged to hire "Special public defenders" for Komisarjevsky, who, as private attorneys on call for the state, are allowed more billable hours and funds to engage the very same state in what amounted to an elaborate "show." A show designed first and foremost to bring attention to Attorney Donovan et al. ie In the rare event that he "won, like Casey Anthony's public defender, shot into stardom after pulling a rabbit from a hat with a child's blood on his hands, Donovan might just make a huge career leap. Winning" in this case however would have been obtaining a life imprisonment for his client where he could perhaps kill again within prison or like ted Bondy escape only to rape and kill again while on the run.

It should be noted that Donovan also claims to be an avid anti-death penalty proponent, no matter how dangerous the convicted, nor how much torture they inflicted upon their innocent victims. And it is
always under this false umbrella of " saving" a child predator rapist murderers "life" that the Donovan Posse rationalizes every grievous word and action, hoping he will appear noble to at least himself, if he uses the words " save a life"

In the meantime, the Komisarjevsky defense pre-trial forward, has literally bankrupted our states judicial resources. Single- handedly shutting down Connecticut courthouses to pay for the Donovan led "defense" as well as the 24 hour security that both Steven Hayes and Komisarjevsky were given in the first several years following the murders and currently en route to and from court appearances. Both men had permanent guards on sentry outside their cells for a very long time to protect the prisoners who were in solitary cells, from attempts upon their lives by other prisoners.

The Komisarjevsky defense has been nothing but the epitome of waste, following in the footsteps of the finally becoming archaic "sleazebag defense lawyer" whose arsenal consist of attack of the victims (and in this case, the family's of the dead) All in an effort to shift the jury's attention away from their clients barbarism, deflect blame and culpability and wear down the court with endless motions that although vapid and beyond rickety, must be answered by our Country and our States judicial rules.

I have watched and listened to Jeremiah Donovan say things and take actions that are the antithesis of professionalism and he does so with the same impunity as his client who targeted rape and murdered a vibrant 11 year child. Although admitting to writer Brian MacDonald to targeting the family in a supermarket because he" liked the way the younger Petit girl looked" summed up the crimes in his journals this way:

"So I hit a guy with a bat, emotionally scarred a child and robbed a family of 15,000...."

He left a raped 11 year old doused in gasoline tied to her bed to be burned alive in hopes of destroying his DNA.

He hit William Petit Jr at least 8-10 times in the skull "as hard as I could as if chopping wood"

The sole survivor Petit broke his zip tied hands from a pole in his cellar rolled to a neighbors yard yelling for help. He sustained Brain injury massive blood loss and even knowing Petit had escaped and that a policeman was hiding in the bushes, he ran back into the Petit home from their car to insure that the fire that killed the Petit girls was lit before trying to escape with his accomplice Hayes in the Petit family car.

Like Komisarjevsky, Attorney Donovan also seemingly believes himself utterly immune from basic legal moral or ethical culpability that govern us as human beings., not to mention the Connecticut State Bar.

In Komisarjevsky case we know he is a sociopath, and thus we understand exactly why he believes he needn't adhere to law, be it moral or literal. Mr Donovan however, is supposed to be an officer of the court and thus we will assume not a psychopath... yet we have watched his deceitfulness manipulation and utter dis-ingenuousness play itself out in front of media cameras and in the courtroom.

He sputtered and revised his declared reasons for such serious actions that they led to a contempt of court hearing in front of Judge Fasano, for breaking a gag order that had been on the case for years at that point.

Like his client Joshua Komisarjevsky, Donovan is as boldly deceitful and obvious with his deceit and manipulation, first claiming he carried on his own mini press conference on the steps of the Steven Hayes trial, in an effort to " spare the Petit family from believing that their 11 year old daughter, komisarjevsky's
target and motivation for the home invasion) to have been sexually assaulted in the most violent of ways as had just been uncovered within that days testimony from the child's forensic medical examiner. And after having a day to think about it, he quickly revamped his entire elaborated upon reasons for basically lying to the media in hopes of undoing the harm that the days testimony did to his clients "image" (and jury pool)

Donovan now claimed that he held the impromptu illegal press conference as a way of petitioning the gag order which he'd felt was unfair from the beginning, yet ironically and maddeningly his own client
broke the gag order with certainly at least his lawyers knowledge, when JK met with a writer in prison
having the man added to his official visitor list which Donovan Bansford and the other lawyer saw every week for they were the only ones on the list besides komisarjevsky parents.

In the meantime....within the illegal press conference Donovan denied outright in a purposefully humble voice that his client had sexually assaulted the 11 year old child as had just been announced by the medical examiner at Hayes's trial, alluding that there would be more to back this up at his client's trial ( in the meantime the aggravated sexual assault committed by Komisarjevsky was never challenged by Donovan nor any of his partners at his trial - It was irrefutable forensic evidence that Komisarjevsky had sodomized little Michaela Petit, so instead he switched gears claiming his client was sodomized at age 4-6, something komisarjevsky himself never claimed once despite telling a writer months prior that he been raped at 14 despite claiming to police that his was 13 when caught for setting fire to the gas station.

The age that Komisrajevsky claims to have been raped - then molested have been as capricious as his versions of these horrible crimes, and his lawyers have followed suit with their own mendacious attempts to fabricate and manipulate the public, and the Jury with lies and manipulation, with Donovan leading the way, panting and frothing at the mouth like some kind of rabid dog, hell-bent on a mission, with his moral compass stuck in the wrong direction, charged by Satan himself.

While I am reluctant to regurgitate this particularly ugly piece of history, both regarding the assault of little Michaela and Attorney Donovan's despicable professional and personal carriage, I must point out one last bit of idiocy that sums up well the situation; whilst in front of national TV cameras which he had gathered round for his "announcement", Donovan went so far as to spell his name for the Journalists,

" Jeremiah Donovan...that's D-O-N-O-V-A-N " he said to an obviously confused journalist who had asked him; "Who exactly are you, again?"

Note; This Post has been broken down into part 1 and 2 due to my tendency to be extremely comprehensive especially for any new readers who do not know the basic background of the Petit family crimes and Joshua Komisarjevsky's role in these crimes.

Part 1

The Komisarjevsky trial ended with his conviction on all 16 counts and a death sentence. However the public and the victims family had to endure a six week long penalty phase of the trial; a tortuous show by defense attorneys grasping at any straws, trouncing out every 'witness" that their client didn't rob stalk or harm in some way.en route through his life of crime, and even some whom he had.

This expensive and unnecessary ruse was all orchestrated in an attempt to paint a false image of their sociopath client who indeed was the man who targeted the Petit's, with Michaela Petit his own interest for sexual predation. His lawyers called him a "damaged lad" whose life was "doomed at birth."

Rather presumptive and insulting to their own client as well as his well meaning middle class parents who never beat him nor neglected him nor locked him in the cellar.

A duplicitous, conniving lot led by Jeremiah Donovan , these lawyers unnecessarily consumed more of the states money and resources, abusing the Connecticut judicial system with every dirty trick in the sleazy lawyer hand- book, including purposeful deluge of motions, like this latest fodder, designed alternately to delay, use up time, frustrate the prosecution. Judge Survivor and the victim's family.

The penalty phase is supposed to be a little "Trial within a trial" but in this case it was a ridiculously lengthy, utterly irrelevant procession of pre-rehearsed defense character style witnesses, who in the end, ironically helped the prosecution show the jury that Joshua Komisarjevsky had very long, clearly defined and escalating history of  ignoring the rights of other human beings. adhering to even the basic rules and laws that govern us as people and a society, despite being given chance after chance to clean up his act.

He set fire to an abandoned gas station at age 13, this was arson a serious felony. He would later tell a church minister that it was an accident and blamed it on the boys that he was with citing that they were only throwing matches into the empty service station cubby.

This budding sociopath also told police that he'd been depressed and suicidal, not the first or the last time he would use this claim to attempt to alleviate scrapes with the law, his parents, church camps, and even a short stint in the army reserves,where he was tossed out for a slew of breaking and entering charges.

He was thrown out of a christian based camp for bomb making and breaking into other peoples cottages -This at a spiritual live in retreat which his mother had uprooted the entire family for, in an effort to geographically solve the Josh problem which was gathering momentum with each day. She testified that she hoped to  move JK from the influences of some"satanic worshiping teens"he had fallen in with,after finding satanic drawings on JK's bedroom wall.

Oh yes, and the defense would have us all believe that Komisarjevsky's father was a rigid controlling strict domineering father. Please. If your kid is sneaking out of his window every night to hang out with hoodlums, drawing satanic symbols on the wall of his bedroom and setting fire to abandoned gas stations, that boy is hardly intimidated by any parental influence.

Like too many mothers of notorious criminals, Komisarjevsky's mom was a complete enabler in the long run, despite decent intentions. This was a woman that gave great thought to how best approach her troubled son's issues.

Yet her own son' lawyers used his mothers decision to not put her teenage son on Thorazine, a powerful anti-psychotic, at an age where he was claiming to abuse drugs, as well showing no indication that he'd adhere to the out patient regimen for the drugs as an excuse an attempt at a mitigating factor in fact, claiming that had his parents put him on the drugs that the state psychiatrist recommended after diagnosing Komisarjevsky as the teen version of a personality disorder, instead of trying natural faith based options such as change in living situation and lifestyle, he would stopped his life of  arson breaking and entering, stalking and voyeurism, intimate trophy stealing ie panties found first on clotheslines, then in women's dressers in the many many houses he broke into.

Later he would refer to the tireless breaking and entering as a form of " extreme sport." It was clearly the invading of other peoples boundaries privacy that excited this young man the power and control he felt were at the core of every break in. Sexual assault was a natural evolution, or an accidental run in with A home owner possibly ending in violence as it was evidenced from his bashing Dr Petit's head with a baseball bat, and that wasn't a run-in but a pre-meditated attack motivated by neutralizing the only threat in a house full of girls and a slender women with M.S.

Komisarjevsky bragged to girlfriends friends and acquaintances that breaking into houses was simply too boring if no one was home at the time, And thus he developed a system- laying in wait ( ie preying upon the residents Mr Donovan) waiting until they were definitely in their house, ensuring this in fact by stalking them, eventually through binoculars, and later night vision goggles, but as a young boy he had already been caught clambering up trees outside middle class homes in Connecticut Vermont - and whatever state his beleaguered parents had moved him ) first merely peeking in windows, then emboldened when he wasn't caught, he began watching for hours as the unsuspecting homeowners went about their most personal activities.

Soon enough. he was breaking in and listening to the residents sleeping from inside what they thought was their sanctity or watching television or likely in the case of females bathing and changing clothes, after all this is the same young man who had been stealing women's panties first off of clotheslines, then cabins at camp, he clearly was sexualizing his invasions into these peoples private sanctity and more than likely it was in the hopes of spying upon a women or girls that motivated the entire habit when it began.

He even listened as they ate their meals one room away from where he crouched or stood.or rifled thru drawers grabbing easy stuff like billfolds purses jewelry etc. The stolen items were incidental and finally one Conn judge saw this within one of his many many warrants for breaking and entering and gave him a nine year sentence with six years of special parole. The judge intended for JK to be done with the dept of corrections when he was 37 providing he made use of the time stayed out of trouble.

He actually served less than two years in prison being moved to a halfway house for the last year or so of his 3.6 year sentence. His ankle bracelet was off two nights before he committed the Petit home invasion. On the two nights prior to this he and his same accomplice friend Hayes made practice runs with him showing Hayes how easy it was to get into his local hometown Cheshire houses. The men broke into two homes where both families lay sleeping with children in the houses. Joshua was found with a framed photo of a pretty woman who lived in one of the houses they robbed.

This is an ominous sign and in illustrates well the natural evolution of this mans criminal need; first stealing panties off lines, then peeping tom behavior no longer thought to be nuisance crimes as flashing is also not a nuisance but a proven pre cursor to full blown sexual assault. The photo stealing is in fact trophy-ism and it suggests a pathology of sexual predatory behavior. One of the men also left a butcher knife stuck into a kitchen counter in another home, also a sign of power and sadism - enjoying another s fear and intimidation in their own invaded space.

Of course, when caught with the framed photo in his possession, he made up a quick lie to the detective who he was taking a helpful stance with, hoping it would curry him favor and heap all blame for the serious crimes on his hand-picked accomplice/ friend- Steven Hayes.. He claimed that he held up the framed photo to show Hayes how many people were in the house in case they woke up.

The photo was a young couple, an attractive wife and small children. As far as his explanation regarding the knife he naturally blamed it on Hayes saying Hayes was" playing around with the knife..." implying that hayes must have stuck it in the counter unbeknownst to him.

Interestingly, within this latest motion for a new trial attorney Donovan cites the repeatedly referred to the term predator which Komisarjevsky had been called by his clients former sentencing judge, a fact that the newspapers got a hold of once finding out that the parole board had none of Komisarjevsky's records including that sentencing report, in their possession when making the monumental decision to grant him early release, after serving substantially less than half his sentence behind actual bars.

He also took Latin classes and computer courses before being sent to a halfway house where he was free to come and go and mix within the public sphere.

This is the same halfway house where he met Steven Hayes. It is also when he would meet his new teenage girlfriend for sex in a mall bathroom whilst taking cell phone photos of the girl and the acts. He was 26 she was 15 or 16 at that time. The mother of his child was 15 when he impregnated her making him a certifiable sex offender as he was 22 at the time.. Had this statutory rape been reported by anyone, Komisarjevsky would be right alongside his foster brother Scott Reese, as a registered sex offender.

Never put on the stand, nor subpoenaed, Reese a borderline retarded barely verbal almost middle aged man had been interviewed by the defenses paid psychiatrist and asked if any of the claims that JK was suddenly making that he'd been sexually assaulted and penetrated between ages 4-6 by foster brother Reese, supposedly answered " something like that might have happened..." And this untapped unsubstantiated conversation became the defenses core reason for claiming their client should get life rather than the legally mandated death penalty.

In the meantime, Komisarjevsky's parent's testified at his trial how proud they were of Josh for getting a job while he was in the halfway house, also a benefit of the State sponsored " help a felon find a job program."

On that particular string of robberies which topped 27 houses total in one county, Komisarjevsky told police about his night vision goggles and was caught wearing surgical gloves dark clothing with hoods, and moreover stalking his victims prior to breaking into their home. As mentioned, Donovan had the audacity as did komisarjevsky to pretend to be insulted by being referred to as a predator by the judge who made a small sentencing speech before giving Komisarjevsky his official sentence.

Lester Jackson re The Death Penalty and American Justice

Another great article by pro-Justice pro-death penalty advocate Lester Jackson. This article is always timely but particularly for those of us who live in Connecticut and/or who have been following the J. Komisarjevsky trial, the second man to be convicted in the capital murders of the Jennifer Hayley and Michaela Petit.

Komisarjevsky was given the death penalty by a jury of twelve members of his peers and this did not come easily or swiftly for his jury; After six days of difficult grappling with mitigating and aggravating factors as per the courts instructions, these Jurors would later say that they were in tears when they came to their final decision - which was that a death sentence was warranted for the brutal and savage nature of the murders.

Dr William Petit and every one of the Petit, Hawke, Renn and Chapman families are now waiting for the "Official Sentencing by the presiding Judge, Judge Blue.

Jeremiah Donovan who almost single-handedly led a veritable arsenal of verbal attacks against the grieving Petit family members for apparently expecting Justice for the torture rapes and murders of their beloved family members. To make matters even more despicable the defense attorney's often ugly cruel and incessant attacks seemed largely focused  upon sole survivor William Petit, who his client Joshua Komisrajevsky actually taunted verbally both within his hand written "journals" confiscated by prison officials, and in letters and interviews with writer Brian MacDonald, when this he chose to break the judge mandated gag order long placed on the case, Komisarjevsky continuing to thumb his nose at Connecticut's judicial system agreeing to give MacDonald what turned out to be a natutuarlly self serving version of the home invasion, pointing hius finfer at steven hayes despite the fact that he had been the one to target the women in the Petit family earlier that day at an area supermarket.

Yet, Komisarjevsky an obviously practiced sociopath, was at the same time aware that police had confiscated a great deal of evidence and testimony from the police surrounding the house etc and so he
used that evidence and testimony, which he was no doubt made aware was circulating around the media and internet.

Things like the fact that both men ran out of the just ignited Petit house laughing, knowing that bth Hayely and Michaela were left to die tied to thier beds in an inferno of thier making. Komisarjevsky purposely brought up to MacDonald knowing that it must be adressed as the papers had gotten a hold of it once a policemen near enough to the scene had seen and heard the men laughing as they sprinted out of the house, saying that Hayes let out a maniacal laugh as they ran out.


Komisrjevsky, ever the manipulator, even took the stance that he was he was offended at his accomplices bad manners. This from a man who had just commtted aggravated rape of an 11 year old and left her tied to a bed splashed with gas ready to die from a fire that both men had planned at 6 am that morning when Komisrajevsky gave Hayes directions to a gas station farther from the POetit house hoping he'd be less likely to be caught on tape or remembered.

The bottom line is that the testimony of the police officer in the bushes closest to the men was that they were both laughing- both.(These and other Facts of the case made it out" to the media before the gag order had been imposed and had naturally been latched onto by a horrified public who, for good reason, simply couldn't wrap their heads around such evil behavior from two men who just murdered three human beings, two of them veritable children.

This wasnt the only occasion that Komsiarjevsky peppered his letters and later his interviews with the writer, with oft-times ludicrous rationalizations for said evidence;  Case in point: the police had confiscated Komisarjevsky's cell phone, which he of course knew had photos of 11 year old Michaela Petit tied to her bed in various nude and semi nude poses.

The photos were even time stamped and if one does some basic sleuthing, most of them appeared to have happened when partner Steven Hayes was out doing the dirty work ie buying gasoline to burn down the Petit's home, taking Mrs Petit to the bank to procure 15,000 in cash to buy the safety of her family, a family that she did not even realize had already been brutalized; I am certain the men carefully kept the fact that Komsiarjevsky beat her husband with a bat nearly to death before tying him in the cellar, secret from Mrs Petit, otherwise I believe if she had even a whiff at the brutality that Komisrajevsky especially was capable of, she would have run when she had the chance at the bank. Komisarjevsky is the one that according to Dr Petit and his own testimony, did all the talking. It is obvious that he is the more practiced and evolved sociopath, meaning his skills of persusiveness and putting on a false innocent-like manner came easilt to him, and Jennifer Petit likely fell for his reasurring words. In my mind although both men are evil incarnate.

Komisarjevsky is even more culpable as he was basically the diplomat the liason with the boy next door face and he seemed so solicitous of thier needs, bringing water to them, "letting them use the bathroom" etc. I am certain she had no idea Komisarjevsky was molesting Michaela, as she was tied up in a seperate area during the home invasion and clearly she was not assaulted herself until after the money was procured.

In any event, Komisarjevsky actually tried to explain away those pornographic trophy photos of little Michaela Petit that were taken into custody in the following way; "I took them so I could later blackmail Dr Petit with them."

I was really irritated that this writer Brian MacDonald did not offer his own side narrative regarding these obvious attempts at eschewing facts from the case( facts already known to officials) and trying to wrestle them into something else something that made him look less the monster that he he clearly was/ is and at the same time trying to appear credible to the reader and the writer, as if to say see..'.I am telling you things that I did that could make me look bad, so I must be telling the truth about the whole set of crimes...right...right?!?"

Instead, MacDonald acted as a vessel for a sociopath, the least of what he did was knowingly breaking a gag order which ironically was placed on the case to protect the accused men's right to a fiar trial, by not deluging the press and media with facts from the trial, hoping to insure as much impartiality as possssie.

Texas Teen Ben Breedlove leaves Poignant Message days before his life here ended on Christmas Morning

This poignant video and it's story has had me crying and thoughtful for days..

To make this already bittersweet story more potent for me, the young man at the center of the home made videos, Ben Breedlove, bears a slight resemblance to my beloved nephew, who is just a bit younger than Ben when Ben left this world on his ascent to heaven.

This enigmatic eighteen year old boy died on Christmas day; he was such a rare and special type of of human being that it almost makes sense that God would want him by his side, in perfect solace, within that pure white light that Ben was so transfixed by in his various brushes with "death", as we know it. But what Ben had been made privy to was an ancient and elusive truth; shared by God and the heavens: that when his life finally ended on Christmas morning, it was truly the beginning of eternal life.

Despite knowing that Ben is in a place where there is no pain, no worries, no fear, many of us, including myself, can't help but feel a bit cheated that we never got to know Brn Breedlove for not having known this him - in this life.

As he was young in years, but oh - so - much - older on a spiritual / higher level. And anyone, child or adult, gifted with sensitivity, recognized Ben's other-worldliness, before he even lifted that first index card. His countenance, his smile, are of A beautific sort that literally exudes a beauty from within that cannot be named.

Peace, comfort, love and blessings to Ben Breedlove's family and loved ones.

I think it no coincidence that he " left" us on Christmas day. I feel at least some solace knowing that he is wrapped in that wonderful pure white light that he so generously related to us, undoubtedly for our comfort, more than a simple need to share. This was his last message, his gift to all of us.

I believe that it was only the barest of the edges of heaven that Ben Breedlove saw and felt on those three unforgettable occasions, but now he is safely ensconced deep within it's unfathomable peace and beauty.

Thank you Ben, you made death so much less imposing and you enhanced our faith in God and eternal life, tenfold.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) : How to recognize a narcissist

In literature and poetry, particularly, this is especially significant. Its primary aim must be to broaden our knowledge of human beings, that is to say, it must enable us all to become better, fuller, and finer people." -- Alfred Adler

I found a most valuable website ( linked in the title header above) written by a self proclaimed layperson, who from the very start, states that she has no formal training nor degrees in psychiatry. However to me, someone who has read a great deal of academia and endless research regarding Personality disordered persons, characteristically abusive men, both batterersand of the emotionally abusive variety) sexual predators, child predators and even study in forensic psychiatry, I can conclude that this writer is extremely sharp and very well acquainted with not only the definitions of said disorders, but even more importantly, the practical application of potentially life saving information, especially for women and girls.

The website owner and writer's main focus is recognizing personality disorders, with an emphasis on  Narcissism this seems to focus upon men ( simply because she was a woman and NPD is statistically much more likely to occur in men than women.) although she is quick to point out that women also can have NPD and can create as much destruction in other peoples lives, not only as romatic parteners but as co-workers relatives including siblings and mothers, the latter who often pass the narcissitic or anti social PD gene and propensity to thier children.

I realize that at first glance, this may sound like a lot of very depressing cerebral and analytical reading, perhaps even reminiscent for some of loathsome memories of required reading in
College or High school Psyche classes.  I assure you that this is differen, it has a highly practical application for our lives, the lives, our children's lives - especially our daughters, but our sons as well,

In fact women and men of all ages would do well to familiarize themselves with this rarely talked about subject matter. It is indeed essential as any self defense course, if not more so.

The only reason that I am posting about personality disorders in the first place is because personality disorders are extremely common in batterers, abusers and predators of all sorts, including sexual and homicidal predators.  As such, I naturally feel very strongly that every young women and girl should become familiar with the characteristics habits and traits that are tell-tale warning signs of the more dangerous   personality disorders, such as Narcissistic personality disorder and *Anti-Social Personality disorder, the latter more commonly referred to as "Sociopaths" and/or "Psychopaths."

This information is as important to a young woman and/or teen as the information she would garner in a good self defense class. and again I am not speaking only of the physcial self defense moves but moreover the defensive thinking that is imparted to students who take a self defence course from an instructor that spends equal time on teaching students observation skills about other peoples behaviors when out in public places or even when dealing one on one with a stranger that they may be intimsdated by or simly uncomfortable with ( often not even knowing why, but the class will elaborate on honing these instincts)

* NOTE; The term anti-social within the phrase anti-social PD shouldn't be confused with the NOTION that the person with this disorder is anti-sociable - IE a loner dislikes talking to others etc.

In fact, Sociopaths can exhibit an unuusal persuasiveness and charm, when they care to, and generally have something to gain in the short or long run. However this charm is superficial and facile charm and the persuasiveness goes hand in hand with a deceptive, manipulative nature, that conceals a total disregard for the rights needs, bounderies or wants of other people.

As well all sociopaths are not necessarily criminals, although many who manage "success" in a chosen career will and do resort to subterfuge and bullying and even terrorizing employees, co-workers etc.

Now, before you say to yourself " Psychopaths! Narcissists! Personality disorders! Come on, this sure doesn't concern me or my family... I respectively ask you to reconsider and read on.

The reason is simple; the fact is that many domestic/partner/intimate violence situations, including a massive amount that end in homicides, often involve Psychopaths or Narcissist PD's, as the aggressors.   And contrary to oft-times reflexive assumptions, typically, personality disordered people, including sociopaths more often than not, look just like the rest of us. In fact, sometimes ( although this should not be considered a steadfast rule ) In fact, people with narcissistic personality disorder or ASPD may dress and groom themselves with expensive clothing and at the very least make a point to appear as an alpha male within their presumed peer group.

As well, both NPD and ASPD persons can often be highly articulate, they often possess higher than average IQ's , despite sometimes having anxiety related issues related to testing, which can lead to misleading interpretation by school or prison official who may wind up dubbing the ASPD especially as learning disabled" when in fact this often stems from an emotional disability, or the result of an attention disorder concurrently existing within the same personality disordered male.

And the higher the intelligence and verbal skills of the sociopath and or narcissistic - the more dangerous and deadly they can be as these traits are terribly misleading and few are taught about this and even fully grown adult women are often not aware of these tell take symptoms and thus cannot be expected to keep their children from becoming involved with a sociopath who looks quote normal" as did Ted Bundy and Joshua Komisarjevsky, the latter who in fact had an ongoing relationship with a much younger girl at the time of the Petit family murders. The young girl Caroline Meisal, had recently moved out of State, or was moved by her parents as she was still a minor during her relationship with the then 27 year old Komisarjevsky, as well he father was a minister!

This frightening fact - that a extremely attractive young teenage girl from a caring middle class family, wound up in a serious relationship" with a considerably older man, that she knew was a multiple felon- In fact Carolyn purportedly met JK whilst accompanying a friend of his- also female- to prison to visit him! This can be the =Ill help fix him or I am attracted to his bad boy side.' But in the case of Ms Meisal I believe that she was chosen by Jk because of her looks, age and emotional immaturity that accompanies that age, which includes naivete. As well being the product of a minister father, she likely had the concept of forgiving people as Jesus did, and or giving people a second chance, ie not judging them, idealogy that had been inbred into her nature and this sadly made her a perfect target for someone like Komisarjevsky.

He seemed to have a life long atttraction to younger "innocent" girls, they unilke a women his own age, would be more likely to get involved with someone who was basically a punk, a degenerate, a low life, and this is in fact exactly what J. Komisrajevsky was/is.
This is a perfect example of the manipulative, charming and persuasive nature of the ASP Disordered male; Ms. Meisal later would declare that she knew "josh" had committed some crimes - burglaries is all she knew, but she assumed it had to do with drug addiction or something along these lines and she would later say' I didn't ask a lot about it I knew people make mistakes...."   Therein you have the main reason Meisal became involved with such a person. She was a teenage girl with a particularly trusting nature, dating joshau was akin to helping a hurt puppy in her eyes, insofar as her level of world experience etc.

It might explain to a sane adult why someone would break into peoples homes over and over again, however despite having used this excuse one of many, to his parents Police and probation parole workers, he would soon prove this as the convenient lie that it was, when later bragging that the break ins which occurred only when the residents were in the homes, were a form of " extreme sport".

This was already known to Police and many of Komisarjevsky's other friends, but unfortunately his naive parents who are the very definition of enabling and co-dependent, chose to believe as many would the first explanation, because as I pointed out, people by nature want to believe the best in people - especially when they have a relatively innocuous appearance and give us a story of being abused troubled and damaged" ( I even think that Komisrajevskys time weathered lawyers fell for his act, judging by their extreme efforts to quote save him from a death sentence - this went beyond the normal parameters of classic actions of an atypical anti-death penalty lawyer whose mantra is no matter what my client did they don't deserve to die.

Jeremiah Donovan et al Attorneys for JK were so off the charts in their tactics and their zeal, resorting to a veritable symposium of morally repugnant legal"  tactics that included constant attacks upon the surviving victim and the victims families, so much so that I have to believe even with my jaded eyes, that this guy fell for some of his client's lies and manipulation: Even when considering that these attorney's certainly were flailing, trying to make a name for themselves (off the backs of these victims,) ie if they got Komisarjevsky life instead they would be relegated to the pop culture book deal and interview making fleeting fame as Casey Anthony's lawyer, whose actions he will someday be held accountable for to a greater power than the American media machine.

The reason for the inverse relation between intelligence and dangerousness is simple; as a society and individually we are taught that educated people or simply those that sound educated or claim to be educated are people we can trust, they seem the last person who would ever be a criminals after all, or so we think, and we continue to teach our children and young adults incorrect and life threatening information or lack thereof , concerning signposts for potential predators batterers stalkers and date- rapers, or simply out and out sexual assailants who remember usually escalate slowly, they may decide to commit their first " kill " in order to destroy the DNA and or witness evidence.

Do we want this for our daughters or even for out sons as many a narcissist will latch onto a particularly vulnerable young man or boy and influence the young mans life in extremely negative ways. And because most young persons are not taught about personality disorders they may believe that the friendship is volatile or problematic because of something that they keep doing, which is usually what a narcissist or anti social PD wants their friends" and potential mates" to think. In fact they are excellent manipulators and they can really do a number on any young or adult person who for whatever reason has a slightly low self esteem or an extremely naive nature.

This is completely avoidable and once it has started there are intervention type of techniques for extracting our children or our siblings or our adult relatives from these sick attachments, as they cannot rightfully be called friendships or relationships, despite the victim believing just that.

Do we really want another generation of women possibly victimized be it physically emotionally or financially by men (or less often women) with these dangerous disorders, simply because this is a subject that is difficult and can be upsetting at first because females are nurturers by nature still, and this leaves us particular vulnerable because we are raised to believe that people are inherently good and everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt etc. etc . Thus, this can really make it very hard to accept and seems to pose a real spiritual tug of war within ourselves to process this to accept that there are simply evil people in this world, That cannot be fixed no amount of kindness or goodness or love will transform them

Now this word evil in this context is not a eerie supernatural sense of the word evil, as this ascribes too much power to these individuals, and its not realistic. In fact many with PD'S inwardly relish the idea that they are evil and bad men, because they cannot or will not achieve uniqueness or attention in any productive or positive fashion, Often when given chance after chance for this by well meaning parents partners, relatives or "friends" they will ultimately resist mucking through all of those unnecessary RULES that the rest of humanity lives by. They believe that they are special although they will often tout themselves as persecuted damaged or even abused in order to gain sympathy and suck in a potential victim.
No they are not supernaturally evil they are in fact extremely predictable.

And this is where our empowerment comes from, and where we can empower our older children and or young adults as we see fit for age appropriateness. People with these Disorders are not mentally ill, this is not the same as having bi polar which is a mood disorder although one can have both a mood disorder and a PD, but it will be the PD that wreaks havoc in other peoples lives in possibly criminal ways. as such this is why I am giving this tutorial or sorts with the help of this excellent website by a women who I believe has recently passed on, although she left a veritable pearl of wisdom for us in her wake.
I must reiterate, at the risk of the Personality disordered individual intimidating via perceived special powers of evil -   there is no such fanciful reality for people to fear, or as in the case of  sick people (often women who become enamored of "dangerous men such as serial killers in prison, to revere sadly enough.

In fact this brings to mind a very apt expression : " The Banality of Evil" and It is most apropos here.

In summation, it translates into this; Evil people with no consciences are in fact usually very predictable, they are not mysterious, they all follow a certain group set of behaviors and share common traits - And as such, they can be identified and dealt with accordingly. This means avoiding becoming involved with them on any level. Keeping a close watch upon them if they are a neighbor or a relative and in cases where we or a loved one is already involved to some degree with one,

Ridding our/their lives of them with the least bit of volatility violence or emotional destruction. I find that once a person understands that there is a name for the person that has so messed with their lives and heads, they are relieved and validated. As I said awareness empowers, it also takes away the notion that the PD acquaintances carefully supplants that we are the one who is the problem - we are not loyal enough or supportive enough etc etc etc. All manipulative techniques that they all might as well have read from the same manual.

Often women who have the Kind hearts can become easy prey to these men, as they see kindness as a weakness something to be exploited, although it is rare that they know admit this openly. They might admit it in some form if you pay close heed to their words and moreover their actions or their lack of normal action and interactions with other human beings.

Whether you have someone in your life with either NPD or ASP whether they are a relative a co-worker, or worse, someone that you have become romantically involved with,( often this is utterly unbeknownst to the person dating the NPD Or ASD, and yes this includes being married to one.

I ask all women of legal age to read the linked website and please please really consider the information that this writer is proffering. She makes no bones about the fact that she hasn't " degrees in psychology etc" however she has apparently lived through an involvement with a personality disordered person and wrote that website having survived it, but obviously also having amassed great deal of pain and destruction to her life and her inner emotional life. Fortunately she not only lived to tell about it, she came out of the other side of the tunnel with a vast amount of wisdom regarding a subject that all women -and yes men too- Need to be made aware of.

To me this information is as intrinsic to young women as sex education is for the appropriate aged Teen. And that age can only be determined by loving parents who will decide when they'd like to teach their daughter the hallmarks, the give aways of young men who have one of these personality disorders. This information unlike so much that young girls learn in school and outside by mentors etc. is information that may save their life in a prophylactic sense. IE when you see these traits or anything like them, in a boy or a man that you are dating, or otherwise involved with, extricate yourself at once. And unlike many other things that parents pass on the their children, once availed, they will also understand why.

That is, once they learn the actual real life application of all of that weighty information in the Diagnostic Statistical manual ie DSM or their  Psyche 101 0r 102 or advanced Psyche in high school and/or College. This, for those who have sat through what usually sounds like a lot of uninteresting drivel that we shall never use in our lifetimes. At the age of 17 I can tell you that none of it seemed to bear the slightest bit of reality in my life then or even within the following ten years. Unfortunately this was because of the way it was taught. Had someone preferably a woman explained how this related to toxic relationships, abusive men- and women (less common but do exist) as well as the occasional personality disorder person that I would find myself working with, related to and unfortunately for me dating for a relatively very short time frame but long enough to nearly cost me my life.

In actuality we, and our children teenagers and adults, will need this information, but our schools most assuredly need a better way of broaching and teaching these essential teachings to our young people. I suggest in the meantime that as individuals we as adults first learn all that we can and then pass along these tough realities to the next generation, as well as friends and loved ones of more advanced years.

This is a subject that needs to be talked about, and understood, as it can become life saving..

Missing Person's Advocate Says State Not Doing Enough

Sadly, missing persons are often directly related to violent crime, and statistically it is often of the domestic/partner variety.

This entire subject is a pressing issue and has been for quite some time ; I agree wholeheartedly with this wonderfully outspoken Connecticut victim's advocate at the nucleus of this article.

Every state needs an entity whose sole job is specifically pursuing the trail of adult missing persons,yet it comes as no surprise that Connecticut has none. This leaves missing adults to often fall through the cracks recieving much less energy and manpower from police. This is because of an administrative loophole really; they are not technically relegated as a suspicious dissapeearence thus a possible crime ie abductions, adult female slave trade etc, unless there is most exacting proof of foul play.

And "conjecture" by family members is what many larger Police departments will too often label genuinely suspicious and concerned relatives and friends who are most aware of the missing persons life habits relationships and what was going on in their lives just prior to their disappearances.. Trying to prove that thier loved one obviously met up with fould play is often left to the family of the missing person too often, as various cutbacks in an already light department law enforcement, leads to police having their hands full with " proven" homicides, rapes, kidnappings, Home invaders etc.

The well known case of then 38 year old Waterbury resident Billy Smolinksi has brought an infusion of attention to the issue of missing adult persons. It is sad that it took a terrible tragedy to open up the States eyes to this serious gap in a public safety service. In fact, Mr smolinski has become the poster child for why Connecticut needs a department that has the time and resources to give this extremely important problem, the attention it deserves and requires.

We live in a violent world.

We live in a nation where in 2010, a violent crime occurred every 25 seconds, a forcible rape every six minutes, a murder every 35 minutes.

We live in a state whose capital city last year registered 26 homicides, in a county whose biggest community last year recorded 22 homicides.

But this isn't Hartford. This isn't Bridgeport. Westport prides itself on its charity and its civility. Homicides aren't supposed to happen here.

That is precisely why the town was left shocked and numb by last week's fatal shooting of a well-respected, 65-year-old jeweler in an apparent late-night robbery at his office.

Yekutiel Zeevi, known to his friends as "Kuti," was shot in his second-floor office in the Compo Shopping Center at about the same time retail merchants in the complex were ushering out the last of the night's holiday shoppers before locking up.

Now, as 25 local and state police detectives search for a suspect, Westport shakes off its sense of disbelief and searches for an answer. How could this happen here?

The short answer is that evil does not always obey boundaries. But our shock, our dismay and our uneasy sense of vulnerability stem from the fact that violence visits Westport so infrequently.

"We pride ourselves in having a safe community where people look after each other," Police Chief Dale Call said of the shooting. "It's tragic, there's no other way to look at it."

Said a 19-year-old Bridgeport youth who works at a sporting goods store in the shopping center, "You usually hear about this kind of thing where I live ... not in a small place like this."

It has been 15 years since Westport's last homicide, a domestic dispute in which a man shot and killed his estranged wife at her workplace, then killed himself.

Recent crime statistics document the chief's contention that Westport is a safe community -- among the 10 safest in Connecticut, by one account.

The FBI tracks serious crime -- including violent crime and crimes against property. In Westport, the 2010 FBI data shows, more than 95 percent of serious crime was against property, not people.

The town recorded a scant 14 violent crimes last year: seven aggravated assaults, five robberies and two forcible rapes. That compares with 299 reported larcenies, 78 burglaries, and 16 motor-vehicle thefts -- crimes in which no person was threatened or even touched.

The FBI data also shows violent crimes in Westport have declined for two consecutive years, from 28 in 2008 to 20 in 2009 to 14 last year.

For its size, Westport is very well protected. With a population of 27,000, the town has 68 police officers.

Of 13 Connecticut municipalities with populations of 24,000 to 30,000, only one -- gritty NeLondohas more police officers, according to the FBI's 2010 data.

The 68 officers in Westport compare very favorably to similarly-sized Ridgefield's 45, New Milford's 47 and East Haven's 52, the FBI data shows.

Police believe there was nothing random about the apparent robbery and the killing of Yekutiel Zeevi, rather that his business was targeted specifically. It is not a retail store where customers walk in off the street to browse; it was a maker of high-end jewelry where clients made appointments and had to be buzzed into the building through a security door.

The man police believe killed him had visited the day before and returned on a night when a New York City diamond merchant also was there, a man who also was shot but survived.

Ironically, Yekutiel Zeevi in earlier years was no stranger to conflict and to danger. Friends called him fearless. He was born in Israel and was an infant during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war that led to Israel's independence. "Kuti" was raised by a disciplinarian father who was quick to raise a hand to rebuke him. As a young man, he was a commando in the Israeli Navy during a period of intense Middle East hostility.

He would survive all of that, emigrate to America and find his way into the jewelry business and into Westport, where he would raise a family and prosper.

The community's collective heart goes out to his family.

Westport was a safe place when Yekutiel Zeevi settled here a generation ago. Even in the face of his brutal slaying, it still is.

The article above was taken from this weeks " Westport News" , where the recent Robbery, Murder and attempted murder at a local jewelery shop, has brought the citizens of this quaint suburbanite town to a grueling reality check regarding violent crime - and this in the midst of a what is usually a lovely festive time of year. As the article states the mindset that "crime is not supposed to happen here" is sadly incorrect as we have learned from the Petit family crimes and many others over the past ten years alone. One need only click on the Connecticut cold case website to the right of this blog, to learn that unsolved crimes alone are plentiful in one of the wealthiest States in the nation. Looking even closer you ll see that quite a few unsolved murders have occurred in sleepy little hamlet type sound side environs such as Westport Milford and the like.

The man who committed the murder and Robbery is still at large and has been spotted on video eyeing Jewelery stores in New York City and as far away as Philadelphia. He tries to change his appearance, such as padding his coat to appear heavier -this in the Westport crimes - but as anyone who watches the videos below can see, it is indeed the same man in all of these videos.

I suggest that as difficult as it may seem right now while the town and other areas are still grieving this loss, we try to learn from this terrible act of violence, and at least insure that we and our loved ones are doing our part to keep ourselves our family and ourcommunities as safe as posssible through awareness and vigilance.

Here is some additional and clearer video footage of the man who allegedly killed the owner of a Jewelery store in Westport Connecticut, and seriously wounded his partner.

The man has apparently been spotted in New York City, as well as Philadelphia, casing other Jewelry stores. The trouble with this man's appearance is that it is chameleon-like, easily changed: In the Westport video, he was obviously wearing multiple layers of clothing under a blue coat in an effort to look heavier, and his clothing and the padding lend him an almost thuggish appearance. I spotted this at once from the back shot of him going up the stairs to the Jewelers office.

Other first hand descriptions, as you can hear in this video from shops in the New York, Philly areas that he visited, are describing the killer as "soft spoken" and "collegiate looking." One can be assured that that appearance and even the speech are likely affectations, that have been honed in order to better appear monied, and therefore someone who would naturally fit in as a prospective client at an upscale Jewelry store.

This crime, like all violent crimes is extremely upsetting, especially when lives are taken brutally over money. What makes it even more upsetting to me is that it happened on the same streets that I shopped in for twenty some odd years, growing up in Westport and living there throughout my early adulthood. And like most crimes the more vigilant that the public can be, the better the chances that this man is apprehended before he commits any more bloodshed.

Please be very aware of your surroundings as you shop this holiday season. It is good practice to always look around as you enter stores, exit your car in parking lots and even as you drive, stroll and window shop. Be very very aware of who is around you , follow your instincts and be assertive in the way you carry yourself.

In a self defense class that I took a few years ago, the first exercise the instructor had us all do was to go to a supermarket or a mall parking lot and look around for a few minutes. He asked us to study all of the people walking around to and from their cars. Then he asked us to do the unthinkable; think like a criminal; decide which people would make the best victims, IE who wasn't paying attention to their immediate surroundings? Who was distracted, IE on a cellphone, in a daze, or otherwise preoccupied, not paying attention to who was near their person, or perhaps was watching or following them?

This early assignment/ within this self defense mini course was extremely valuable and one that I carry with me every single day of my life ; And yes, you too can learn to do this, and still be a nice person, a "people person" good hearted and not become paranoid.

At first I will admit that I had a hard time carrying myself with my new found stature, it seemed to go against the very grain of all that I had embraced my whole life - IE Trust People for they are mostly good. Be kind to everyone, Be friendly, smile and you will make someones day etc.

All of these things are still true, and it took me a bit to learn that I could still be my trusting self ( until proven otherwise or instinctively feel otherwise) but adding awareness, exude confidence and a the practiced art of simple observation, some of these were new yet soon adapted painlessly into my daily trek through life.

In the meantime.. be aware and continuing loving each other.

Police Still Searching For Suspect In Westport Jewelry Store Murder « CBS New York

I grew up in Westport Connecticut and I am very familiar with this Jewelry shop. I am crushed and outraged that someone could have such little regard for life as to attempt to take two lives over some money/Diamonds. One good man died and is being deeply mourned by the community and another is hanging on to life in ICU.

On Justice, Honor, Faith and Healing

Over the course of the last several day's friends and faithful readers alike have asked or e-mailed me: "Why haven't you written anything about the verdict yet?

The Verdict.

They are referring to the by now, well publicized death penalty verdict that was thankfully, finally handed down by a jury to the man long considered the instigator and main perpetrator of the Petit family assaults, robbery and murders, Joshua Komisarjevsky.

The truth as to why I have been so slow in penning what at first glance seems like "great news" (as well the hard won result of years of hard work and diligence from State prosecutors) is at once
simple and complicated.

The breadth and the depth of the feeling that has been coursing through my my heart, my mind and my soul, since the announcement of the verdict two long days ago, has simply put -  overwhelmed me. It has managed to render me - an avid wordsmith - word-less.

Upon watching the verdict read aloud by the jury , on a large flat screen television screen  in a doctors waiting room no less,  I felt an enormity of things - But to express them was another story.

Some feelings, like relief and gratitude were easy to discern.

A reassured sense of gratitude to God who I had been praying to fervently since LEARNING about the Petit crimes, these crimes had struck a pained chord of such magnitude that I have been literally consumed by them as well as emotionally invested in the procurement of justice, for these girls.

There was also of course a gratitude an appreciation for the twelve intelligent and sensitive Jurors, each one deigned with an enormous and weighty decision of such magnitude that many could not fathom having to make it.

On the other hand some would have jockeyed for the position.

One thing I can say certain is that these Jurors clearly took their jobs very, very, seriously.
They used a great deal of energy, time and intellectual wrangling in considering all evidence testimony and facts presented to them over a record 6 week penalty phase of the Komisarjevsky trial .

They followed the Court 's instructions regarding mitigating and aggravating factors to a tee. And from everything that I have read and heard, there was not one juror that made the decision to give Joshua Komisarjevsky the death penalty, easily and without a measure of emotional and moral difficulty.

And this is all good. This is not a decision that should be made with anything even resembling surety or ease. And this, this is how our Justice system is supposed to work.

Whether to give Komisarjevsky life in prison or the death penalty for his participation and culpability in the murders of Hayley, Michaela and Jennifer Petit will obviously have life lasting effects on a many people, some of whom closest to the crimes, will be affected in drastically converse ways.

Sole survivor William Petit Jr. and his extended family members have been understandably and
rightly united in their desire to see this lifetime career felon, receive our State's most severe penalty for the murders of three of their beloved family members, two of whom were just beginning thier promising young lives.

Or, as it was maddeningly expressed in courtroom legalese; "The commission of multiple "Capital Murders, including the murder of a child under 12 years of age" , and capital murder involving multiple aggravating factors"

Translated, this means that particularly brutal and cruel behaviors and actions were taken against the victims within the commission of these crimes; the convicted murderer's behaviors inflicted excessive suffering to the "victims".

In human terms this was the brutal and cruel murders of three innocent human beings, including a teenage girl and a child of 11, the latter sexually assaulted by Joshua Komisarjevsky minutes before her murder komisarjevsky the man who initially targeted Michaela, her mom and sister at an area Supermarket late on a summers day, following them back to their home in order to size it up for breaking and entering.

These crime seemed to bring out the moral outrage of even the most liberally minded, politically restrained and emotionally level individuals. For four and a half years now, I have heard what has almost become a mantra of sorts regarding the Petit crimes, the words coming
from all across the State and well beyond even from other countries and continents.

"I thought I didn't believe in the death penalty, but after this case, I' and my husband/ wife have changed my/our mind!." Or Another common variant: "I wasn't sure if I believed in the death penalty but after learning about these crimes I now am certain that I want the Death penalty to remain and option for just this kind of crime"

There were thoughts and feelings that I was was trying to sort out after the verdict that were not as simple to pinpoint as relief and gratitude. Somewhere, in all of this was a central emotion that I couldn't find a word to describe.

It had no name.

And this, this was the reason that at the " end" of this struggle, I now found it so difficult to put pen to paper so to speak; To express myself aptly and coherently about this verdict and this enormous outcome of what began as a tragic event, an event that had such a profound affect on me, that it virtually inhabited my mind my heart and my soul for almost five years.

I plainly, just didn't want to get it wrong.

I could be lazy and simply say I was "glad" -  I was glad that the verdict came in as it did, but this did not seem right. "Gladness" and/or "happiness" both seemed terribly wrong somehow, as if to to imply a happy ending" something so off - kilter that that it was almost akin to obscene.

So I took some time.

It deserved that.
Prayer works wonders, and thinking and grappling with emotion, I came to a type of conclusion. Although the circumstances that brought this all to bear were so very tragic, the closest feeling that came to describing what I felt over this, it's formal conclusion, was a kind of sad satisfaction.

I was satisfied that the system that we have in place, as flawed as it might be, ultimately did it's job, it delivered the closest thing to Justice that it is allowed to deliver.

While this simple word doesn't perfectly fit nor relate the total essence of what was residing in my heart, maybe that too is part of the lesson here. Perhaps, for the most potent things in this life, there are no words.

I can and will say that I feel proud.   I am proud of survivor William Petit Jr for setting the example that he has for other survivors of violent crime, as well his amazing display of strength and courage under such extreme circumstances and challenging times.

I know he has struggled, I know he is not superman, and yet he made himself get up, and push his way through every single sunrise and sunset, managing to move forward, as he asked us to do during his family's now infamous memorial message; He did all of this and also managed to slowly build a charitable foundation in his family's memory, a foundation that's ultimately helped a a lot of people struggling with an array of human suffering including victims of violence, folks living with chronic illness as well as subsidizing positive life outcomes for young women and girls.

We are all proud of the entire Petit, Renn, Chapman and Hawke families, for their constant grace even under fire. their absolute faith, courage and their dignity. These special people have set an example that many of us admire and aspire to.

And I'm also really proud of my fellow supporters" people, folks within the State of Connecticut and beyond who through prayer, letters and well wishes have helped keep the Petit families spirits aloft.

I personally have made e-mail and Internet friends from all over this country and beyond - in Canada, the UK and even Australia. This friend making and bonding has been an outcropping of other peoples desire to share their feelings, with my Blog's coverage of the crimes acting as merely a catalyst. Other writings associated with crime legislation connected to these crimes and issues within our Justice system that they ultimately got people involved in.

I've managed to make it to one of the Petit Foundation 5K Race day, and I have to say that the unity and abounding love was simply overwhelming. The caring, kindness and support that arrives from near and far, and the sheer force of human goodness and spiritual generosity, never ceases to feed my desire to continue to make a difference, to reach out, to always lend a hand, even when times are difficult within my own life.

To see the collective outpouring of compassion and kindness just after the crimes, and almost simultaneously witnessing an ever growing, unwavering, stalwart support, was, and continues to be something truly magnificent to behold. A lesson in faith and humanity that it such a gift.

In the end, the truth is that this one terrible act of evil ultimately wound up bringing so much good, relentlessly caring and tenaciously loyal souls together .And i just have to say that from everything that I have learned about the Petit "girls", I sincerely believe that they have been part and parcel of this miraculous lesson in the pervasive goodness of the human spirit. Michaela Hayley and Jennifer brought us all back to center...to what really matters; I thank them every day for this.

I believe today as I believed that first very difficult year after the crimes, that the candles that lit up the town of Cheshire on the the "Cheshire Lights of Hope", although but one of many carefully orchestrated community events, that benefit the newly formed and very successful The Petit Family Foundation this one special night seems to best embody the sentiment that resides at the core of the P.F.F Mission Statement; That statement was taken directly from Michaela Petit's Facebook page; her favorite quote by Mahatma Gandhi.

The fact that the national media is reporting that they expect a decision from the jury by the end of this week is telling;.This means that someone has become privy to the fact hat the Jury or someone representing the jury, has communicated to the Judge that they are nearing a decision.

Let us pray that the Jury's decision is the correct and Just decision, the outcome that most of us feel is warranted and indeed the only true justice for the lives if these three precious human beings.

I recently happened upon a comment that I made months ago on a certain persons Blog in response to a post by said person who, believe it or not, a diatribe that was supposed to serve as type of closing argument on Joshua Komisarjevsky's behalf - Or as he liked to call him "Josh" A much more innocuous sounding name, for a a convicted child rapist/ murderer, who is anything but innocuous.

I don't wish to draw attention to this person's blog, for he is an ego driven imbecile who has attacked the surviving victim of these atrocities as well as the victims other family members, but suffice to say that I only need mention it as a point of reference for it it in response to Norm Pattis's foolhardy op-ed in the Hatrford Courant that I began what started as a comment but turned into a manifesto of sorts

First, lets address this claim that Josh" as you referred to him, "offered to plead guilty a long time ago".....

Your casual use of this innocuous sounding nickname for a man convicted of raping and murdering an eleven year old girl gives you away from the get-go; You are what has now become a banal breed of lawyers, so much so that your verbiage is even a tell.

"Josh" as you so casually refer to him, did not offer to plead guilty to all of the charges against him from the start, (ie making all of this expensive justice stuff unnecessary) and what he and his lawyers did offer" was certainly not motivated as an act of largess or magnanimosity, as you imply merely by the convienent over simplification of facts;

Komisarjevsky's attorneys, made an unofficial offer to plead to certain charges - with certain stipulations - in exchange for life in prison for "josh" ( also their casual sounding nickname for their murderous client) of course providing the death penalty was completely pulled off the table.

It's amazing that so many anti-death penalty advocates swear that the DP is not a deterrent and yet...... watch to what lengths the murderers/ rapists and their state financed lawyers always go to avoid even the mere prospect of being on "death row".

I say prospect because let's face it, as we have clearly learned in this state, from facts and figures and the embarrassing Michael Ross debaucle, the death penalty is, practically speaking, a death penalty concept, a sterile threat; It never happens, thanks largely in part to our legislators and lawyers and many legislators are lawyers) who have, in effect crippled purposely the Death Penalty, because they don't like the idea of it, for a spectrum of reasons, none of which would likely matter to them if a crime such as the Petit sexual assaults and murders happened to thier families. Truly! Watch how fast thier minds would change.

And this is really a moot point anyway, Poll after Poll has proven that the people of Connecticut, as Blue as it may be , are a practical lot when it comes to violent predators; the people of this state want, no demand, to reserve the right to impose the Death Penalty for its very worst offenders who are convicted of capital murders that fit a certain criteria of aggravating factors that must be proven in a court of law by a jury of his or her peers. And may I say that as a state we are extremely discerning in our mere pursuit of this sentence.

However, as you are well aware the built-in limitless appeals processes have rendered the concept of being put to death once given the death penalty which takes an awful lot of suffering and carnage in the first place - a joke; a sword with a very dull blade that one must literally rub someone to death with.

So what we wind up with are lots of people like you who have the audacity to use the argument that the system that you have helped cripple and in the process of crippling, make very expensive - for the state and other peripheral entities, as the very reason we should stop using it, and take the easy way out right from the start following a brutal gaggle of capital crimes committed against innocent persons, including murder and rape of children.

What kind of imbecilic argument are you making here, OR is this just more of the same armchair contrarian B.S that you hope brings you the much desired attention that your egoist narcissism seem to feed upon.

While its true that Connecticut plea bargains nearly 98 percent of it's violent crime cases, thereby making trials a thing of the past, spoiling prosecutors and criminal attorneys, who for the most part are no longer courtroom litigators but deal makers, BS artists, car salesman, or actually more like USED CAR SALESMAN. ... ahem.

Joshua Komisarjevsky offered to plead guilty unofficially because he was caught red handed fleeing a murder scene in the murder victims car with enough evidence to sink his ship. You seem to be saying that as a society and a criminal justice system, we are obligated to take the easiest and now the cheapest road to conviction of any kind, to hell with the fact that our state law at the time of these crimes did in fact dictate that such capital offenses that Mr Komisarjevsky knowingly engaged in, were punishable by the death penalty. And yet, they carried out those crimes nonetheless and from much of the evidence not with a first time murderers apprehension, panic or fear, but rather a sociopaths power - fueled glee.

I am betting that you don't believe half the BS that you spout here and elsewhere on the Internet; That this has become your "shtick" a gimmick, a persona which you've adapted, much like the Rush Limbaugh's and the Howard sterns. But the really sick sad part is that three human beings were yanked out of their beds kidnapped, sexually assaulted, dressed up in schoolgirl outfits and tied posed in obscene positions tied up and cell phone photos taken of her.

Michaela Petit's clothes were cut off her just minutes before she was assaulted and then bleach was poured over her in attempt to kill of the final bit of DNA that might remain from Joshua Komisarjevsky, or as his lawyers and Norm Pattis call him - "josh"

Then knowing that the man of the house the girls dad had escaped the cellar, Joshua and his hand chosen accomplice quickly doused both Petit girls with gasoline
Both girls had just listened as their beloved mom was jumped on by Komisarjevsky immediately upon returning to the house, he tied her up including a rope around her neck.! What was she thinking as she walked into her home, having given Hayes the money( who then gave it to Komsiarjevsky the leader) and hoping praying the men would now leave her family alone.

Komisarjevsky immediately tied her hands and her neck and legs, readying her for death. Steven Hayes sexually assaulted her having waited at Komisrajevsky's insistance until they got the money, or else Jennifer Petit would have never complied with the men knowing that they were truly evil. They wanted her to believe as Komisrajevsky hasd assured her over and over they just wanted money and theyd be on thier way"

She begged for her life and Komisarjevsky described in great detail in an interview with writer Brian Macdonald, how her voice became a squeak as her larynx broke first in one place then the other. The rape and strangulation took minutes upon long minutes. Josh paced in and out of the room with the baseball bat in his hands.

What happened next is a key piece of evidence proving that Komisarvsky was not the panicked second hand man who was quote "frozen" thoughout the Hayes led murderous ending of these crimes, as he and his lawyers have tried to sell us from the time of his arrest.
"Josh" whose voice was the only voice that Petit was familiar with as he was the man who had beat him tirelessly with a bat spraying his Coumidin - thinned blood all over his sun room, now said, in a decidedly much more sinister voice :

" Don't worry... it will all be over in a few minutes...."
As Petit described very specifically, this tone was a sharp change from the tone the same man had been using earlier with him. This was when Komisarjevsky needed Dr Petit's cooperation and compliance, (ie otherwsie, if the man knew he was about to rape and kill his family in the end he mightve struggled) right up until that last moment as soon as Mrs Petit was murdered, Komisarjevsky who claims to have been "frozen and unable to react" couldn't help himself from taunting the man whose home he had basically taken over, whose family he had raped and stripped of all of their power and dignity, who whom he would now ultimately finish off.

His voice was the only one that all of the family members were familiar with. Hayes said nothing. Dr Petit cited that only the man who beat him spoke and Komisarjevsky himself admitted to speaking with Michaela and Mrs Petit at length.

Thus, josh", as you call him, took a moment to yell down the stairs to Dr Petit, who hearing the terrible thumping and moaning that he thought might be his wife tried to yell something up at the men on the floor above him, but brain injured and severe blood loss caused it to come out a garbled non human sounding mess. (I have had that same type of brain injury and know exactly what Dr Petit meant when he related this detail whilst testifying)

It should be noted that Komisarjevsky has since taunted Dr Petit both within his writings to Author Brian MacDonald as well as his interviews and within his Journals and writings confiscated from his prison cell, where he surely knew they'd make their way to the public, and thus the surviving victim - William Petit Jr.s, attention.

In classic sociopath/ narcissist form, Komisrajevsky is actually bitter and angry that Petit survived, leaving a witness, and wrecking his plan - making his life more difficult!

And that's exactly what Joshua komisarjevsky did, he set his plan into action, eliminating the witnesses and getting rid of any DNA evidence as small as a hair from his head, the men pouring gasoline purchased earlier that morning took different areas, all over Jennifer Petits limp body with her pants still pulled down and her head bent against the couch, up the stairway and into first Hayley's room which he doused liberally and made his way into Michaela's bedroom where the gasoline was now almost empty and he poured its contents on the little girl whom he had just molested all morning and sexually assaulted, memorialized his crimes with a series of pedophile cell phone photos that he could look at over and over again.

The girls likely panicked and screamed as they realized what was about to happen. One of the police officers outside the house claimed he heard a girl or a womens scream shortly before the house lit up in flames.

It is in these moments that my heart and soul is forever trapped. The same holds true for Jennifer Petits return to her house having given the money to Steven Hayes dutifully expecting the men to do as they promised and " be on their way as soon as they got the money"

Instead, Komisrajevsky admits tying her up, claiming Hayes suddenly became the bossy leader and ordered him to. This of of course makes no sense but it adds to the notion of Komisarjevsky participating in Mrs Petits murder. The same woman he talked softly to and reassured so conbvincingly that they would leave once given the money.

But it is really in these moments that define this crime for me ; the shocked Jennifer Petit and her rising panic realizing that these men were going to kill her and her family, is something that as a human being I cannot help but relive with her.

The men ran out of the Petit's home laughing according to swat team police who has set up a perimeter.

Hayley Petit was so doused in gasoline as was her bed that it is thought that her binds pantyhose simply burned through and she found herself running through flames in a direction she thought was out. Her clothing was on fire and the heat unbearable, the smoke blinding choking, She succumbed, despite her love for her sister and her will to help, she was human and she fell face down at the very top of the stairs.

Michaela died still tied to her bed but her feet on the floor looking like she had desperately tried to get away from the flames and heat. Her skin was damaged from intense heat and blackened. The pillowcase over her head had melted to her face. Her blond hair was still intact. Her clothing bleached and cut from komisarjevsky's scissors.

If the death Penalty did not exist, neither one of these men or their attorneys rather, would have offered to plead guilty in exchange for life without parole. With the bar lowered and the threat of the death penalty gone, any lawyer worth his salt would direct their client to take their chance with a trial as they had nothing to lose" ie the worst thing that could happen would be a jury or judge sentencing them to life without parole, which theyd get in any event, whereas the better outcome and ever in the minds of lawyers within reach- would be life with the chance of parole, or 20 years which in Connecticut equates to 12 , subjecting the victims family to attend parole hearings every 2 years as the Sharon Tate family was compelled to do once the Manson killers death sentences were commuted to life with chance of parole in California.

With no death penalty as a possibility however faint, the State of Connecticut will be trying every single one of these cases, costing the State milllions and backlogging our courts and miring our already too thin prosecutors in many large city superior Courts.

The individual voire dire that Connecticut uses for jury selection would cause a back log of even bigger proportion for any capital murder trials, and the money spent on all of this including the prosecutors who are also paid by the state and public defenders acting as the defense attorneys- (both men in the Petit crimes have utilized three public defenders each as have hundreds of other indigent defendants.)

We would have a monetary ripple effect that no legislators or anti-death penalty proponants including attorneys, ever talks about when insisting upon the abolishment of the death penalty.

So beyond the fact that every poll taken shows that the people of this state by far want to keep the death oenalty for the worst of the worst cases, as well as the huge time and money expense issues involved in abolishing it, not to mention the gigantic increase in all crimes formerly punishable by the death penalty - we would have a crisis on our hands of huge proportion.

The old one - two punch by Komisarjevsky and lawyers Re Daughter's so called " Testimony"

Here they go again. And What a performance.

The very day that Joshua Komisarjevsky's attorney's were about to play the video - taped "testimony" of Komisarjevsky's now estranged nine year old daughter ( a little girl who by the way calls her biological father" Nana's son Josh" who is in jail for something...) , we were all in for a surprise!

The Surprise

A "last minute" transparently - staged intervening by Joshua Komisarjevsky, who had months to intervene, yet waited to this last possible and therefore, least potent moment, on the very day that his daughters videotaped conversation with a therapist was scheduled to be played for his Jury. The video-taped "testimony" was motioned for by his very own defense attorneys well over a month ago!

Judge Blue, in his predictably defense accomodating mode, approved the motion.

The sudden leaping into the fray and objecting to his child being "used" was actually a two-fold manipulation;

First and foremost this was an attempt by Komisarjevsky to officially save face, whilst still getting that attempt in for a empathetic emotional reaction from his JURY.

This morning in court, Mr. Komisarjevsky, suddenly, and literally at the 11th hour, purportedly asked to address the court regarding his daughters testimony" announcing that he was acting "against the advice of his attorneys" (ahem,.....)

His address to the court was an obviously pre-written and well-rehearsed " strenuous" objection to that day's scheduled presentation of his daughters video-taped testimony. The so called testimony which had been discussed in court and the media for weeks, was being used by the defense as a ploy to manipulate the court and the jury into what they hoped would be a facile reflexive emotional reaction which would then move them to have mercy giving Komisarjevsky a life sentence rather than the death penalty that the state is asking for and indeed the crimes demand.

And This reflexive compassion from the jury, the Komisarjevsky defense lawyers are hoping, will spring forth from said jurors (or even just one holdout, ,causing a mistrial ) because when they see Komisrajevsky's daughter, whom he in fact has not seen in over four years,they will be inclined to think of this child rapist killer as a father and this in turn will rattle their consciences and make them uneasy about putting him to death.

First of all Komisarjevsky impregnated an under age girl whilst he was 22 years of age and whether Komisrajevsky wanted to be a father or not we'll never know but we do know the then 15 year old had the baby. It should be noted that Joshua Komisrajevsky was serving one of two stints for two strings for house break-ins that totalled over 40 arrest charges and within Connecticut's infamous plea bargaining model of justice" magically whittled themselves down to 20 or so felony convictions by the time he was 23 years old, and now in prison where he belonged, a father.

Today's events translated in possible or plausible to the defense criminal/ legal ramifications;
Convicted murderer Joshua Komisrajevsky addressed the court, IE the public, IE the media IE the Jury. The Jury. Those 12 people that will soon decide if he is to get the death penalty as is dictated by Connecticut state law when certain capital crimes such as multiple murders are committed in a particularly egregious depraved and cruel manner. The crimes committed against four members of the Petit family of Cheshire who were personally selected by Joshua Komisrajevsky, fit every single one of the aggravating factors listed by the prosecution in the first day of Komisrajevskys penalty phase.

Now although the Jury wasn't in the room when Komisrajevsky made his rather convenient sudden last minute objection to his daughter being used in this way" His so called address to the court will invariably make its way to its intended target ie the jury anyway.

You see, while it's true that Judge Blue had the jury leave for Komisarjevsky' address to the court, Komisarjevsky and his attorneys knew darn well that the national media is reporting/tweeting every single happening of any consequence within said courtroom, And as such, Komisarjevsky's so called "unexpected " address to the court would surely makes its way to at least one or two members of the jury as it will be splashed all over every headline on the Internet and many newspapers as well.

And all most people will see is something akin to:

" Joshua Komisarjevsky objects to daughter's video-taped testimony"

And this is exactly what this Sociopath and his slippery lawyers wanted to achieve.
They knew that people, the public and thus the Jury as explained, were inwardly judging Joshua Komisrajevsky for allowing his own child to be utilized and emotionally harmed in yet another attempt at sparting his despicable life.    The entire show was just that a show intent upon manipulating the jury intogiving him a life sentence, rather than the death sentence that the State of Connecticut has rightfully pursued for these particularly cruel, brutal and self serving crimes.

And despite his cavalier attitude, IE the stretching of legs, the languid yawn,the bored disaffected look, upon hearing the Jury say Guilty on every criminal count that he was charged with for his part in the Petit family assaults murders,arson, we know he is a coward. Komisarjevsky wants life in prison, his lawyers told us so in a little speech they gave about "what Josh wants." just a few months ago at the onset of this trial that they his lawyers turned into a hateful sleazy circus.

Inserted into his little speech today were several choice words that you better believe were very carefully selected and for a very good manipulative reason, allow me to explain;

Komisarjevsky injected this bit for good measure:

'I refuse to beg for my life, I will humbly ask the court to spare my life..... but I am not at all comfortable with my daughter testifying at this age without her knowledge or agreement as it could later harm her in life when she inadvertently could learn or believe that she might have said something that inadvertently wound up assisting my being given the death penalty"

That's where he slipped IT IN. IT in case you re wondering is the little key to he and his lawyers next shrewd and calculating psychological maneuvering.

Uh oh Judge Blue allowed the child to testify via video, and he allowed official members of the press to view the video, thus outing the girls identity, which had been up until that point anonymous to the public.

Now when this child finds out that whatever she said one day while talking to some doctor, she was indeed part and parcel of her fathers penalty phase! This is the part of his trial where his lawyers try to fool everyone into thinking that " Nana's son Josh" wasn't  a bad man at all for having chosen 11 YEAR OLD Michaela Petit to rape and killed her and nearly her whole family just to get at her and to cover up evidence of his crimes.

Now Komisrajevskj and later his lawyers will claim that it will be cruel to this child who they insisted should quote testify at her dads trial, cruel to give her dad a death sentence if for no other reason than the way things have unfolded this child might wonder if she said something that made the Jury say ebnough already, we are going to award the death penalty to this man.

In other words, Komisrajevskys and his lawyers are using his daughter in an old fashioned one -two-punch scheme.

First we'll put the kid in front of the juries faces and get her to acknowledge her fathers existence
(since she was only five when he left the house one night, knowing full well he was going off to at the very least sexually assault a young girl whom he'd lusted after earlier that day at a supermarket near his and his victims home. )

He followed that little girl and her family back to their house, creepily stalking the girls hanging back just far enough in a truck given to him by his enabling parents, who were allowing him to live in their Cheshire home rent free despite having absolutely no responsibility for any bills whatsoever.

In fact by winning primary custody, Komisrajevsky did not have to pay child support anymore. And there has been more than one witness in Joshua past that has shared that he was always complaining about having to pay jayda child support - this before he won his aggressive bid for primary custody.

And don't think for one minute that this was not a big part of the motivating factors in seeking out primary custody so aggressively in family court, despite having just been paroled and in fact still wearing his ankle tracking GPS anklet.

Joshua Komisarjevsky's words in court today have no truth no real meaning, other than to show anyone who is paying close attention, that he is once again attempting to dupe others. Certainly, he had the help of his lawyers with today's tactic, and really, this really speaks volumes about these evil men. They will stop at nothing to wage their war against Justice whilst telling themselves, and anyone else who will listen, that they are all about saving the life of a man; A man who would just as soon rape their child, their grandchild, and smash their heads in with a baseball bat in order to get them out of the way, so that he can rape and pillage in their homes. possibly extorting a cache of money by first playing the role of the good guy between the two bad guys, only to show himself as the devil in the end, when he ties up their loved ones, along with them, bruised bleeding and in shock, tied up and helpless to help their loved ones. Joshua Komisrajevsky would splash on a little accelerate, drop a match and run away..... laughing.

First these lawyers barge into the life of an innocent 9 year old child, with nary a care that they re destroying the priceless bit of distance that this young child has managed to put between herself and this monster that happens to be through no fault of her biological father, and a sexual predator, Arsonist and child murderer.

This whole last minute show; Komisarjevsky standing up and speaking to the court, showing he is intelligent,well spoken and again, his lawyers banking on the prejudices that many Americans have regarding their pre-conception of what killers, especially child killers, should look and sound like.

.This, as they are not sequestered and despite instructions not to talk about the case with anyone, someone somewhere will inadvertently fill in a juror or two regarding Komisrajevsky's sudden attempt to simultaneously redeem himself in the eyes of the jury, the public and his family, by making a disingenuous albeit articulate and eloquent (that's the manipulative sociopath at work) statement regarding his strenuous opposition to his child testimony, being used to either help or harm his case IE whether or not he gets the death penalty or life in prison.

At the center of this whole flowery diatribe and he has a penchant for flowery insincere wording in all of his writing, from his so called journals to his letters to Brian MacDonald, to his letters to the mother of his child while he was serving his last stint in prison for that string of what amounts to stalkings and home invasions but were classified as House Robberies, he told the mother of his child in one particularly memorable letter that "while prison was a bitter pill for him to swallow, he was ready to take life by storm with her and their beautiful child"

That attitude of Komisrajevky's did not last long. Nor did any loyalty he might or might not have had for the mother of his child in the first place. Think of his letters and all of his words as exercises in manipulating others. That is what sociopaths do. And even in prison he was honing his skills. He would soon have his eye on a new young conquest; A very young companion of a visiting friend in prison. THAT young girl would soon become his lover, the two meeting up at the mall while he was still in his prison halfway house. Komisarjevsky would take pictures of his new gal pal while they had sexual relations in the Malls public Restroom stalls.

I suppose some non existent sexual abuse made him use his own brand new underage girlfriend in this most despicable disrespectful way.

In the end after Komisraevsky;s totally planned little 'surprise objection diatribe"
Judge Blue predictably said something to the effect of" ok we listened, and I suggest you listen to your counsel The video-tape will be shown and entered in as evidence."

Meaning:your so called wishes which you have so loudly and officially made to the court,albeit at the very very last minute for something that has been planned and in the works for months via you and your defense team, And the court says"too bad were going ahead with the plan to view your daughter videotaped without her knowledge while she speaks to a child psychologist all in a transparent attempt to warm the cockles of this Jory's heart - or at least one of them -- and get them thinking about the fact that you are a dad and that once upon a time you fought for custody of your then 5 year old, a child that you in fact put to bed the very same night that you'd already planned to the smallest detail a home invasion that revolved around your sexually assaulting an eleven year old little girl. A little girl that you'd spotted that very same day at the Cheshire Stop and Shop.Her name was Michaela Petit.

It should be noted that the decision to allow this video tape of Komisarjevsky's daughter (which was technically supposed to qualify as "testimony" during the penalty phase of a capital murder trial) to be entered into evidence and shown to this jury was highly unorthodox and extremely controversial. Children's testimony in the guilt phase of a trial is not wholly uncommon, but a long estranged child of a convicted child rapist and murderer, basically being used as an emotional ploy to the jury by the convicted mans lawyers, well this is
unheard of.

However, like many of his decisions within the penalty phase portion of the State of Connecticut vs Joshua komisarjevsky,Judge Blue ill advisedly succumbed and rather easily at that, allowing this utterly moot testimony to be played to this Jury as well as the media. Whatever the reasons, Judge Blue has lost his once extremely sound common sense judgement and appears to have long thrown his judicial arms in the air and said " go ahead boys its all yours from here on out" to the Komisarjevsky defense attorneys.

Incidentally, I am using the word  testimony very loosely here for I don't know if one can even call the surreptitious videotaping of the long estranged daughter of a convicted Child rapist and murderer,talking with a child psychologist about nothing in particular - as testimony.

Moreover this whole show regarding Komisrajevskys child has been nothing but a show within a show whereby Komisrajevsky and his lawyers said I know - we'll use the fact that giving Joshua the death penalty
would be harmful to his daughter, and while were at it, well hype of the whole fact that he is a dad in the first place (meaning he impregnated an underage girl when he was 22 years old and in typical sociopath fashion, he fought bitterly for her custody, since he and the girls mother had broken up and he wasn't going to have anyone else have control or oversight of his daughter!

And thus, once again with the aiding and abetting of his parents Ben and Jude, (who have alternately been portrayed as the reason Josh is a killer (due to their particular brand of Christianity and his mothers reluctance to put him on anti-psychotics for genuine fear he'd abuse them or sell them) or hapless parents simply in over thier heads. The Bottom line is that the Komisarjevskys helped Josh enormously in his bid for primary custody, they allowed their home, thier prescence in thier home all to be used in family court hearings as a much more stable living environment than the childs mothers residence, an easy feat considering at that particular moment she was in drug treatment having some temporary difficulties within her treatment center. Remember up until this point in time the girl raised this child unti age five along with the help of her relatives. Komisarjevsky was in prison when the child was born chasing a much younger girl as the baby was talking and walking and before that he was breaking into houses while people were home, watching them from trees with night vision goggles often for hours and hours.

Once Komisrajevsky was in his halfway house sexually involved with yet another minor, he became aware of said difficulties that the mother of his child had being the control freak that he was, he was all over it. This , despite the fact that he was just being paroled and would wear a GPS tracking anklet which was part of his special parole. That parole was supposed to last 6 years as per the wishes of the judge who presided over Komisrajevskys last sentencing hearing. The judge who was appalled by the sheer magnitude of komisrajevskys house break -ins at his young age and moreover his penchant for breaking into homes where people were present- boasting that anything less was " too boring." took note of the night vsion goggles, the knife that he toted, and announced that this felon was a cold calculating predator and a danger to the people of this state. The Judge intended Komisrajevsky to serve nine years in prison and six years special parole.
Due to something Connecticut called early release parole, Komisrajevsky was sent to a halfway house after 2 and a half years.

He was home with a tracking anklet in another 8 months. Leniency is clearly a very bad idea for shrewd cunning sociopaths.

The very same night that Komisrajevsky had his GPS anklet removed from the dept of corrections, he was right back out breaking into homes, according to Steven Hayes, showing the inexperienced house burglar just how easy a home invasion could be. All he needed as the perfect set of victims. On his third night of GPS government tracking freedom, Joshua Komisarjevsjy spotted and followed home 11 year old pretty little Michaela Petit and her attractive mom and her attractive older sister. He sized up thier home and made notes in his head regarding posssible break in points. He then called his friend Steven Hayes on his cell phone. That phone was given to him by his parents, along with a laptop computer to use, a decent working truck that was registered and insured and only added to his appeariamce of a regular working guy in Cheshire Ct. a town full of working class men and women.

The difference was that Joshua Komisrajevsky was a predator, who had just had the very last bit of State mandated control removed from his person.

Komisarjevsky once said that the main thing about Robbery, stealing and any other crimes was that

"You  must look as if you belong."

"Appearences are everything" he said.

The Komisarjevsky Penalty Phase Show. Part Two

Note to Readers: This Post is Part two of a prior Post. It is quite long, but all of the facts are necessary in order to understand the crimes, and moreover this trial which has been excessively deceiving, if one is to rely on most mainstream media.

Remember Ted Bundy?

He not only was an innocuous - looking man when he wanted to be, but he also went to law school and worked at a suicide hot- line for several years during the same time that he was raping and murdering women.

He also escaped prison once, specifically because he had his guards and everyone else thinking what a regular predicatble sort of guy he was, and as such - they let their guards down.

After escaping, Bundy proceeded to kill more women and a 12 year old child by the name of Kimberly leach. Poor Kimberly was the first child that Ted Bundy had killed, at least to the knowledge of Police and the FBI. This only showed an escalating, completely out of control sexual predator, who now was raping and murdering several women and/or children a day in orderr to feed what had become an insatiable desire to cause fear horror and pain in sexual assaults whose excitement came from his complete control of his always female - victims..

The victims were no longer a specific type, as they had started out: long haired attractive brunettes with straight hair often framing thier young faces. It was quickly discovered that his first bartrage of victims closely resembled a young women whom Bundy had been rejected by, in his mind due to his lack of social elevation.

That original victimology soon dissapeared as Bundy evolved into a serial rapist and murderer. After his escape he simply went on a spree of killing and rape willy nillly grabbing up any victim out of sheer convienence and opportunity. After raping and torturing his victims, he murdered in particularly vicious brutal ways, such as bludgeoning them in thier heads and face with pieces of wood. This is also an escalation.

My point is that Ted Bundy was a Sociopathic sadistic murderer motivated by control and domination. Yet his criminal activities evolved, became easier with each rape and murder and he admitted to needing more stimulus within the crimes as time went on. Anti-Social personality disorder aka sociopath psychopath is
not a mental illness, it does not serve as an insanity defense for a very good reason. Right and wrong are
very discerable to the sociopath, he often goes to great lenghts and lies to avoid detection. It is however a
choice the sociopath makes upon whether to act upon his fantasys and desires to harm and stalk etc.

Bundy had the same textbook personality disorder that Joshua Komisarjevsky had beginning in childhood.
He was diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder at age 13 or 14. This is the adolescent version of a
repeated life of violating other human beings rights and harming others, often rationalizing or minimizng their behaviors even using the notion that they are victimized and persecuted by whomever society the law.

Shared trait among sociopath predators is zero empathy. He could fake it, but when his prison buddy referred to Komisarjevsky as "emotionally dead" prosecutor Dearington should have brought the jury's attention to that description - and explained why it was so pertinent.

Instead when he cross examined that witness, he asked of the man " by emotionally dead", wasnt that a way of saying that Komisarjevsky had a calm nature about him?" And the defense witness/ friend of Komisarjevsky said ...."uh....yes?

It seemed as if Dearington thought that by using the term "emotionally dead" that this would somehow give credence to the notion that Komisarjevsky had a mental illness, and that this would alleviate his responsibility for the beating, rape and murders.

But that isn't the case. Emotionally dead is perfectly in sync with Sociopaths,: despite being able to turn on and off highly manipulative and persuasive natures, there is still a discernable lack of normal empathy, the ability or desire to feel true compassion for anyone because they are so narcissistic (self involved)

However, I think the prosecutor was confusing the emotional flatness of a psychopath with the mood disorder that Komisarjevsky's defense attorney's were trying desperately to inisist thier client had had since childhood or adolescence, using it as if it were a viable excuse for all of his criminal behaviors which incidently all involved an utter disregard for other peoples rights possesions, privacy sancity and safety IE The gas station fire where he was caught on videotape.

The defense were of course way out of thier league from a forensic psychology standpoint. This man killed a mother and her two young daughters and sexually assaulted an eleven year old girl because of an untreated mood disorder which they managed to procure a pyschoatrist to diagnose him retrospectively without knowing komisarjevsky until well after these murders, as being bipolar since late childhood and this stunted his emotional development, leading to a life of crime.

In the meantime, there is no such

The defense team have spent the better part of three years setting up this notion; Coming up with anything any possible mental illness concussions he suffered (Ive had five myself and yet I am not a rapist nor a killer, nor did i set fires as a child nor did I steal underwear break into other peoples houses every chance i got, try to make bombs, get thrown out of every camp I ever went to and stalk my neighbors hiding in trees and bushes.

In any event this so called mood disorder IE Bi-polar disease is a mental illness that is highly treatable and it does not resemble a psychopath by a long shot ie anti social personality disorder.

Komisarjevsky's lawyer have been dragging out highly paid psychologists and psychiatrists to suggest and or claim retrospectively that komisarjevsky had bipolar disorder- because this was the only mental illness that the research team for his natural biological family came up with in their attempts to find mitigating factors in this adopted killers past.

The biggest difference between someone like Ted Bundy and Komisarjevsky is age by the time each man was caught. Komisrajevsky unlike Bundy had been in trouble his entire life - he chose to violate other peoples rights starting at a very young age and when there was no true tangible negative seleleque because his enabling mother and his beleaguered father continued to rescue him from his own criminal acts and had not perfected his craft yet. He also appeared somewhat thug like and unlike Bundy he was so over the top that he used zero self control, unlike Bundy he left a trail of signs of his deviant sexual predatory behaviors from a very early age and unfortunately his parents enabled him over and over again, even if it was unwittingly or do tho their own haplessness and refusal to admit that some human beings are genetically evil. Socio-pathology is not a mental illness again - and it is not treatable, ask any forensic psychiatrist.

The biggest problem for society and particularly the town of Cheshire is that Komisarjevsky has two parents with extremely impenetrable fundamentalist Christian beliefs, that added to their digging in their heels and refusing to see that this was a case of a hopelessly dangerous young man and when the law got a hold of him, he belonged behind bars. Instead there was Jude and Ben Komisarjevsky consistently enabling Thieu son, showing up to every court hearing for his many many burglaries, his juvenile arson stalking, Robbery's, trespassing and stealing ladies and girls panties- a very very ominous sign.

By their loud presence in his current life they are helping him in the eyes of the Judge visiting him religiously, his father in the courtroom talking about how they cant hug their son"

Denial is a very scary thing, and there would seem to be a lot of it going around. Lets just hope and pray that this jury is too smart to succumb to the tactics that they are being barraged with.

Back to Joshua Komisarjevsky's daughter, who was likely doing just fine until this subpoena came crashing into her young life c/o Jeremiah Donovan and Co and her biological father, trying to using the mere fact that he is a father as a deterrent to this Jury giving him a death sentence.

Any hope this young girl had of putting distance between her innocent life and this man's criminal atrocities and legacy, are now lost forever. His legacy has become her own. And Judge Blue allowed this harmful circus to be carried out, his thinking forever a mystery to the sane among us. It has become painfully clear that he has either succumbed to the sometimes mind numbing parade of defense witnesses, in what has to be the longest most despicable penalty phase of a murder trial or:.....

Judge Blue has fallen prey to good old fashioned Lookism and classism, as in "well ....he doesn't look like a child rapist murderer..... and he has (middle class) parents that love him..... and a daughter after all...." and well there is that (alleged)

"Hold your horses ... putting the kid to bed.."

Komisarjevsky, again the author of the above line in a series of text messages sent between he and his hand picked accomplice, Steven Hayes, mere hours before the pair invaded the home of the Petit family of Cheshire Connecticut, with sexual assault and robbery on the mind of Komisarjevsky,who had personally chosen the victims earlier that day at an area stop and shop.

Remember, Steven Hayes had not laid eyes upon anyone in the Petit family, he only had Komisarjevsky's descriptions to go by. Including that Mrs Jennifer Petit was"a young looking tall blond mom"of his personal target for sexual assault, eleven year old Michaela Petit, who Komisarjevsky later claimed to police detectives that s he thought she was 14 or 16 when he sexually assaulted her several times throughout the home invasion. This he said within his taped recorded statement to Cheshire Police after being captured fleeing the Petit murders scene in the Petit's family car.

The trouble with this is that by this point he'd also admitted on tape to the Cheshire police detective that he had spent a lot of time with the child whom he had the nerve to continue to refer to as KK within his statement, KK again was the Petit families nickname for Michaela and it made me ill and showed just how twisted Komisrajevsky was to be using that nickname knowing he had raped and killed this child at this point, having left her tied to her bed doused in Gasoline, after raping her.

But still he almost affectionately called her KK as he told the detective that the too chatted quite a bit including talking about her summer plans and other assorted things as he tried to pretend in his own mind that he was relating to an 11 year old as if she were an adult woman. During that time did he not ask the girl how old she was, did she not tell him what grade she was in in school. Here he was calling her by her family nickname, supposedly bringing her water, letting her use the restroom, and chatting about her summer. In all of these many many visits to this young girl's bedroom, this guy would have us believe that he never asked Michaela her age? I think not as common sense dictates - Joshua Komisarjevsky simply does not want the world to know including his parents, and the jury, that he sexually assaulted a child.

After raping and murdering Michaela by pouring Gasoline on her, after he was done sexually assaulting her and setting both Michaela and her 17 year old sister Hayley who was also doused in Gasoline, on fire while the girls were alive and tied to their beds. Michaela basically cooked to death from the inside out,her lungs and trachea scorched with soot, she died a terrible death.

Thank God that this Jury appears to be extremely intelligent, and I am still banking on them seeing through this ridiculously elaborate smokescreen, and focusing on the facts that indeed can be found by listening carefully to the defenses very own witnesses during this penalty phase.

Some recent happenings in Courtroom 5A that simply defy logic:

The court, (as in Judge Blue) has allowed a Komisarjevsky's nine year old daughter to be subpoenaed and forced to testify on behalf of her father in an attempt by his attorney's to win him a life sentence rather than the death sentence that the State (and everyone else) believes that he deserves.

This is the man who chose these victims, he made these crimes happen. Komisarjevksy has been convicted for murdering and sexually assaulting eleven year old Michaela Petit in the first phase of this trial. In fact he was found guilty of every single count against him by this jury.

It is very clear from the evidence between the Stop and Shop video tape, his taped statements to Police, and his interviews and letters to writer Brian MacDonald that sexually assaulting Michaela Petit was Komisrajevsky's main objective for the Petit crimes. Once he realized how badly he'd beaten Dr William Petit with a baseball bat (in order to gain control of the house), once he understood that Michaela and her mother had each heard him at length speaking, saw him several times without their eyes being covered with Pillowcases - in Jennifer Petit's case she certainly saw Steven Hayes at the very least wearing his mask, if he even kept it on while riding in the back of her car to the bank.( I doubt very much he wore his mask, which certainly insured that the Komisarjevsky wasn't going to allow her to live)

If Steven Hayes who was a convicted Felon happened to be identified, he also knew that Hayes would finger him in a nano - second in order to get a plea deal.

Jeremiah Donovan who is heading up this over the top penalty phase throwing anything and everything at this Jury hoping to evict empathy or mercy from them based on a series of lies about Komisarjevsky's childhood.

Mind you Donovan is the same lawyer that deliberately broke a gag order on what was then a still pending capital murder case, by holding his very own press conference on the steps of the Steven Hayes trial, because on that particular day of Hayes trial evidence was discussed proving that Komisrajevsky had sodomized Michaela Petit.

Using the utterly disingenuous reason that he was concerned for Dr William Petit and his family, he announced that the forensic findings were wrong and when pressed as to how his clients semen was found where it was found, muttered some vague comment about Komisrajevsky ejaculating on the eleven year old child. He actually had the audacity to say that his client didn't want the Petit family thinking that he had sodomized an 11 year old child between that point in time and whenever Komisarjevsky's trial began.

Now this is so wrong on so many levels but the irony for those who have been really paying attention, like me, is that William Petit and his family are the very same folks that Donovan incessantly, attacked demeaned harangued and harassed all the way from his clients pre-trial motions throughout Komisrajevsky's trial and right up to this very moment. Recently he made just another in a series of objections regarding the Petit family and what they re wearing to Court. This time it was the slight edge of the letter M that Donovan spied on Dr Petit's vest which lay beneath a jacket he was wearing to court one day!

This was a particularly sleazeball tactic even for Donovan who has become the embodiment of sleaze, stooping to any level of victim bashing in his ridiculous attempts to draw attention to himself under the guise of "saving his client". Dr Petit's vest said MS which stood for Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that the defense the prosecution the judge and everyone else now knows that Jennifer Petit suffered with as she and her children were involved in a great deal of community outreach for fund raising and awareness for the MS society.

How Dr Petit wearing a MS vest ( beneath a jacket no less) to court was a problem is a complete mystery to anyone with common sense, and yet, as has been his habit since the advent of this trial, Judge Blue not only backed Donovan up in his objection, despite a very rare angry display by prosecutor Michael Dearington, he basically stared Dr Petit down until he removed the vest in Court. A vest which again - was underneath a jacket!

And this has been but one of a myriad of harassing motions and objections in a veritable endless succession by the Defense for Komisarjevsky, always with Donovan, ever the moral vacuum, leading the way. Which is why Mr Donovan's claims that he was making an announcement regarding the forensic findings that his client had sodomized Michaela Petit, trying to nullify said findings for the Benoit of Dr Petit and his family, is so completely and obviously mendacious.

In what was an inordinate amount of pre-trial issuance's, Donovan literally waged a war against the sole surviving victim and his family who had been nothing but gracious throughout the entire judicial process, a process that was entirely too long, with Komisrajevsky the second of the two men to be tried, it was over three years from the murders of their family members before jury selection even began for Joshua Komisrajevsky.

Attorney Donovan having gotten nowhere with several attempts to manipulate Dr Petit and his family, decided to turn on them; One of his higher profile attempts to BS the Petit's was the infamous Hayes courthouse steps press conference where the Petits who had every right to be angry, called for a hearing to address Mr Donovan's obvious and flagrant thumbing his nose at the court imposed gag order on the case. Indeed Donovan should have been held in contempt of court for breaking the gag order, and calling the media around him to do so.

First of all that media was gathered for Steven Hayes trial which was well into its second half. - Hayes and Komisrajevsky had adversarial defenses, each pointing the finger at each other, however by the time Hayes trial had drawn near he wished to change his plea to guilty, his brother having written him a man to man letter encouraging him to take accountability for the first time in his life"

Donovan had been allowed to attend every single day of the Hayes trial which I personally found to be absolutely unfair advantage and seemed inherently wrong. When Donovan's cell phone went off in the middle of someones testimony, playing Joy to the world" it really seemed wrong. He sat in the front row writing notes constantly.

After basically announcing to the world via major network TV cameras, that the medical examiner and forensic Md's must be mistaken when they testified that day in court citing Michaela's rape at the hands of his client Josh" Komisarjevsky, Donovan as I claimed he had no other way to address the Petits because they had attempted to get a restraining order against he and his law.offices. So you see he just had to use the national media who were gathered there for Komisarjevsky's accomplices trial, in order to assuage the Petit family's unnecessary heartbreak and fears regarding 11 year old Michaela being sexually assaulted in this the very worst of ways.

One day later Jeremiah Donovan did a complete 180 degree turn and now was claiming that he made the announcement as a way of contesting the gag order on the case, which he had felt was unfair from the start.

Are we getting the picture here regarding Mr Donovan's credibility and professional and personal integrity?

After being summoned to a hearing by Judge Fasano, the earlier presiding judge who placed the Gag order on the case, Donovan was given a tongue lashing but escaped the contempt of court charge that he so absolutely deserved for pulling such an obvious manipulation of his clients Jury Pool. And in the end of course IT WAS TRUE, HIS CLIENT DID sodomize an eleven year old child. Not one of Komisrajevsky's lawyers dared to question the forensic proof of such during his trial I noticed.

Ever since he was called out by Judge Fasano it seems that Attorney Donovan began baring his teeth towards Dr Petit and his family beginning a campaign of such ugliness towards this courageous and gracious family, that have suffered so much pain. In the end, Donovan has only managed to garner the disdain and lack of respect of most people residing in the State of Connecticut.

He has referred to the family in pre-trial motions and then in court as "the Petit Posse" . He and his cohorts made a record number of legal motions designed to simply delay, harass and deter the prosecution and the Petits from taking an active part in the adjudication of the case against his client.

His client of course was the ringleader in the torture and murder of their beloved family members.

After seeing the recent decision by Judge Blue allowing this convicted child rapist and murderer's nine year old daughter to testify on her fathers behalf via video, I've decided that Judge Blue has indeed fallen for good old fashion American " Look ism, and class ism" within the Komisrajevsky case. The latter class ism is ironically something that both the Komisrajevsky and the Hayes defense have tried to lampoon the prosecution, the state of Connecticut with, since the very earliest pre-trial machinations for their clients.

This man that wrote this infamous text is in fact the very same man who had already targeted the Petit family, specifically Michaela Petit, her mom Jennifer, who he had dangled like bait to would be accomplice Steven Hayes who was the same age as Jennifer Petit. and her sister Hayley, for sexual assault and murder: Unabashedly admitting to writer Brian MacDonald, that" he liked the: way the younger Petit girl looked" (This, at the Cheshire Stop and Shop where the recently released parolee was trolling for victims) Komisarjevsky found what he wanted in 11 year old Michaela Petit, a veritable child who ironically was just two years older than Komisarjevsky's biological daughter is now, making us all wonder what Joshua Komisarjevsky had in store for his daughter when she grew just a bit older.

Remember, he fought tooth and nail for custody of that daughter, when she was just five years old and he was still in a halfway house-the last stint of a supposedly nine year prison sentence imposed by his last judge at sentencing. That nine years plus six years of special condition parole somehow magically got whittled down to just two years actual prison time and approximately a year in a halfway house, where the inmates had complete access to the outside world, working at part time Jobs and in Komisrajevsky's case, having a physical relationship with yet another underage girl whom he had met at prison when the young girl had accompanied a friend who was visiting Mr Komisrajevsky.

Komisarjevsky incidentally, only served an actual two and a half years behind prison bars before being transferred out to a Hartford "sober" halfway house, here he and the other inmates were allowed to come and go as they pleased and thus this is where he began having a sexual relationship with the substantially younger girlfriend he was seeding at the time he committed the Petit family rapes and murders,

That "younger Petit girl" was Michaela Petit eleven years old at the time of her murder, Komisarjevsky had the audacity to call her by her familial nickname during his lengthy "confession like" statement to police (KK) was in fact an endearment by her loved ones, a fact not over- looked by those of us familiar with child predators, sexual offenders rapists, serial killers and would be murderers.

Komisarjevsky acted out a fantasy of control and domination on an 11 year old child, yet as he recounted it to the Cheshire Police detective, knowing full well that Michaela Petit had burned to death in the fire he helped start, he actually made it sound as if there was some kind of "relationship"" between he and his victim calling her by her intimate family nickname K.K throughout the entire interview.

He even made a remark that their eyes locked" at one point and well one thing led to another.

"Their eyes locked" ?!

This means that Komisrajevsky had taken the pillowcase off of little Michaela's head at this point. This sexual assault which was but one of several that occurred over the course of the home invasion, was while Michaela's mother was at the bank with Steven Hayes, and Komisrajevsky was in effect alone in the house with both Michaela and Hayley.

Komisarjevsky in trying to eradicate the appearance of being a child rapist tries to manipulate what transpired between he and his victim by inventing some kind of " connection" with this undoubtedly terrified eleven year old child on an
who was in fact the entire motivation for Komisrajevsky's home invasion. He had never brought restraints and masks with him to a "robbery". We know what this man had in mind when he brought along restraining devices.

Earlier that same evening Komisarjevsky had molested Michaela quietly as her mom was tied to her own bed up the hall as he needed Jennifer Petit's compliance in order to obtain that cache of money from the Petit's bank account. For this reason only Komisrajevsky took great pains to be quiet about his molestations of Michaela up until the moment Mrs Petit left the house.

He made the child change from her Pajamas to a schoolgirl outfit in order to cut the clothing off of her body, again proving that this was not an incidental rape, a sexual assault that just "happened as opportunity just presented itself to Komisrajevsky. The school girl outfit is further proof of a pedophile mentality, and remember this man had a long long history of attraction to and involvement very young girls. He impregnated a 14 year old girl when he was 21. The child was born when the mother was 15 years old.

Komisrajevsky also took trophy's of his sexual assault on Michaela Petit. He took nude cell phone photos of the terrified girl tied to her bed, naked and half nude with close ups of her private regions.

Sadly this is telltale and textbook behavior of sexual predators. I am so very frustrated with this prosecution as they are the only ones who can be the voice for the Michaela Hayley and Jennifer Petit. If they would at least bring attention to these simple basics somewhere during this penalty phase it would help insure that this man gets the death sentence that he earned via every solitary step of these crimes.:

Komisarjevsky chose the victims. He dictated the crimes, the elocution to the smallest details; Such as Mrs Petit calling in her husbands sick-day in order to cover the fact that the Doctor would be missing his normally scheduled rounds at the local hospital where he worked. Steven Hayes certainly didn't think of these details. Joshua Komisarjevksy did all the thinking planning. This was HIS CRIME.

He merely used Hayes predilection for crime, as well as their obviously shared control domination sexual assault fantasy, that the two had clearly lit upon sometime after they met at an Hartford Connecticut halfway house during the last stages of their exclusive prison sentences. Before that stint Hayes who was raised fatherless in Winsted Ct, never knew each other. Komisrajevsky grew up in Cheshire Connecticut where he had a long arduous history with the local police from the age of 8 when he first began stealing panties from clotheslines and later peoples houses.

To hear Joshua Komisrajevsky described by the parade of witnesses who it seems were mere onlookers in his so called troubled life. That life was a life fraught with anti-social behavior which had at its core, a blatant disregard for rules authority, and moreover, the rights of his fellow human beings. This abuse of women started with his own sister and then any females that were in his periphery be it Cheshire Connecticut, Vermont New Hampshire and everywhere he went, he stalked, he stole lingerie, breaking into houses to do so and soon he was breaking into others homes " for fun"

The " fun" for Joshua Komisrajevsky was invading other peoples private domains, their sanctuary's. He enjoyed taking from and hurting others.He starting out laying in wait and trespassing and stealing trophy's always of a sexual nature - women's panties were a specialty of his. As a slight boy and later young man he had not emboldened himself yet to fully cross over and sexually assault, (besides his abuse of his own sister.) But any therapist looking at this mans childhood and criminal history and the Petit crimes can see the natural evolvement, These were Joshua Komisarjevsky crimes, and they were crimes of sexual predation, with his life long pattern of inappropriately young girls, in several cases - pedophilia at there core. The preference for young girls was simple; they are emotionally underdeveloped and therefore perfect for a predator.

This man was not a burglar, anything he stole was incidental. Joshua Komisrajevsky was a stalker and a sexual predator, committing sexual assault and then murder in an attempt to cover up his tracks to escape arrest and conviction, were completely predictable seleleque for this young sociopath. Even within his co called confession he is soon heard laughing and chuckling, despite trying to sound contrite as he begins the taped statement..

An eleven year old little girl her 17 year old sister and their vibrant and dearly loved young mother had just been killed in the most horrific fashion.

Komisarjevsky's Daughter forced to testify for him in Petit family assault/ Murder Trial

The above is a text message written by Joshua Komisarjevsky on the night of the Petit home invasion, mere hours before he sexually assaulted eleven year old Michaela Petit, taking pictures of the child in varying stages of nudity, tied to her bed amidst her stuffed animals, with a pillowcase over her head in some of the cell phone photographs found on Komisarjevsky when he was arrested.

Komisarjevsky would admit that at one point he "allowed the girl to take the pillowcase off" when he quote "allowed" Michaela to take a shower" after he claimed to have "only" ejaculated upon the eleven year old.

I propose that the pillowcase being off signalled that Komisrajevsky had already decided that Michaela and her family were going to die. Even though the convicted child rapist claimed to the Cheshire Police detective that he still wore his mask when Michaela Petit's pillowcase was off, it is quite clear that from his body type and voice, identification would have been very very easy for Michaela and her mother Jennifer Petit, who Joshua Komisrajevsky admitted speaking with at length throughout the home invasion.

Considering Komisarjevsky's reputation in Cheshire Connecticut, he had been in trouble with that Police department since he was a boy - among his "troubles" setting fire to an abandoned gas station at 13 - one can easily see that it was Komisrajevsky more-so than Steven Hayes, that would have been quickly taken in for questioning had he not been caught fleeing the murder scene.

As it turned out, when Cheshire Police arrived at the Petit home consumed in flames and a report of hostage taking for money, one of the lead detectives actually said   "if Joshua Komisarjevsky is out of prison he is definitely involved with this"

Komisrajevsky would later more or less admit within that same taped statement that he made Michaela shower in an attempt to rid her body of his DNA.

The shower incident changing turned out to be just one of a many versions and lies that Komisrajevsky told the detective during his hours long taped statement to Police.. Forensics proved that Komisrajevsky has sodomized the eleven year old, which is why he spent months concocting a similar thing happening to him as a child, knowing that having had the identical abuse as he wielded upon a 11 year old child, would serve him well with a jury as well as the public eye and even more importantly, the eyes of his parents, who he simply had to manipulate, as they were his only allies besides his attorneys, after he was caught fleeing these horrific crimes.

It makes one ponder what Joshua Komisrajevsky might have had in store for his own daughter, whom at the time of the Petit murders he'd just fought bitterly for and won primary custody rights. He won custody, despite having begun the process while wearing an ankle tracking bracelet c/o the State of Connecticut department of corrections.

Komisarjevsky, a parolee with over 30 felony criminal convictions, won primary custody of his then five year old daughter, a daughter whom he was so cavalierly referring to in this now infamous text as "the kid"

That kid" was recently primed and forced to testify on behalf of her now estranged biological father Joshua Komisrajevsky, a man who obviously could care less about what's best for his now nine year old daughter.

His biological daughter has been reportedly living with an anonymous maternal relative since Komisarjevsky's parents received a death threat letter against the child within months of the Petit family Kidnappings, assaults and murders. His parents, who Komisarjevsky lived with at the time of the murders, had applied for and were awarded primary custody of the child until the time that the threatening letter was received.

Apparently, the child's natural mother had once suffered from substance abuse issues and was reportedly experiencing some difficulties in out patient drug treatment when Komisrajevsky won a temporary bid for the child's primary custody. That custody surely never would have been granted back in 2007 if Komisarjevsky had not been living at his parents home in Cheshire, cost free, with built in baby-sitters -( his folks-) this, for the nights where Komisarjevsky was out creepy crawling through other peoples homes, after stalking the homeowners to insure that they were home, rather than the other way around, as most thieves or Robbers would do.

Joshua Komisrajevsky resumed his life ;long habit of breaking into other peoples houses the very same night that his Dept of corrections ankle tracking bracelet was officially removed as part of his parole conditions.
The very same evening he left his "beloved" daughter with his now aging and beleaguered parents who had helped him get custody ill advisedly thinking that the "responsibility would be good for Joshua".

These were the words of Ben Komisarjevsky on the witness stand while testifying for his sons defense attorneys at the start of this penalty phase charade designed to create as big of a smokescreen as possible in hopes of attaining a life sentence from this Jury instead of the death sentence that this man so richly deserves.

He made these crimes happen. He has shown absolutely no remorse, Shown, not spoken.

He even laughed at several points throughout his taped statements to the Cheshire Police. Despite after being taken into custody fleeing the murder scene in the Petit's car. He attempted to say all the right things at different times, no doubt trying to emulate what he thought a person with a conscience, who inadvertently got dragged into a multi murder against his will" would behave.

He failed miserably.

Laughing and chuckling while speaking to the Cheshire detective interviewing him Komisrajevsky spoke about the entire set of crimes in extremely detailed terms, using a flat unemotional voice that betrayed an absolute lack of care that he had just been party to stealing three lives off the face of this earth, having intended to kill four. Those three lives, unlike Komisarjesvky's, were going to continue to be charitable, giving and kind in spirit heart and self.

Sociopaths speak a lot, their words are very very cheap; most of what comes out of their mouths have a specific purpose, which is almost always to deceive and or manipulate others to do their bidding. In this case, this man is afraid of paying for his crimes with his life, as the law dictates in the State of Connecticut for Capital murders, with a certain amount of aggravating factors of which Komisarjevsky is guilty of many. Translated, he committed pre-meditated capital murders including one child and he committed those murders in a particularly cruel, tortuous manner. There was a great deal of suffering for his victims, they endured hours of captivity, only to be tortured and murdered what must be one of the most frightening ways to die.

And lest the jury forget, among all of these purposeful and deceptive distractions, Komisrajevsky is the man responsible for choosing these victims, based entirely upon his attraction to eleven year old Michaela Petit whom he spotted at that Stop and Shop supermarket the very day he broke into the Petit home.

He admitted to writer Brian MacDonald that he quote" liked the way the younger Petit girl looked"

For some reason the entire subject of MacDonald's book In the middle of the night" which was in effect, authored basically by Komisrajevsky while he met with the writer in prison, agreeing to interviews and letters to be used for purposes of publication of a book, supposedly describing the facts of the murders.

Albeit the "facts" were a utterly false rendition of what happened in the Petit home whereby Komisrajevsky tried predictably to shift all the blame for the murders onto his hand picked accomplice Steven Hayes, a man considerably less intelligent, less cunning, far less shrewd and I believe, less evil than his younger counterpart.

He had the audacity to taunt the sole survivor in this book, as well he did within his Journals and other writings found within his prison cell - papers he knew would be confiscated and thus eventually make their way to the media. After bashing a mans head in at least 8 -12 times with a bat, just so he could get at a child whom he wished to rape, Komisrajevsky co-writes a book breaking a gag order in an effort to BS the Jury pool as well as taunt the one survivor who as a sociopath, he sees as the one loose end he wasn't able to control within these crimes, and therefore his animosity towards William Petit is extremely clear and further proof of his absolute evil nature.

This is where people must learn to suspend their natural inclination to imagine that the bad guy must be the one who looks mean and has no one standing by him throughout the Judicial processes. This was merely fortuitous luck for Komisrajevsky, that his face had a certain arrangement of features, And it is most unfortunate, because our country, collectively speaking, would seem to be suckers when it comes to refusing to accept that a relatively normal looking, clean cut person, who came from a "decent" set of parents they appearing to play by all the rules of life... well then, it must have been the other mean looking guy.

Remember Casey Anthony? The outcome of this trial, including Casey's own attorneys zealous defense, is a perfect example of" bias based upon lookism" and in this case - genderism/sexism and classism for that matter. As well, just like Komisarjevsky, Anthony also had the advantage of of a good dose of parental enabling, particularly,Casey's mother, who actually lied on the stand over and over in attempt to spare her daughter from a murder conviction and subsequent death penalty for murdering her own child. And that mother, like Komisarjevsky's parents, refused to believe that her adult child could kill in cold blood. It must have been an accident" Mrs Casey convinced herself that the accident scenario was much more palatable to her parental conscience.

Right after the Petit murders, I recall a public statement being released by the Komisrajevsky family. As soon as I heard the choice of wording, I said to myself....Well, there you have it Denial at it's worst.

While of course being long time Cheshire residents and Christians, they were compelled to say something; What Jude Komisrajevsky said was something to the effect of " We are so sorry for the Petit family's loss and this whole terrible situation, we are at a complete loss -- we simply don't understand what made this happen"

Now right there, the Komiarjevsky's were separating the crimes, the murders and the rapes of the Petit family from their son. " What made this happen"

The inference is that some outside force, either Steven Hayes, or perhaps those demons that their son was always trying to blame his actions on,
(knowing full well that his evangelical parents believed in such things) perhaps the demons and Steven Hayes" made these crimes happen"

OK, your son has a life long history of breaking into peoples homes when they are occupied by the homeowners. He has an even earlier history of stealing women's sexual trophy's such as panties and other lingerie. He sexually assaulted his own sister and mentioned NOTHING about having suffered years of severe sexual assault by his foster brother at that point. He was caught setting a gas station on fire at age 13---which he since claimed to his defense hired psychiatrist was " an accident" . He has been having sex with underage girls since he was of a legal age.

But you" don't understand how this, the Petit crimes, home invasion, rape of a minor, extortion, his beating a sleeping man almost to death so he could rape the mans child HAPPENED?
And finally, the arson murder and attempted destruction of the crime scene.

None of this seems familiar Mrs Komisrajevsky? You don't understand what made this happen?"

I recall thinking all of these things when I read the official Komisarjevsky family statement soon after these terrible crimes.

Komisrajevsky was not a thief or a robber, as is evidenced by his very early habit of peeping into women and girls windows, climbing trees at times, hiding in bushes and stealing panties and other such trophy's" at the tender age of 8-10 years of age.

I cannot believe that this prosecution has not brought in a forensic psychiatrist of their own to point out that Komisarjevsky's problem wasn't"an untreated mood disorder"IE bipolar disorder, which Komisrajevsky's defense team dreamed up and steered their hired psychiatrists and psychologist to attest to once  given a tidbit of information from an anti-death penalty group in Europe whose sole job is to find mitigating factors for Americans with European descent,currently on death row or as in Komisarjevsky's case, charged with capital murder charges that could result in a death penalty sentence.

I read about this group months ago researching Komisarjevsky's adoptive past, and looking for mitigating factors" since he was adopted.

If Komisarjevsky had been adopted later, they would have searched for any information supporting possible abuse or even volatility in his birth mothers life while carrying! As it was, he was adopted in fact at 2 weeks old by Jude and Ben Komisarjevsky as this was the case they could only work with things like mental illness in his genetic family which they then proffer up to the attorneys to use for the defendant or convicted persons defense.

Whether the person committed the murders and or rapes and or other atrocities that they have been either charged with convicted of and or sentenced for, is of no consideration the this European based anti-death penalty group. They simply help anyone anyone who is of European descent in America that is facing a death sentence- period. They believe that the American death penalty is wrong, but they will aid and abet murderous child rapists and insidiously feed child killers attorneys monies derived from various sources such as wealthy people in Europe and abroad who do not believe in the death penalty, despite the fact that this country has been using lethal injection for many years, an incredibly kind way of removing extremely dangerous and evil murderers from our midst, people who may very well escape and commit more murders given half a chance.

Additionally this latest excuse for a mitigating factor, that Komisrajevsky was suffering from an undiagnosed mood disorder throughout his entire adolescence must be addressed and nipped in the bud for the Jury, and no one is doing, so as of yet. If, incidentally he did have bi-polar disorder which hundreds of thousands of people live untreated with as teens and adults, this was of little to no consequence in light of clearly more dominant "disorders" that komisarjevsky had.

I am speaking of personality disorders which includes anti-social personality disorder, which when one is under the age of seventeen is technically called oppositional defiant disorder, ODD, which in fact Komisrajevsky was diagnosed with right after setting the fire at the gas station at age 12 or 13.

This was when Jude Komisrajevsky, his mother, decided that if she followed the psychiatrists suggestion of putting Komisrajevsky on anti-psychotics, he would likely abuse and misuse them and it would then turn into another problem with her problematic son, and she was right.:

Komisarjevsky would never had adhered to a drug regimen-one can ascertain this simply by looking at all of his childhood behaviors up until that point. At the core of oppositional defiant disorder is a hatred for authority; No one is going to tell a oppositional defiant kid to take his medicine at such and such a time. That "kid"was already sneaking out of his window at night for years.He was stalking girls and stealing panties, breaking into homes, sexually abusing his sister and trying to make bombs.

And not that it has one ounce of relevancy except for me it speaks volumes of his propensity to fabricate and manipulate in order to not escape detection and thus culpability and punishment, I also do not believe Komisarjevky's story about rolling around in the thickets for a minute, so that he could quote"feel the pain in order to feel alive"

He probably read this somewhere as it relates to cutting and other behaviors of "Troubled teens and children and he latched right onto it. This man has proven via the Brian MacDonald letters and interviews, and even his own lie packed "journals" that were confiscated in his prison cell while awaiting his trial, that he lies

Nor do I believe that Komisrajevsky was continually sexually abused by his foster brother Scott, who molested their other foster child. I do believe that perhaps one incident might have happened and I know in my heart that if Komisrajevsky had been sodomized and left bleeding by his so called "brother" he certainly would have been telling the world this much sooner, trying to use it as a means of getting lesser punishments for his many many other criminal charges and convictions. He has had months and then years and years to dream this stuff up and that is what Sociopaths do. Komisrajevsky is intelligent in a certain sense; he is a master manipulator and he gravitates towards naive people people who have kind and decent natures as they are most likely to want to believe that no one who looks like him who is that young could be so very evil;

Unfortunately for us and Jennifer Petit Komisarjevsky does not have a prototypical face that most people, including Judge Blue, ascribe to killers and rapists, compared with Steven Hayes face and even his body type at the time of the murders. This is a country that foolishly continues to rely on peoples appearance when ascertaining whether they are likely to be a threat.

Poor Jennifer Petit likely fell prey to the fact that Komisrajevsky didn't "look like a man who would sodomize her 11 year old and murder her family after getting the money he so pleasantly asked for.  Remember, Mrs Petit told the bank teller " they're being really nice" as she referred to the men that invaded her house and at that point hadn't killed anyone yet simply because they hadn't gotten the 15,000 from Mrs Petit at that point which was the very last part of their" plan"

Thus, the men, led by Komisrajevsky, who did almost all the talking to Jennifer Petit, were "playing nice" in order to gain her compliance, knowing full well the gasoline had been purchased already in order to burn down her house and kill her family - the plan was laid out.

While Steven Hayes was dispatched by komisarjevsky to accompany Mrs Petit to the bank, thereby putting him in the position of risk if she were to run or tell authorities, he was safely ensconced at the Petit home, with Dr Petit beaten by his hands and a wooden bat tied to a pole in the cellar, and Komisrajevsky was upstairs in Michaela room, sodomizing the eleven year old whom he had waited patiently to do, as he could not afford to risk Jennifer Petit knowing what a monster he was before he got everything he wanted from her, including the ever important 15,000.

This is a man who is twice as evil as his accomplice Steven Hayes. Joshua Komsarjevsky played Jennifer Petit like a violin, because he knew she was a nice trusting person christian and like his own mother could easily be manipulated not wanting to believe that someone so young and relatively "normal looking" who spoke intelligently, was capable of being "nice" to her and her daughters- so she thought as she was tied up on a separate floor from Michaela's room and didn't know of the quiet sexual molestations that were going on throughout the early morning hours before she even left the house to get the money, as per Komisrajevsky's instructions.

Every member of this jury needs to look at Komisrajevsky and simply remember how he has manipulated so many people, all of his life, and this should in turn put anything that he has told anyone ( much less his lawyer funded shrink who has been paid to give a skewed regurgitation of Komisarjevsky's most recent claims about his childhood) none of which can be directly verified. All of the so called abusers in Komisrajevskys life were interviewed by these defense paid Psychologists and Psychiatrists. None of them have taken the stand as they would then have to be cross examined by the prosecutor, which the defense knows would equal their testimony falling apart; So this defense, ever the slippery eels, thinking this Jury wont know the difference, pull in Scott Reese, the learning disabled foster child, now an adult, who happens to be near retarded and possibly schizophrenic,And according to the therapist when asked about abuse of Komisarjevsky, Reese said simply something like that might have happened"

Besides the fact that we as well as the jury have no idea if this man even said that or to exactly what he was referring when he said it if he said it! Anything from did you two mutually masturbate, to did you play with his private parts might have been asked, we don't know what words Scott Reese was asked, as we only have the testimony of these two therapists who again are being paid big money by the defense to meet with komisarjevsky and briefly Mr Reese, and testify in a manner that will make komisrajevsky appear as abused as possible as a child.

There are no tape recordings of these sessions that these shrinks had with komisarjevskys supposed childhood abuser that turned him into an abuser. as well I have read for years that Komisarjevsky claimed one one sexual abuse at the age of 14, by someone he quote trusted." Now this has transformed magically into years and years, of not only abuse, but were now being expected to believe that Komisrajevsky was penetrated anally over and over and left bleeding.

Please.

Such as this supposed now five years of sexual abuse, which just a few years ago komisarjevsky claimed was one sexual assault at the age of 14 - In fact again, this is what he told writer Brian MacDonald and what he told his own mother while he was in prison for a string of burglaries. Burglaries of course being a misnomer as they were not burglaries at all, but in fact home invasion's,stalking, sexual predation crimes

Komisarjevsky, remember, only broke into homes when the residents were in them.

He called it a form of "extreme sport" His defense paid shrink would have us believe that poor Joshua Komisarjevsky had to break into our homes while we lay sleeping or watching TV or eating their dinner, not because he is a Sociopath, and has been since he was a young teen, but because of some made up for the occasion sexual abuse that he now is claiming to have endured silently. Only after having years to sit in prison dreaming up plausible scenarios for why he would sodomize an 11 year old child, set the poor child on fire, tied to her bed, along with her sister to destroy his DNA evidence and the witnesses in one act;

Both girls had gasoline poured on their bed linens, and their bodies, while they were alive.

Komisrajevsky, according to Steven Hayes and later admitting it himself, tied up Jennifer Petit after she returned from the bank with the 15,000 that he Komisrajevsky had asked for.

According to Hayes Komisrajevsky told him " take care of her" meaning to murder Mrs Petit.
Komisarjevsky had planned this all along; Jennifer Petit was now a serious threat to Komisrajevsky, an eyewitness to both men; she spoke to Komisarjevsky at length, according to both his interviews with MacDonald as well as Cheshire Police. Of course both versions contradicted each other but it is easy to see where the truth lay, and later Komisrajevsky would say, ' I shouldn't have talked to her, I liked her" meaning I didn't want to like her because she was going to be killed no matter what - she was a huge threat to Joshua Komisarjevsky, as was her daughter Michaela. Besides the DNA all over Michaela's bed in Michaela's body and her room both she and her mother had seen and heard way too much of him.

He was, after all, the Town of Cheshire's most well known thief home invader, arsonist stalker of young girls and general trouble maker. He had just gotten his GPS ankle tracker removed three days prior to these crimes.On the first and second night he took Steven Hayes to other homes in Cheshire, to perform break-ins, with small items stolen, merely to show Hayes " how easy it would be to get inside a home and take it over"

Cheshire "Lights Of Hope" Honors Petit Family

The Cheshire Lights Of Hope

In the middle of a great deal of struggle and angst in trying to attain Justice for the murders of Jennifer, Hayley and Michaela Petit, came a beautiful and miraculous display of unity, faith, love and hope - All qualities that embodied these three lovely human beings whilst they shared their earthy life among us.

The word HOPE stood out tonight like the brightly lit candles that lined the roads, the homes and the local business's, as they wound throughout Cheshire shining like a beacon of faith upon the town.

It seemed fitting that the word hope was heard over and over and an eye to the future was on so many people's minds and on their lips tonight: Love and Hope is what resides within when we choose to turn towards God and eachother.

Proceeds from tonight's ceremony will go to multiple charities including The Petit Family Foundation. The Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Cheshire Food Pantry and Cheshire's Human Service's Department. There were upwards of one hundred volunteers that made this event happen!

Bravo to the people of Cheshire, to all of the volunteers as well as the participants from all over the State of Connecticut!

Court Closings Add to ‘Criminal Justice Triage’

This is an older article from Connecticut News Junkie, but it explains one of the reasons that there has been such a difference in the Steven Hayes, and current Joshua Komisarjevsky trial's, insofar as the elaborate and expensive show that the Komisarjevsky defense has been putting on for well over a month.

The trial, now deep into the penalty phase, is parading out a gaggle of defense witnesses, culled from various stages of their client's "troubled" past.

That past includes a pattern of law breaking, arson, stalking behaviors, stealing and sexually assaulting his sister, bomb-making and the like.

The Defense witness list has also included a high paid Psychiatrist who the defense hired to meet with Komisarjevsky for well over a year while he has been imprisoned, now convicted of all 17 charges including capital murder and rape, in the Petit family murders. His hand picked accomplice Steven Hayes was convicted last year and was subsequently given the death penalty after a considerably shorter, less elaborate trial.

Steven Hayes Attorneys, Thomas Ullmann and Patrick Culligan were regular lead public defender's from Connecticut's Public defender's office, as opposed to their counterparts Jeremiah Donovan, Walter Bansley and Todd Russert who are "special Public defenders", hired by the state because the regular Public defender well was empty once Steven Hayes, who was tried first, was lawyered up - at the State's expense.

However the cost for Steven Hayes defense was considerably less than Mr Komisarjevsky. This is undoubtedly due to several factors, one of which is that Hayes unlike Komisarjevsky wished to plead guilty and indeed tried to change his plea to guilty, shortly before his trial began. His attorneys managed to convince him to keep his plea of Not Guilty standing, but their defense reflected a certain acquiescence to their clients desire to admit his basic culpability within the brutal crimes. However, Hayes still contends to this day that although he is a monster, Joshua Komisarjevsky is ten times the monster I am.

Another important factor in the disparity of monies spent on each man's defense is clearly the fact that Komisarjevsky basically "lucked out" when it was decided that Hayes would be tried first - This, because Steven Hayes had one extra criminal charge than Komisarjevsky. As a result of this decision, the entire regular Public defenders office was emptied via Steven Hayes's defense needs. and the special public defenders as described in this article, had to be solicited for Komisarjevsky;s defense.

As I recall, Jeremiah Donovan, a private attorney who was on the Connecticut special Public defender's list volunteered to represent Komisarjevsky. As a result, Komisarjevsky's defense has been financially fueled on a different scale altogether and the special public defenders have made full use of the monies at their disposal, causing a domino-effect on State Judicial resources.

There have also been peripheral anti-death penalty groups pitching in their services free of charge to the Komisrajevsky defense; An anti-death penalty group based out of England offered to do research on Komisrajevsky's biological family, in an effort to hopefully uncover something, anything that could be used as a mitigating factor, possibly saving him from a death sentence. The group which was once Russian- based has expanded in recent years to include all Americans of any European descent who are charged with capital crimes, or who are on death row.

As Komisarjevsky was adopted at two weeks old, the best the group could come up with was that there was some bi-polar disorder in his biological families history. It is safe to assume that this entiity ordinarily looks for possible abuse issues that an adopted child may have sufferred before being adopted, as well as posssible genetic mental illness etc, but it is clear that the relative with bi-polar illness was not one of Komisarjevsky's biological parents, as the subject of the familial bi-polar was introduced at the trial but it was merely mentioned that there was bi-polar mood disorder within his genetic background.

The State monies spent on Komisarjevsky's defense alone are said to have exceeded 700,000 dollars thus far, and it looks like a considerable bit more will be spent by the time this penalty phase is over, which is now being estimated by Judge Blue to last until mid-december.

Petit Trial Judge Sets hearing to Determine if Komisarjevsky's daughter Can Testify in Penalty Phase

The fact that the nine year old daughter of Joshua Komisarjevsky is being subpoenaed by this defense team should clearly illustrate, once and for all, that this convicted murderer and his lawyers do not care a whit about who gets hurt, even another young child, in their ego - based drive to get their client "off"

And by "off", I mean life in prison, rather than the death sentence that Joshua Komisarjevsky so richly deserves. From a criminal - judicial standpoint, there are plenty of aggravating factors, more than are required by State law for a Jury to award the death penalty to this man.

To call in the child of this convicted child rapist and murderer all in an transparent bid for a reflexive emotional reaction from the Jury ( IE " he's a father, so putting him to death is wrong or will negatively effect his child") while not a shocker to those of us who've been watching this trial, is by far the lowest maneuver yet from Komisarjevsky's defense attorneys. And there have been many many morally and ethically - vacant maneuvers throughout this trial, as well as the entire pre-trial phase.

Remember, this is the child he referred to as "the kid", as in "hold your horses dude, I'm putting the kid to bed" the ever so loving sounding text message that Komisarjevsky sent to his accomplice Steven Hayes, just hours before the pair were to meet up for the express purpose of breaking into the Petit family home so that Komisarjevsky could sexually assault 11 year old Michaela Petit, which he has thus been rightly convicted of.
Forensics proved that Komisarjevsky sodomized Michaela before dousing her in Gasoline and setting her and her sister on fire while tied to their beds.

Komisarjevsky had lied to Police, undoubtedly hoping the fire had destroyed all DNA evidence of the sodomy, which was in fact the fires primary purpose, as KLomisarjevsky claimed to police that he"only" performed oral sex on the girl, after cutting off her clothing with scissors, clothing that he made her change into from her pajamas, with another version citing that he " only" ejaculated upon her naked body, after taking off her pajamas in order to take nude photos of the chjild in order " to later blackmail Dr Petit with".
Being utterly "surprised" by Michaele's developed body, he opportunistically decided to ejaculate upon her naked stomach and then "allowed her" to take a shower, so that she could rid herself of him" ie meaning his semen.

In the taped statement to Cheshire Police Komisarjevsky would change that key portion of testimony, stating that he in fact ' asked her to take a shower" When the detective asked him if he allowed Michaela to take her pillowcase off her head whilse she showered, he actually had the audacity to laugh stumbling over the question nonetheless, saying no the pillowcase was off. The policeman asked did you have your mask on then...and JK hesitantly said yes in a most unconvincing manner. It was clear from his answers at this point that the pretense of pillowcases and masks had long since been abandoned as both men knew they were going to kill both girls and thier mother, especially once Jennifer Petit drove Steven Hayes to the bank.

These versions Komisarjevsky related to Cheshire police and various other sources, including a writer named Brain MacDonald whom he tried to spoon feed a bogus version of his part in the crimes, downplaying his role and of course pointing the finger at his own hand picked accomplice Steven Hayes, as the man who was responsible for all of the murders. MacDonald unfortunately published his book before the Hayes trial began and subsequently forensic testimony within that trial showed that Komisarjevsky lied to everyone (no big surprise there) and had in fact fully sexually assaulted the child in the worst way imaginable.

After the Hayes testimony and evidence made clear what Komisrajevsky had really done, MacDonald admitted that Komisarjevsky was extremely manipulative and had basically duped him, using his articulate nature and regaling him with stories of abuse etc, and outright lying about the facts of the Petit crimes in such a way that he had really believed him. Such is the way of the successfully deceitful sociopath. Add to this, Komisarjevskys relative youth and appearance and many people want to believe him when he turns on the innocent act, which this man can do at a moments notice. Those jurors not familiar with the sociopath and the textbook manipulation and often shrewd intelligence that acompanys them, might find themselves at a distinct disadvantage here.

Komisarjevsky had spotted Michaela with her mother earlier the day of the murders shopping at an area supermarket. Hayley Petit, 17 was in the car waiting for her mom and sister to finish shopping. Komisarjevsky followed Mrs Petit and her two pretty daughters back to their raised ranch home ( seen above after Komisrajevsky, the arsonist rapist/ murderer visited with his handiwork)

Attached is the official motion for a hearing to decide whether Komisrajevsky's now long estranged daughter will be forced to testify for no other reason than his and his lawyers selfishness and cowardice, in attempting to avoid a death sentence for the murders and sexual assault. Of course we can expect Komisarjevsky attorneys to be their typically mendacious selves and come up with something a bit more reasonable sounding than were trying to use a child who doesn't even know her father (the child is now with a maternal aunt since a threatening letter was sent to the child through Komisarjevsky's parentswho had custody for a time after the murders) to pull on the heartstrings of the jury. They will shape their bid or already have, into something sounding as close to legitimate as possible.

Children have been known to testify within the guilt phase of various murder trials over the years but it is completely unheard of in a penalty phase such as this to use a child in such an obvious attempt to gain some kind of credit pity or mercy simply based upon the fact that the convicted person is a parent.

Knowing Jeremiah Donovan and Co. they will undoubtedly drag in the fact that this sociopath Komisarjevsky was so clever that despite 48 burglaries he managed to fight for and win custody of his then 5 year old daughter - they have already injected this information, framed rather differently of course, into this trial at least a dozen times thus far, now they're going for the full out gamut - the child's appearance on video feed talking about what losing her dad who is a killer of a young girl not much older than she) would mean to her, as well they'd likely try to prompt any of her positive memories of dad etc.

Fortunately, even with Judge Blue's recent bizarre defense - favoring courtroom antics, I don't believe that he or any of the other powers that reign over this decision, ( D.C.Y.F etc ) are going to force this child to testify, in her fathers penalty phase due to the potential harm to the child's emotional welfare.
Let's hope and pray that the morally responsible decison is made. There is more than one innocent child's life to be considered within this decision; Michaela Petit was just two years older than Komisarjevsky's now 9 year old little girl when Joshua Komisarjevsky acting alone targeted Michaela for a home invasion revolving around the notion of sexually assaulting this child whilst the entire house full of people were under his control.

Cache of Komisarjevsky defense Witnesses Confirm his evolution into Sociopath/predator

It's day four of the Komisarjevsky penalty phase, day two of Jude Komisarjevsky's testimony, and we must once again thank Komisarjevsky's defense team for their parade of witnesses to corroborate what we already knew.

Joshua Komisarjevsky is a full-blown Textbook Sociopath and the symptoms began showing in earnest by the time he was fourteen years of age.

Sociopathology or "anti-social personality disorder" as is it's technical designation by the Diagnostic Statistical Manual, is not a mental illness, and it is not treatable by psychotherapy, counseling or psychiatry.

Therefore, Komisarjevsky's lawyers can get off this tired and unsound argument that  "'if only he'd been given the mental health treatment that he so clearly needed as a youth, instead of religious themed intervention ....the Petit family would be alive.

As well Benjamin Komisarjevsky can let himself off the hook, or rather let the State of Connecticut off the hook ie he claimed during his cross, that the State should have helped more in providing the professional counseling that the Cheshire Police said their son needed, this after the teen aged Komisarjevsky set fire to an abandoned gas station in town.

At the time the elder Komisarjevsky was financially unable to provide long term therapy for his troubled son, which was/is very expensive, especially when dealing with Psychiatrists, who are called in when psychiatric medication is indicated. In reality anti-social personality disorder is believed to usually be exacerbated by cognitive or talk therapy. The sociopath's tendency to lie and manipulate finds itself a perfect home in the "therapeutic relationship".

Their deceptiveness, knowing no bounds, they will often fake and malinger symptoms of other mental illnesses, after researching them, all in an effort to mislead the therapist and/or evade accountability for whatever actions landed them in therapy in the first place.  In some instances psycho-pharmacology such as Thorazine and other anti-psychotics have been used to basically defray the worst of the danger that the established sociopath poses to the people around him.

Such is the case with many a serial killer after they are imprisoned having been convicted for multiple murder and or rape. Thus it is not a treatment , but rather a type of pharmacological sterilization of the psyche after the fact. Sociopaths are notorious for refusing to adhere to medication regimens of this sort on an out patient basis; they do not wish to be dulled or made less dangerous. Remember control and power are their watchwords.
In any event pharmaceutical treatment for the budding anti social personality disorder is rarely used with adolescents however, as the diagnosis of oppositional defiant disorder the adolescent precursor to sociopath, usually takes a minimum of 6 months of psychiatric sessions to appraise and even then co-existing conditions like attention deficit disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, Bi-polar disorder etc any and all may complicate attempts to medicate the younger patient.

Much of the testimony from the defenses own character witnesses has centered around the notion that Komisarjevsky was a depressed teenager and later young adult. However once again a simple interpretation that anti-depressants would have helped the situation and his parents failed him by sending him to a bible based youth camp, is not only misleading but it is indeed false. Again, due to Komisarjevsky obvious concurrent diagnosis of oppositional defiant disorder which segue weighed predictably into anti-social personality disorder, would have made most or all anti-depressants contra-indicated. In other words anti-depressants easily could have made Joshua Komisarjevsky's already simmering rage issues and propensity for control and later, violence manifest themselves sooner or in an even worse capacity than his targeting for the Petit girls at the age of 27.

In Komisrajevsky case, I feel certain that this so - called rape that he told his mother about, for the very first time conveniently while in prison for a recent string of house burglaries, was, and is, nothing but utter manipulation; At that time Komisarjevsky was famous for his conciliatory routine, something his own father described in court just a day ago, citing that his son would write voluminous letters saying how sorry he was for his crimes/and or bad behavior, promising he would change, and become a new person. Bu then, his father sadly admitted, once back home Joshua would usually immediately return to the very same behaviors.

In their opening statement the defense belabored the fact that Joshua Komisrajevsky had been raised in a strict awful household weighted down by a christian mindset rather than elevated by his parents whose strong christian Faith is ultimately what led them to fall in love with each other as well as being so tolerant with their adopted son's continuous refusal to obey their household rules, which were not overly demanding, nor the general rules of society aka the law. Time and again Komisarjevsky seemed to take great pleasure in thumbing his nose at not only his parents Christian beliefs and ethics, but also state laws which he began to flagrantly break over and over again by the age of 14.

The fact that this would be murderer began acting out and becoming more and more unmanageable as a teenager sneaking out of windows at night, putting up satanic symbols on the walls of his bedroom, (something he knew would hurt frighten and be a direct affront to his extremely devout Christian Parents.) shows an escalating personality disorder. This is a bird of an entirely different color than any moos disorder such as bipolar or clinical depression.

The word frighten (aboveis the most essential part of the equation; Joshua Komisrajevsky hoped by use of satanic symbolizing and such to frighten his christian parents especially his clearly submissive mother whom he figured he could more easily gain control of . There goes the defenses earlier theory that Komisarjevsky's father was some kind of overly strict and rigid man; a fact that they'd actually brain washed this poor guy into believing and saying at his sons trial. Of course they probably framed it in such a way that if he said such and such he'd help the cause of saving his son's life blah blah blah"

If Ben Komisarjevsky were indeed the rigid strict scary father that the defense painted him as in their
opening statement this week, there is no way  in the world that Josh Komisrajevsky would have ever dared to sneak out windows, or put up satanic symbols on his bedroom walls. Never mind the words hate and murder and suicide for good measure, that one would surely grab the concern of his well meaning and long suffering martyring parents who by now he knew he could wrap around his psychopathic finger.

If anything,it sounds as if both Ben and Jude Komisrajevsky were entirely too permissive, thanks in part to the unusually patient, persevering nature that seemed inherent to their particular brand of Christian faith. Forgive forgive and forgive some more.

Komisarjevsky's mother describes a specific episode where her son Joshua had begun regularly sneaking out of his window at night in order to hang out with hoodlum type friends in the woods and elsewhere, purportedly showing an interest in satanic symbolism at that same time.

On this certain night, she and her husband realized Joshua Komisarjevsky was missing from his room and they called the Cheshire Police to try and find him. She described the scene when Police brought her son back to the house.claiming that there was a distinct change something was "different about Joshua, there was a cocky attitude and an anger that was literally emanating from him.

"His eyes were absolutely dead. It was like he was just dead.”

The anger and the vacant look was undoubtedly because his mother had exerted her authority over him and he was furious that he no longer felt control over the situation. Once the police picked him up and took him away from his friends, probably greatly embarrassing the teen who was trying to act like a total "bad ass" Having your parents send the police out to fetch you and bring you back home is not in the realm of "badassness." which he was clearly striving for, between the satanic symbols on the walls of his room,  along with words like hate death suicide -the latter a complete bid for his parents pity and concern knowing once again that their basic christian natures were likely to worry rather than judge or discipline.

Teenagers who have oppositional defiant disorder or something called Conduct disorder, show classic symptoms and Komisarjevksy began showing these very symptoms starting at the age of 12 or 13. By fourteen Komisarjevsky was literally transforming into a full fledged sociopath ( or what was once commonly called a " psychopath. "

Interestingly one of the most common physical descriptions that victims of sociopaths often relate to authorities is an "empty" or "dead" look in the eyes of their assailant (IE rapists, batterers or would - be murderers one such example was a woman that escaped Ted Bundy's clutches, by jumping out of his car door with handcuffs still attached to one of her hands. She told police and testified in court that suddenly he turned to her in the car and his formerly engaging friendly eyes changed, as did his entire countenance, into something akin to an animal.

This is what I believe Jennifer Petit experienced with Joshua Komisrajevsky. He was the one carrying on all of the friendly conversation for the greater part of the kidnapping. He kept everyone including Dr Petit calm by assuring all that no one would be hurt, as soon as we get the money well be on our way. Dr Petit said that the man who h9it him with the bat did all the talking - this was komisrajevsky. He also said that while the mans voice had been reassuring after he'd tied him and basically neutralized him, after he heard some banging noises upstairs and moaning which he thought might be his wife, that same voice suddenly became terribly sinister when petit yelled hey up towards the sounds of violence.

" Don't worry" the voice now said tauntingly with terrible sounding intent" it will all be over in a few minutes..."
Ironically it was Komisarjevsky-the-sociopath's pleasure in wielding power that ushered William petit to muster the last bit of strength he had to break loose of the plastic zip tie binds on his hands, hop up the steps of his cellar and roll his body to his neighbors garage yelling to call 911, ultimately becoming the sole witness against him.

Victims of such men will describe these eyes as not human, soulless, sometimes resembling predatory animal such as sharks which statistically are the most mentioned.

I have to say I've never seen a penalty phase of a trial so excessive, so overt in its attempts to manipulate the jury. Also a bone of contention is that the presiding Judge Blue, typically a no nonsense jurist, is either walking on eggshells with this defense now afraid of a mistrial or valid grounds for appeal at this late stage refusing every one of the prosecutions rarely used and as a result unusually fair objections to what has become an overload attempt at humanizing a convicted child rapist and triple murderer.

This Jury and now the entire public, have literally been bombarded with childhood photographs of this pedophile, rapist, assailant and triple murderer, Joshua Komisrajevsky, frequently referred to lately as "Josh" From infancy to toddler-hood we have been deluged with photo after photo of this man as a innocuous looking child, wearing his daddy's clothes, eating a birthday cake and even painting a white picket fence.

Yes, you heard it right - a white picket fence.

And the prosecution objects, asking for relevancy of these photos, and Judge Blue overrules the objections.

What I'd like to know is:
Where are the family photos of Joshua Komisrajevsky's murder victims?
Why are there none to defray the emotional reflex that the defense is hoping the jury will feel over the sight of this murderer as an innocent child?

Where are the photos of a beautiful little girl named Michaela Rose Petit, Joshua Komisrajevsky's very own special target of choice - in case of point, the very reason that the Petit home invasion happened in the first place? Michaela Petit was a beautiful baby, a beautiful child and moreover she had a beautiful little soul and this world has been robbed of her -  Because angry sociopath Joshua Komisarjevsky decided that he wanted to rape a pretty and sweet little girl just budding into a teenager
destroy her innocence and  take control of her entire household, starting with the near fatal neutralization of the only real threat in the house, William Petit Jr.

It is Michaela Jennifer and Hayley Petit's photos that this jury should be spending their time with. Or at the very least,spending equal time with. Instead day after day images of Joshua Komsarjevsky and his various childhood events, are shown on a giant screen before the Jury and in Newspapers and Blogs,
The photos taken before he became the sullen, violence- pondering teen,and later full grown man
a Parolee that kidnapped, tortured and murdered a little girl named Michaela, her beloved sister Hayley and her equally beloved mother Jennifer Petit whose bed she was sleeping in when this man
grabbed her away and led her to her own bed tying her hands and feet as tears ran down her face.
And what about photos of lone survivor and still grief stricken William Petit Jr on his wedding day kissing his wife whose fatal mistake in life was trusting Joshua Komisrajevsky and taking him at his word when he promised not to hurt her family. Bill Petit was a healer,a wonderful doctor before Joshua Komisarjevsky entered his home intent upon bashng the sleeping man's head over and over with a bat,
as he slept on his own sunroom couch.

Certainly this Jury needs to see these photographs more than they need to see the killer's coming out photos. Again, I am disappointed with the State prosecutors - They were well aware that this defense team had an elaborate "show" prepared for the penalty phase of this trial And despite the fact that they knew that it was going to be a great deal of smoke and mirrors, there was an enormous witness list at the central core of this mass illusion for the sake of the jury as well as the media, who they've been courting all along,despite their incessant protestations about their presence.

This being what it is and was, the State had a moral obligation-not necessarily to sink to their Nemesis's level, but rather to ensure that the defense did not pull off any of their main objective; to convince even one member of this jury that Joshua Komisarjevsky was so emotionally damaged as a child and teenager from neglect and alleged sexual abuse,that his evolution into murderous criminal behavior was inevitable.

The assertion that he'd never been violent within any of his crimes before teaming up with one Steven J Hayes also should have been carefully dissected and the actual truth laid out clearly, cohesively and with the use of specialists such as criminal/forensic psychologists hired to evaluate the dynamics of the two men, using the massive amount of evidence as well as each mans psychological profile to illustrate to this jury that Joshua Komisrajevsky was most assuredly the leader, the brains, and the instigator of the entire criminal event including the murders which were decided the moment he sexually assaulted Michaela Petit.

Joshua Komisarjevsky's personal life and criminal history should have been scrutinized as well as the
defense's own forensic psychologist's findings, via the paid hired shrink whose testimony echoed everything the defense wished it to.

The Jury needed a 1 day lesson in anti-social personality disorder, oppositional defiant disorder,

and extremely essential the symptoms of the evolution of a sexual predator, of which Komisarjevsky left a veritable trail of symptomology and an unusual boldness starting at an early age when he began peeking into houses stealing panties off clotheslines.

The Jury and the entire courtroom have now listened to nearly a week of talk and testimony about this convicted assailant rapist and murderer's life; First they endured a lengthy opening statement by his defense attorney's who melodramatically proclaimed that Joshua Komisrjevsky was "doomed from birth" An insulting and arrogant assertion, both from a psychiatric standpoint as well morally a purposely dishonest railroading of Komisarjevsky's well meaning if anything overly tolerant adoptive parents, who big sin, according to omniscient Jeremiah Donovan, a man who could give Komisarjevsky a run for his money in the arena of shameless manipulation and mendacity, was their commitment to their Christian Faith.

Never a hand was raised to Joshua Komisrajevsky. No one verbally abused him and it would certainly appear that he was not neglected, from a basic needs standpoint as well as the love of two parents who refused to give up on what was clearly a problem teenager and later young adult.

Mr and Mrs Komisrajevsky took their son back into their home every single time he broke the law and indeed ultimately embraced him. Every time he ran roughshod over the rights of others, starting with lighting gas stations afire, invading neighbors homes and robbing them-for sport" He committed voyeurism with a young girl he fancied, stalking her from trees and bushes on her property, literally making this girls life miserable, according to Cheshire police detectives.

And more and more brazen thievery. Satanic worship, undoubtedly designed to frighten his parents into leaving him alone and not trying to put constraints on him, this at age 14 while still living in their house, eating their food, and happy to use their middle class respectability to get out of his latest scrapes with the law. The satanic worship behaviors were obviously a backlash against what komisrakjevsky saw as his parents attempts to control him and a more authoritative approach to his increasingly defiant behavior, such as sneaking out of his bedroom window in order to spend the nights out.

It was becoming more and more important to Joshua Komisrajevsky to be the one in control.

The Petit family home invasion was planned around the desire to commit sexual assault -rape, a crime that forensic psychologists have known for years is all about power and control. The State prosecutors might have read excerpts from Brian MacDonald's paperback novel, based almost solely upon the claims of Joshua Komsarjevsky who was in prison awaiting the trial of his accomplice Steven Hayes. Hayes Jury selection had yet to be scheduled when the book, which began in a first person narrative as if in the mind of Komisarjevsky, was published and offered in area Bookstores.

Komisarjevskys claims of innocence were largely disproved within the forensic evidence shown during the Hayes trial. But in it he predictably tried to shift all of the capital crime blame upon his accomplice..yet at times he forgets his goal and repeatedly betrays himself . He admits to " his demons getting the best of him" when sexually assaulting Michael Petit only 11 years old. Although this is akin to voices telling someone to kill another, it is still an admission of guilt.Komisarjevsky also admitted to MacDonald that this was never supposed to be a regular robbery, altho he lamely tries to cite Hayes as the one who came up with the idea of armed robbery he again shows his true colors when saying when he saw the Petit family at the Stop and Shop "he liked the way the younger Petit girl looked" He went on to tell MacDonald that a home invasion where the people would be tied up all night, opened up all kinds of possibilities.."

For whatever reason the state never brought this book into evidence or question, nor did they call Brian MacDonald as a witness. The book, which was clearly hastily written and poorly edited, came out months before the start of Steven Hayes trial. It was an emotional blow to the still grieving community of Cheshire, not to mention people both in and out of the state who heard about it, or read the many excerpts that were being published all over the Internet.

It was like a scab that had just begun to form, out of nowhere being ripped off.

And for the many people who have been erroneously led to believe that Komisarjevsky was sexually abused when younger and thus, sexually abused his sister as some kind of natural response to his own abuse, I must inform all that this is nonsense!

The so called early sexual abuse that Komisrajevsky retrospectively claimed to have suffered , at the hands of a learning disabled foster boy that his parents took in, was never mentioned to either parent until until Komisarjevsky was about to be sentenced for his first string of home burglaries.

It was and is yet another ploy devised first by Komisrajevsky himself, and now the water is being carried forward by his ever gullible overly trusting mother and father, who simply cannot or will not face the truth that their son was not abused and thus became an abuser, he was not under satanic influences as a teen, but rather was himself an evil influence: first upon his sister and parents, then upon his neighbors as he snuck into their houses while they were home stealing small items and escaping by bicycle, later boasting about how he duped police for years by "blending in" - the very same tactic that he bragged about to writer Brian Macdonald when speaking about targeting Michaela, Hayley and Jennifer Petit at the Cheshire Stop and Shop, ultimately following the females back to their home, deciding to come back later with a second man in order to better ensure control of any male head of household..

KomiaRarjevsky also inflicted his " evil infulences" upon a local girl whom he stalked and terrorized for years stealing her panties and watching her from trees outside her bedroom window. Around the age of 12-13 he began setting fires which is a glaring symptom of" the sociopath triad" He easily could have caused loss of life when decided to set an abandoned gas station in Cheshire on fire for no other reason than his own sick entretainment.

There is absolutely no proof, no documentation of one solitary episode of sexual abuse in Joshua Komisarjevsky's childhood or adult life, yet this Jury and the public has heard this repeated mantra, despite the fact that it is mere rhetoric re sexual abuse that cannot be backed up with any factual findings or witness corroboration - Nothing but the claims of a sociopath whose main psychiatric features are deception, manipulation and often, an articulate and persuasive nature that studies other peoples weaknesses and as such, what to say to whom, in order to escape accountability and encourage pity or misplaced empathy and loyalty.

IGNORING the rights of others, and being destructive influence in their families communities and the world at large, consistently laying the blame upon others. This is the young Komisarjevsky an oppositional defiant disorder to a tee, quickly becoming a full blown Sociopath with aa lot of help from ignorant but sometimes well meaning Chrsitian people who make excellent victims for the sociopaths who are reknown for preying upon overly kind trusting people.

I am surprised that the State is not objected more readily and more often as to this by now constant refrain regarding Komisarjevsky's supposed sexual abuse as a child and now a teen. We've heard and read about 6 versions of what ages this man was when he reportedly was "abused" as well as many different versions of when he decided the time was just right to share this information with his parents, police, the court system, and apparently while serving time in prison, when his mother was visiting and he undoubtedly was setting her up.

outlining his progression into the evil abyss - albeit with a somewhat less than impartial, steeped in denial parental narrative.

In today's testimony, Jude Komisarjevsky spoke a good deal about her convicted rapist/murderer son -including his behavior in the weeks leading up to the Petit family murders: She related a scene wherein she caught her son watching adult pornography on a household computer. More telling than the excessive amount of pornography websites that Joshua had visited, according to the computer's history, was the quote " angry look upon Joshua's face" as he watched a pornographic video unaware that his mother was watching him.

The computer's history showed that Komisarjevsky had visited over 900 adult pornographic websites in the week before he committed the Petit family sexual assaults and murders according to his mother.

A similar "angry and "sullen" look was cited by "friends" of Komisarjevsky who had thrown a Keg party for him, to celebrate the removal of his Connecticut Department of Corrections GPS tracking anklet.( Yeah, I know, great reason for a "party")

The removal of the ankle tracker also marked the cessation of Komisarjevsky's Parole Curfew, which up until that point in time had been the standard 9 pm that was part of his Parole conditions. During that same probationary parole period, Komisarjevsky was subject to random drug testing and was not supposed to socialize with people using drugs or other convicted felons.

Witnesses at the " party", which took place several days before the Petit murders, cited that Komisarjevsky was obsessed and fuming over the fact that his latest teen aged girlfriend, Carolyn Meisel had moved to Arkansas - or more aptly put, was moved there, by her undoubtedly shrewd parents, who could not have been comfortable with Komisarjevsky's burgeoning criminal record and the considerable age difference between their daughter and her new " boyfriend."

It seemed to everyone at Komisarjevsky's "anklet party" that despite his new found "freedom", all the sullen
faced Komisarjevsky had on his mind was his recently departed teen girlfriend; He also shared with numerous friends that he was in need of a large sum of money to bring his girlfriend back to Connecticut where he imagined them living together.

Komisarjevsky had just won custody of his 5 year old daughter, somehow managing to con the State into awarding him full custody despite an extensive felonious criminal record. The child's mother was in an outpatient drug clinic and supposedly had some kind of recent outburst for which she received disciplinary action for. Komisarjevsky claimed to everyone that he was worried that the child's mother was using drugs, but in my estimation as a sociopath Komisarjevsky was a control freak, he resented the child support that he had been remanded by the State to pay his ex, despite the fact that he lived at his parents house completely cost free,

The fact that Komisarjevsky actually won a custody battle with his child's natural mother in the middle of such tumultuous life circumstances, only illustrates how well certain sociopath's can mime whatever they wish to project ( ie a concerned responsible young parent who despite getting into some criminal trouble early in life had now decided to use his child's birth as motivation to turn his life around.....) as well as manipulate people and even entire Government agencies.

Komisarjevsky's latest in a string of much younger girlfriends had actually met him while in prison for his last string of burglaries, she was accompanying an older friend who had once been Komisarjevsky's girlfriend but was now" a friend". Soon thereafter, the younger girl began visiting Komisarjevsky alone in prison and corresponding with him throughout the rest of his prison sentence. The two reportedly developed a physical relationship when Komisarjevsky was transferred to a halfway house from prison after serving a mere two and a half years of a nine year prison sentence that the presiding Judge insisted upon at his last sentencing hearing. *This was one of three major screw-ups by the State of Connecticut that contributed to, or directly caused the murders of Michaela, Hayley and Jennifer Petit as well as the near fatal assault of William Petit Jr.

Witnesses have testified that Komisarjevsky liked to take cell phone photos of his much younger teen aged girlfriend nude as well as photographing himself with her having sexual relations. At one point Komisarjevsky snapped a series of pornographic photos of the two having intercourse in a Manchester Mall public restroom. Sources close to Komisarjevsky said that he would then share these photos with male friends and acquaintances.

Joshua Komisarjevsky was arrested carrying a cell phone containing nude and semi -nude photos of eleven year old Michaela Petit tied to her bed. She was dressed in a skirt and blouse in one photo, which Komisarjevsky admitted to cutting off with a scissor. The fact that the cell photos showed Michaela with different clothes on, proved that Komisarjevsky was making this girl change into various outfits in order for him to enhance his sick criminal fantasies.

Michaela had been in Pajama's when the two men broke into the Petit's home. The pajamas were obviously removed at some point and Michaela was re-dressed in a plaid skirt and white blouse akin to a school girl outfit, classic pedophile behavior. Photos of the little girl's private area were also confiscated..

Komisarjevsky has since been convicted of sexually assaulting, sodomizing and murdering eleven year old Michaela Petit. He was convicted of 16 other crimes committed at the Petit home on that fateful July morning, including the near deadly and brutal baseball bat assault on William Petit Jr's head, causing massive blood loss TBI and shock, Arson and capital murder charges for the deaths of Hayley and Jennifer Petit. The Petit females were chosen and targeted by Komisarjevsky who was alone when he spotted the family at a local Stop and Shop earlier on the day of the home invasion. He admitted to following them home and proceeding to size up their house for a home invasion that he planned on committting later that night.
Serial killer Ted Bundy admitted to a life long addiction to pornography during an interview that he gave on the day of his execution. He claimed in the video-taped interview that the pornography he viewed since he was a young man, centered around the debasement and objectification of women, and this incited him to grow more and more desensitized, eventually acting out the scenes of bondage and violence that he viewed over and over again. This, he concluded, played a big part in leading him to a life of serial rape sadism and murder.

Bundy was famous for his boy next door pleasant looks, persuasive manner, a keen and shrewd intelligence that included an extremely articulate nature... but most of all, he became known for his ability to manipulate and lie convincingly. He often charmed and bamboozled his C.O's guards and Police and as expected with a sadistic sexual sociopath this had deadly consequences; At one of the various holding cells where he was kept during court appearances Bundy managed to escape through a window in a room that he was not supposed to be. It was during this short lived escape that he bottomed out killing the youngest of his victims 11 year old Kimberly Leach.

And although at first Bundy angrily and vehemently denied having any responsibility for any of the rapes and murders of the slew of young women he'd been arrested for killing, even accusing the presiding states attorney (prosecutor) of using him in an effort to gain political clout for future endeavors.
Despite his rather loud initial protestations, Bundy later admitted to all of the rapes and murders and "hundreds" more.

In fact, Ted Bundy managed to stall his eventual execution for several years, through an unusual offer to authorities to disclose the burial sites of more than 20 additional women whom he had raped and killed over the years, yet was never connected to.

Once those victim's bodies were recovered, Bundy, ever the manipulator, tried to continue this "Deal" infinitum, desperately trying to stall his execution in whatever way he could - but the States attorney's office finally said enough is enough, and in 1980, Theodore Bundy was finally executed by the electric chair.

It's day two of the Joshua Komisarjevsky penalty phase and I must thank his defense for basically doing the prosecutors job for them.

The prosecutors ill advisedly kept their penalty phase presentation to the barest of minimums, closing their entire case,within the first day of presentations. In fact, their entire penalty phase presentation was relegated to one witness who simply listed Komisrajevsky's entire list of criminal convictions and an earlier submitted list of " aggravating factors" that they clearly felt more than supplied the jury and the court with the legal requirements for awarding a death penalty sentence to Komisrajevsky.

Despite being forewarned last week that Komisrajevsky's defense was planning upon an hour long opening statement, which required the approval of Judge Blue due to its lengthiness, the prosecution did not prepare a opening statement of their own. Obviously Michael Dearington believes that the evidence alone speaks for itself and no matter what the deense throws at the jury he need'nt respond in kind even if it is merely to put the facts into an emotional framework that combats the defenses manipulations to the contrary.

Despite shaking his head in apparent disgust, Michael Dearington did not object to the hour long statement.

The prosecution was given a list of the Defenses many witnesses for this penalty phase weeks ago, this was also a major clue as to how long the defenses penalty phase was going to last, with reports in the media as long as a month ago stating that the penalty phase could take up to 3-4 weeks, based upon the defenses witness lists alone among other things.

Overdoing everything has been the defining style of the Komisrajevsky defense: time consumptive, manipulative, laborious and wasteful. However, the State of Connecticut, led by Prosecutor Michael Dearington has a duty to think on their feet, and while I expected Dearington's presentation during this penalty phase to be in keeping with his usual " keep it short and simple" mindset, a defining style of his throughout his career and both the Steven Hayes and Joshua Komisarjevsky's trials, he really dropped the ball as far as this penalty phase as far as I'm concerned.

The Hayes trial was a bird of an entirely different color, despite the fact that Hayes was an accomplice in the Petit murders and indeed his charges almost identical to his partner in crime Komisrajevsky's.

The big difference here was the fact that Steven Hayes was a man who was physically and emotionally began disintegrating from the moment he was imprisoned for these crimes: Joshua Komisrajevsky had no such disintegration for he has no conscience, and far too much narcissism to allow any thoughts of remorse, regret despair or dictate his outlook or his behavior. Joshua Komisrajevsky is truly soulless.

Hayes, who was convicted on sixteen of seventeen of these counts, now on death row, was no prince by any stretch of the imagination. I truly believe that much of his weight loss and depression had more to do with his treatment at the hands of guards and such than any true guilt or remorse over the murders of the Petit family women and children.

While I am sure he had remorse about the crimes as it related to getting caught and his current predicament, I think his feelings of hopelessness and despair which were evident in a much publicized suicide attempt, revolved around the reality that he was going to spend the rest of his life a pariah, alone in a cell, unable to even enjoy the social network that his old prison days had at least afforded him.

And remember this was a man who had spent more of his adult years in prison than he had outside of prison. Due to the nature of the crimes and the fact that sentencing and parole reforms had been a direct result of those murders, ensured that Hayes and Komisarjevsky were going to spend the rest of their terms in prison protected in solitary confinement, no matter what the verdicts, nor the sentencing rendered for each man.

According to Hayes, early on in his incarceration prior to being moved to another prison, prison guards were overtly hateful toward him - this man who was obviously complicit in the rape of Jennifer Petit and the gasoline fueled burning deaths of her two young daughters. The guards Hayes said were making" his life miserable" purportedly messing with his meals to the point where Hayes would wash every bit of food in water before eating it, leading to a substantial weight loss from the first day of imprisonment.

I saw Steven Hayes several months after his arrest at a probable cause hearing and I believed myself to be in the wrong courtroom, such was his stark change in appearance. Gone was the burly man in the mugshot photos taken the day of his arrest fleeing the Petit murder scene: He was almost thin, his formerly shaved head now bearing tufts of gray hair that stood out in random sprigs and appeared to not touched a comb in ages. He did still have some fight in him however as I recalled him nodding emphatically at the judge as his lawyer Thomas Ullmann complained about the amount of publicity that the crimes were receiving, citing the latest statistics in Blog articles alone to the presiding Judge.

In any event, as the months wore on Steven Hayes received some letters from his brother Matthew who it seems encouraged him to do the right thing for the first time in his life and admit accountability for his actions; He basically told his brother, who had been mostly estranged from him his entire life due to his insistence upon pursuing a life of crime, to plead guilty. Hayes crimes seemed to largely revolve around the continuous pursuit of drugs (crack) and prostitutes, always getting caught by police, basically because
he was a clumsy thief, a disorganized criminal and one that clearly didn't think his crimes out. He simply acted in desperation for money for drugs and got caught as a result.

As his trial neared Steven Hayes decided for whatever reasons that he wished to change his plea to guilty. In a preliminary hearing for his trial Hayes surprised everyone, including his own attorneys apparently and suddenly and quite assuredly tried to plead guilty right then and there. Unfortunately and rather ridiculously, Connecticut law disallowed Steven Hayes from pleading guilty at that particular point in his judicial process, a fact that still amazes and disgusts me. We have so perverted our system that it has become one wherein the very person who has committed multiple murder, rape, kidnapping arson is not allowed to plead guilty in a court of law.

The court and the lawyers won. They worked on Hayes and wore him down, eventually talking him into not changing his plea when the time finally rolled around where he might be allowed to plead guilty by the Connecticut court system. However Hayes was a man still bent on admitting at least the basic truths of the crimes he committed on the night of July 23rd 2007.

As such he greatly binded the hands of his lead attorney Thomas Ullmann, a pugnacious upstart, who loved a fight and seemed intent upon saving the lives of men who took the lives of others, in often brutal and terrifying fashions; In fact he made a career of it. Attorney Ullmann, a man who usually employed any and all of the usual despicable mendacious attorney tactics, was forced to follow the wishes of his client, lest he lose him completely again. And thus, in his opening statement, we were made privy to the likes of the whole mood of the trial to follow, something that undoubtedly made Ullmann extremely uncomfortable and his instincts stymied.

"We will concede much but not all" he said to the Jury in his opening statement. Various local attorneys took note of the usual bull dog Ullmann's unusually docile approach in defending Hayes.

And so he did and with much restraint held back his usually aggressive and standard fare for defense lawyers manipulative flair, a style that Joshua Komisarjevsky's lead attorney appears to have anxiously taken the baton from, in this the spectacle that has become the trial of one Joshua Komisarjevsky.

Komisarjevsky unlike Hayes is in fact the brainchild, the mastermind, and the executioner of the Petit family home invasion, a set of crimes that he not only devised, but carried out with complete and utter precision and an attention to detail that Hayes so obviously lacked. The end result, the murders of Jennifer Hayley and Michaela Petit having been decided the moment he cracked William Petit Jr over the head with a baseball bat so many times that he lost count hitting him "as hard as I could as if chopping wood"

In any event, by choosing to use Ben Komisarjevsky as a witness and a star witness in his sons penalty phase the defense has ultimately only helped the jury to see many of the qualities that Komisarjevsky had since he was a young teen, and how those qualities and behaviors steadily lead to a persistant return to a life of crime and the eventual targeting stalking and rape of Michaela Petit and the murders of three members of the Petit family on July 23rd 2007.

Through their client's father's testimony, which was supposed to provoke compassion for the convicted murderer, the defense inadvertently managed to outline Komisarjevsky's criminal and amoral evolution, his tendencies to pathologically lie, to manipulate, to steal, to stalk, and worse, sexually assault, in this particular testimony it was his own sister that he sexually molested according to Ben Komisrajevsky who claimed we just didn't know what to do"

By listening to the elder Komisrajevsky, we see two Christian based parents completely ill-prepared to deal with a evolving sociopath; Trying to do their best with what they knew, using their Christian faith, something that they themselves had been taught as youths, to continuously, unfailingly and loyally attempt time and again to help their problematic son from turning to evil every chance he had to do right.

Nothing worked.

The most telling piece of testimony today from Ben Komisarjevsky were the many letters his son would send him from whatever place he'd most recently landed as a result of criminal activity. When he was younger it was a christian based camp in New Hampshire, later it would be prison. The letters his father said would always be filled with apologies about his latest criminal behaviors and promises to change. His father rather sadly related that none of the promises ever came to volition and that hi son always returned to the exact same behaviors that led him into the intuitions that he found himself in.

These letters and moreover the manipulation behind them is classic sociopath behavior. Komisrajevsky knew he had a mark in his father, just as he did with his mother the ever patient martyred Christian mom, refusing as did her Hinda to give up on their son despite the continuous reasons to do just that. Joshua Komisrajevsky was smart enough to know that he needed Ben and Jude Komisarjevsky as they were his only allies in life and as such he used their own Christian Faith to bamboozle them and keep them on the hook, as it were. I know very few parents that would have put up with the behaviors and continuous trouble that Joshua Komisrajevsky got into. Because of faith, the Komisrajevsky's inadvertently enabled Joshua over and over again, through denial and then simple enabling.

Even on the night of the Petit murders we see two enabling parents, complicit via their denial. Their son who was recently paroled from prison, had just had his GPS tracking anklet removed a few days earlier.

The very night that he had it removed Komisarjevsky admitted to Police that he was breaking into Cheshire homes with accomplice Steven Hayes in tow. Hayes says that Komisrajevsky was priming him to see just how easy it would be to pull off a home invasion. An invasion that undoubtedly included sexual assault and if lucky a greater cache of money or stolen goods that would translate into money for the pair. Komisrajevsky resented the child support money he had to pay for his then 5 year old daughter. Despite having a full time job as a roofing worker which was part of his parole agreement, sociopaths like Komisrajevsky believe that they are special and they see regular working men, like his own father as fools working stiffs" something they disdain the very notion of due to their narcissistic vision of themselves and the world.

This outlook fueled much of Joshua Komisrajevsky behaviors from the time he was a young adolescent on, puberty is the atypical age whereupon the behaviors associated with oppositional - defiant disorder begin to rear their ugly head in earnest. This disorder is a well known predictor and precursor to becoming a sociopath and includes such behaviors such as fire setting, stealing, animal cruelty, pathological lying and manipulating and getting into trouble at school and or with the law. At it's core this personality disorder which is not a mental illness has as Its main component is a complete disregard for rules and regulations and the rights of others.

Komisarjevsky Statements To Police Cannot Be Suppressed, Judge Rules

I am glad to see that Judge Blue didn't back down on this issue.

As the trial has approached the Penalty phase I've noticed that Judge Blue has approved a record number of defense requests, no matter how manipulative or excessive their demands. I am sure the Judge is simply being especially cautious with any and all of his rulings at this crucial stage in the trial proceedings.

He undoubtedly considered that it better to err on the side of caution, rather than give this defense any reason that they can distort into a valid appeal within the higher courts, or even a possible mistrial. Defense attorney Jeremiah Donovan has already made at least five motions for a mistrial, begginning the very first day of the trial proceedings.

One particularly memorable one was a situation wherupon Judge Blue noticed a juror crying and stated that it appeared a "juror was having a hard time" and he chose that particular time to end the days proceedings.
This statement of Judge Blue's was" prejudicial to his client" Donovan claimed and he motioned for a mistrial.

It has become a classic " boy who cried wolf ' situation, and yet the Judge must take every motion seriously, no matter the fodder involved, and respond to it thoroughly in kind. And Judge Blue has done a remarkable job - he is an excellent scholar of case law and state law and his responses to motions have been exceedingly articulate and at times eloquent.

It must be challenging when dealing with a defense that abuses the judical process in hopes of wearing down the prosecutors, the Judges patience, as well as the surviving victim and his families.
This defense, led by Donovan has claimed that just about everyything has been prejudicial to his client. This of course includes the latest move to suppress Komisarjevsky's own mention of his voluminous conviction record within the taped statemenst to police. The convictions all centered around breaking and entering into houses with the odd habit of waiting until the residents were in the home. Robbery seemed secondary, the invasion and stalking seemed the motivating force behind what was clearly

The decision to allow in as admissable a portion of a taped statement that komisarjevsky voluntarily made to police regarding his 45 prior breaking and entering convictions, is only fair and just. There is no valid reason that this information should be " suppressed " and thus witheld from the jury. It is damning information to be sure, because it allows the Jury to follow the dots.

The evolution of Komisarjevsky's crimes is clear cut and classic. His history includes elaborate stalking of his victims, and behavior that is consistent with a predator. He committed those crimes and surely many others ie If he was caught for 45 break ins, with enough evidence to convict, how many other crimes did he commit that he did not get caught for?

As well, how many charges (crimes that he committed) were dispensed of within his various plea bargains in connecticut courts? This dropping of charges is standard operating practice in our courts, when a defendant is charged with multiple counts within the commission of one criminal "event" , let alone a string of events/crimes, as was the case with Komisarjevsky in two separate municipalities.

This is a man who planned and executed all of his crimes fastidiously, Despite what his attorneys and their hired psychologist have tried to sell this jury regarding Komisarjevsky's "cognitive issues" this is a shrewd calculating criminal who has no respect for the rights of other human beings. This is a standard feature of sociopaths. Plenty of people, including myself, have sustained multiple head injury's, plenty more have been abused in their lives and even more have had bad childhoods; They/ we do not commit "extreme sport" robbery's (komisarjevsky's own words describing his years of breaking into houses when the owners were home perilously close to danger) nor does this " make us" become pedophiles, rapists of children, and Murderers with no remorse.

I also must comment upon the defenses motions and the subsequent articles regarding these " letters" from Komisarjevsky's hand picked accomplice, Steven Hayes, The timing and the letters themselves sound like a complete device manufactured or solicited by Komisarjevsky and or his defense team. There are a few possible scenarios and all of them smell of atypical behavior by Mr. Komisarjevsky, a sociopath of epic proportion and his increasingly narcissistic defense attorney, Jeremiah Donovan. It would appear that quite some time ago, Mr Donovan began adapting personality traits from his client; deceptiveness, manipulation of the truth, (and in an oh so obviously timed fashion) and a desire to "win" at any cost.

I can easily see Komisarjevsky or his lawyers getting the bright idea to write letters to Hayes in prison, posing as one of those women that are sickly attracted to men that kill and men that are in prison. They would write several letters to Hayes, drawing him out thinking he had a woman on the line that was excited by dangerous men.

Then, within a few letters, Hayes would possibly begin inventing crimes in order to make himself sound more dangerous. The only problem with this theory, is the language supposedly used by Hayes in the one lone letter that somehow made it's way to the New Haven Register.

The other two letters read in such a way that Judge Blue claimed "would only seal Mr. Komisarjevsky's fate if they were entered as admissible: Apparently, they contain direct references to the Petit crimes and offer specifics citing that Komisarjevsky escalated the crimes into a triple murder, (and near fatal assault upon Dr Petit, whom he intended to die with the rest of the family in the fire.

Those letters, rather conveniently, didn't make it into the media's hands.

I've read Steven Hayes statement to police, I've also heard him speak briefly - he is not exactly an articulate, nor intelligent person. The language, and moreover the psychology, embedded within the one letter that fell into the lap of the Register, more closely resembles Joshua Komisarjevsky's style of verbiage, writing, and thinking - And thanks to komisarjevsky and his need for attention we have plenty to compare it to:

Komisarjevsky wrote voluminous"journals" and other writings seized from his prison cell, drafts of letters sent to writer Brian MacDonald first, second drafts all of which komisarjevsky knew would be confiscated from his cell which is why he started a "journal" His bogus story to Brian MacDonald about the night of the murders has since resulted in MacDonald's public admittance that he was completely manipulated and duped by Komisrajevsky throughout their entire correspondence and subsequent prison interviews

Judge delays start of Penalty Phase in Komisarjevsky Trial

Judge Blue made a succession of rulings today concerning the upcoming penalty phase of convicted murderer, Joshua Komisarjevsky's trial.

Komisarjevsky is the man who targeted the Petit family for the deadly home invasion in July 2007, initially following Mrs. Petit and her daughters home from an area supermarket on the day of the murders

In addition to being convicted on three capital murder charges for the deaths of Jennifer, Hayley and Michaela Petit, Komisarjevsky was also convicted of sexually assaulting eleven year old Michaela Petit who was in the rmarket with her mother when Komisarjevsky began stalking the family.

A surprising decision to move the start date of the penalty phase from this coming Monday to Tuesday was made by Judge Blue, in order to allow more time for attorneys to argue certain motions involved with this essential phase of the trial. After which the jury will decide whether Komisarjevsky will receive a death sentence for the murders or life in prison.

A decision that remains to be made is whether or not Komisarjevsky's prior criminal history should be suppressed within the Penalty phase which is really a trial within a trial. His attorney's are hoping to suppress their clients substantial criminal history of which 45 prior convictions for breaking and entering, Robbery's Larceny's were mentioned during the taped statements he made to Cheshire Police, after his arrest fleeing the Petit murder scene driving the Petit's family car.

There are problems for the defense inherent to either blocking the history or allowing it: - if their clients criminal history becomes admissible, the defense could try to use the fact that he never became violent within his many home break-ins as evidence that Komisarjevsky was "only" a career thief until he went on a home invasion with Steven Hayes. They could try to insist that this lends credence to the theory that accomplice Hayes escalated the "robbery" into multiple murder.

One problem with trying to sell this to the jury is the fact that Komisarjevsky was the one who targeted the family in the first place, alone without Steven Hayes. He was the initiating predator.

Komisarjevsky, the professional criminal known for his elaborate planning and foresight involved with all of his past crimes, wore and brought masks, zip -ties and other restraining devices, a look-alike 9 mm gun (which he gave Hayes the money after spotting the Petit women ) clearly intent on a different type of crime, other than plain house robbery. This crime was the natural evolution of all of his previous and dangerous breaking and entering into homes where lay sleeping or watching TV.

This crime revolved around sexual assault, kidnapping and taking control of an entire house, including two young attractive girls and their attractive mother. This is why he brought along burly Steven Hayes,: Komisarjevsky was 5' 11" and 130 lbs, he had been teased at the halfway house when bragging about the judge calling him a dangerous predator, the man taunting him that " he was weird and 120 LBS SOAKING WET and clearly no ones idea of a threat. Likely, this insult stuck in Komisarjevsky's craw for months.

It is interesting to note that for all of Komisarjevskys bragging at the time of his sentencing hearings he had made a statement feigning indigence over being called an animal by the prosecutor and a predator by the judge. Years later he would once again become loudly indignant over being referred to as an animal this time in an indirect sense when Dr Petit's modest memorial to his family on the date of their murders was published in the Hartford Courant. Through his lawyers Komisarjevsky loudly complained about Petit's reference to the animals that killed my family, actually demanding to officially challenge the memorial, this through yet another motion filed by his Defense Attorney Jeremiah Donovan.. Judge Blue, ever the pragmatist, rejected the request, citing that it was a short memorial in a paper and did not even mention Komisrajevsky's name.

Blue also wisely pointed out that the legal motion concerning the memorial had recieved much more media attention than the actual memorial itself, thereby making moot and vapid the assertion thatthe defense and the defenant touted that the memorial citing the evil that took my family" being" highly prejudicial"

Of course Blue was right, the defense was well aware that their motion would suffice, as the high profile trial was being thoroughly covered by the media. and every motion, no matter how ridiculous were being printed or linked to in the papers and on the internet..  As such they used an inordinate amount of toothless motions in attempts to manipulate the publics view.

Within his taped statements to Police, Komisarjevsky made frequent references to Michaela Petit , sickeningly referring to her by her family nickname "K.K", and describing a moment to the detective where he claims he" locked eyes with her" - This, while the young girl was tied to her bed, undoubtedly terrified .
This maneuver is classic sociopath behavior, inventing a mutual attraction with one's rape victim, trying to turn a sexual assault into something that sounds more mutual.

What I find extremely telling with this admission is that the pillowcases that Komisarjevsky claimed the men put on the heads on the girl's must have been off of Michalea in order for Komisarjevsky to " Lock eyes with her" This means that at that point in time, the idea of the girl i.d ing him was no longer an issue, as he had already decided she as well as the rest of the family were going to die. Even if he continued to wear his mask, his body type and voice were enough for this girl to make an ID to Police especially considering his reputation with the Cheshire Police.   As well, Jennifer Petit clearly had to have her pillowcase off in order to be brought downstairs make the phone call that komisarjevsky, the shrewd one in the pair, forced her to make to Dr Petits office claiming he was ill and would not be making his rounds.

Komisarjevsky admitted to lesser acts of sexual assault upon the helpless 11 year old, but forensics showed that he in fact sodomized the girl, a fact that he did not admit to police, nor likely his own attorneys at first. Sociopaths often lie, rather convincingly, to their own lawyers, wanting to appear more likable, less culpable to the person who will be defending them - In this case for his life.

The bottom line is that when he was arrested, Komisarjevsky had in his possession cell phone photos of half naked Michaela Petit and close up photos of the girl's private areas. There were photos of Michaela in various outfits, including a plaid skirt and a white top that resembled a schoolgirl, standard pedophile behavior.The clothing was found cut off of her body. Komisarjevsky had a long history of attraction to, and involvement with, girls much younger than himself. The mother of his child was fifteen when she gave birth. Komisarjevsky was 22 at the time. He knew that he had to tell Police something insofar as how he procured the pictures and he made the assault sound as innocuous as possible, not yet knowing how much if any of his DNA would be found, or even if the girls body was burnt beyond any forensic gathering.

Shown at both men's trials were text messages between the men hours before they met up for the home invasion that clearly showed Komisarjevsky as the leader, the decision maker, in fact he ultimately gave the written text nod to Hayes that yes, the crimes were going to happen. Text messaging between the pair on the night of the home invasion showed clear sexual inferences about the crimes, proving that sexual assault was a discussed factor in the crimes, if not the prime motivator.

A big issue with not suppressing Komisarejvsky's 45 robbery convictions. would be the fact that Komisarjevsky's history was far from that of a standard thief. His pattern and preference was to break into houses when the homeowners were home as opposed to most B and E robbers and thieves who wait until a house is empty in order to avoid possible confrontation with the homeowners. Interviewed acquaintances and friends of Komisarjevsky spoke of the young man bragging about the fact that breaking into houses with no one being home was "too boring" he spoke of" the rush" that he got knowing the residents were often just feet away sleeping, eating or watching TV.It is obvious that he got a sense of great power breaking into another person's private domain, their sanctuary, while they were home.

This is extremely telling insofar as the likelihood of eventual criminal escalation. In fact, the last Judge to sentence Komisarjevsky noted this very point rather emphatically within his sentencing remarks, stating that Komisarjevsky was a dangerous predator that posed a serious risk to the people of Connecticut. He specifically cited his habit of breaking into houses while people were present in the home and Komisarjevsky frequent use of tools like night vision goggles used to stalk his victims before finding a weak entry point in their house. An open window, a door lacking a deadbolt or as in the Petit case, a basement or Bilco door.

Following this reasoning the judge gave Komisarjevsky a 9 year prison term with 6 years of special parole, making a point to say that including the Parole, Komisarjevsky would be" finished with the Department of Corrections by the time he was 36 years of age if he basically towed the line and used his time in prison wisely. Tragically and maddeningly, despite the judge and prosecutor's conscientious sentencing, Joshua Komisarjevsky actually served just over two and a half years in prison, before being transferred to a Hartford halfway house where he met Steven Hayes, his future accomplice in the Petit murders.

Hayes was a middle aged man who had been in and out of the prison system his entire life, mostly in"; Almost all of his small time bungled crimes revolved around a crack habit. Komsarjevsky on the other hand was definitely not an addict, but he was remanded to a halfway house for offenders whose crimes were fueled by addictions.

Komisarjevsky claimed to Police as well as his parent's that he broke into their neighbors homes in order to buy drugs, claiming at various times to be on cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana. As there is no evidence of addictions to meth or coke, this was obviously more manipulative behavior by a budding sociopath, using what he knew about Connecticut's judicial system attempting to receive leniency from police and the courts, eventually becoming eligible for recovery - based halfway house residency, a house where 12 step meetings were mandatory work was encouraged and random urine tests insured "compliance" and readiness for the outside world.

This got the offenders out from behind bars sooner and some, like Hayes, couldn't resist their newly found freedom, returned to using drugs while living at the house and failed a urine test. He was sent back to prison only to be paroled 5 months later. Even he was incredulous when the parole board announced that despite his failing a drug test and getting bounced back to prison they were going to give him early release just the same. Komisarjevsky passed every drug test while in prison and as far as he got on Parole.

It is a well known fact among career convicts that inventing a drug habit or exaggerating occasional drug use (such as Komisarjevsky's intermittent marijuana use), will only help them within the Judicial system. Defense attorneys are known to encourage their clients to cite drug use as a motivating factor in their crimes, in efforts to dupe prosecutors and judges into lighter sentences.

On top of all of this, Komisarjevsky's prison time was mostly served in solitary confinement, largely due to his own complaints of harassment by other inmates. His mother, who like his father appears to have been a major enabler of her son's criminal pursuits, then made complaints on Komisarjevsky's behalf that he wasn't getting enough recreation time among other things, which was only a direct result of her son being in protected "solitary", exactly what Komisarjevsky asked for.

After less than three years, he was given early release parole by the Connecticut Parole Board who made their fatal decision, as they did with all parole decisions at the time, without the inmate present (called administrative parole) nor with the benefit of his criminal history in front of them.

They had a singular report of Komisarjevsky's last arrest, and with that alone, Joshua Komisarjevsky was set loose, having bragged at the halfway house that he'd been called a "dangerous predator" by the judge.

On that Judge's mind, when he made that statement, was Komisarjevsky's unusual history of stalking behaviors, watching his victims through night vision goggles and such prior to breaking into their houses. Perched in trees and crouched in bushes, he'd watch his B and E victims, sometimes for hours. This behavior was in effect a pattern of a budding sexual predator. What used to be called Peeping Tomism has since been discovered to be a serious precursor to serial rapists and murderers. The prosecution could easily point out all off this if Komisarjevsky's prior criminal history is admissible.

Several other key decisions were made in today's hearing in New Haven,  including the seating of the prosecution and the defense as they make their statements to the jury. The defense made an unusual motion to switch seats with the prosecution, who traditionally sit closest to the jury throughout any trial. Jeremiah Donovan made a request today specifically requesting that when it is the defenses turn to make their statement, that they be seated directly in front of the jury,( this echoing an earlier motion prior to the start of the trial where the defense wanted to sit in front of the jury throughout the trial. )

Also requested at that time was for the yet to be convicted Komisarjevsky to sit in such a position as to "face his accusers"  ie lone survivor and victim of his near fatal baseball bat assault, William Petit Jr. a man whose wife and children Komisarjevsky targeted and killed.

The practical reality of the defenses seating request is that they will have to switch seats with the entire prosecution when it is their turn to address the Jury. Judge Blue, no doubt giving a lot of leeway now in order to avoid making any decision the defense can later try to use in an appeal or mistrial request, allowed the unusual seating request. Michael Dearington, the States lead prosecutor, did not object.

Also approved was a motion made by the defense to allow a complete hour for an opening statement at the start of the penalty phase. Prosecutor Dearington appeared to shake his head no, but did not officially object, most likely thinking how over the top it is by standard court practices. However, over the top has been the defining style of this defense from pre-trial motions on. They have been extremely aggressive toward the surviving victim and his family and over zealous with a ridiculous amount of motions, many of which have been nonsensical and clearly designed to harass, manipulate and wear down the surviving victim, his family and the prosecution.

Judge Blue remarked that although an hour was a lengthy amount of time for an opening statement, he would allow it, claiming it just fell within the rule book's parameters.

A key issue that was brought up earlier in the Komisarjevsky trial was a motion by the defense to keep their Penalty Phase witness-list sealed from the public and thus, the media's view. Claiming that exposing their witnesses to possible harassment and/ or media attention could pose danger to the witnesses as well cause the witnesses to pull out of testifying the defense had managed to convince the Judge to seal the list earlier in the first phase of the trial. The issue was to be re-addressed before the start of the penalty phase:

Today, Judge Blue agreed to keep the list redacted for the same reasons that applied before, particularly as some of these out of state witnesses are approaching the date when they are expected to testify. These defense witnesses are undoubtedly character style witnesses for Komisarjevsky, some of whom the defense believes will convince the jury into sparing the convicted Komisarjevsky from the death penalty that the State rarely pursues.

Jeremiah Donovan used the hearing to make yet another motion to remove the death penalty as a possible sentence for his client, citing it's unconstitutionality, this is the exact same motion he made prior to the start of the trial. Judge Blue expectedly rejected the motion, mentioning that he had ruled on this exact same motion once already. The defense stated that they were reiterating the motion in order to make as clear a record as possible for the higher courts and future appeals.

Connecticut Law Tribune: Tale Of Two Executions...

A very good article by Karen Lee Torre of the Connecticut LawTribune regarding the death penalty.

My only wish is that writers op-ed and otherwise would leave political parties out of any discussions and /or arguments regarding the death penalty. It only reduces an extremely important issue into something less by attaching liberalism or conservatism to one "side" ie opinion or another.

I would like to remind folks that although Connecticut is considered a "blue state" every single poll* taken regarding the issue of the Death Penalty has consistently shown an overwhelming majority of our residents want to keep the death penalty as a prosecutorial option for the worst of Connecticut's capital crime cases, such as the Petit family murders.

I am now an independent, but was a registered democrat for most of my adult life. Many of my friends and acquaintances are democrats, yet almost without fail, they have shared with me that they wish to keep the death penalty as an option for criminal cases where egregious brutality and cruelty are involved. However, almost all voice their frustration with the unworkability of our current Death Penalty "system" citing the need to rid the current system of the ludicrous amount of appeals that cripple the states ability to actually impose it once we have given a defendant a fair trial and a convicted murderer the right to appeal where there is any true question of doubt.

What is ludicrous, and I hear and read it frequently, is the argument that we should simply get rid of the death penalty because of the aforementioned fact that it is currently so unworkable. This is dangerous slippery slope whose logic if applied to all criminal sentencing would be disastrous.

Our legislators need to change the current limitless appeals process and place time limits between a death penalty sentence and it's imposition. Appeals need to meet valid strict, requirements - period. We are already a State that is extremely cautious about our pursuit of this, our most severe sentence. It is clear that as a people, our state wishes to retain the right to pursue and impose this sentence.

Joshua Komisarjevsky Found Guilty on all 17 counts re Petit Family Crimes

Thank God that this Jury was intelligent enough to sift through the detritus thrown out there by the defense attorneys, and wisely and carefully traverse Mr Komisarjevsksky's accountability, charge by charge, weighing the evidence and in the end voting what their instinct and common sense told them.

I personally felt that Dr. Petit and his sister, Mrs. Chapman, were being extremely generous and gracious while addressing the media regarding Komisarjevsky's defense attorneys and thier horrible tactics both in and outside of court: In watching the video above, one can hear both of them saying something to the effect that the Komisarjevsky attorneys were much more "aggressive" and... "tough on them " than accomplice Steven Hayes attorney's Thomas Ullmann and Andrew Culligan.
Mr Ullman has been quoted as saying that Komisarjevsky lawyers would be fools to pursue the same tact that they did within the Hayes trial, as it clearly "failed."

I distinctly remember being disgusted at Attorney Ullmanns use of the word "tact" as if his somewhat understated approach to the Hayes trial was a decision that the defense "team" made, rather than a situation borne of sheer necessity. The fact of the matter is that Hayes was a horse of an entirely different color than mastermind and leader Komisarjevsky.

It was apparent to anyone paying attention that Steven Hayes was deteriorating emotionally and physically in prison, In the end, he decided that he wanted to plead guilty for his part in the crimes, which he indeed tried to do, seemingly with no advance notice to his lawyers at a pre-trial hearing. Needless to say his attorneys led by Thomas Ullmann leapt into crisis control, threatening to do whatever it took" including a shocking promise that he and the other attorneys would break the cardinal rule of attorney/ client privilege, meaning he would betray confidences between Hayes, he and any and any other professionals involved in the case, if necessary in order to hinder Hayes from " committing state assisted suicide"

Over the years, this over-used lawyer's lament and the hypocrisy that fuels it has become more and more impotent and tiresome; All of the intended melodrama behind those words and moreover the concept, has seeped out, thanks in part to the typically left leaning residents of Connecticut becoming more right leaning insofar as the issues surrounding crime, justice and public safety.

Thanks to the high profile nature of the Petit family crimes and several other similar crimes that occurred over the same one year period, folks have become more aware of violent crime and moreover how our court systems enable it to continue with what has become a revolving door system designed to infuse money into a crippled and oft times corrupt- criminal justice system. Bottom line: citizens of the state are fed up.

Interestingly this same statement regarding state assisted suicide was thrown out repeatedly by anti-death
penalty propagandists for serial killer Michael Ross; His surprisingly many legal and legislative proponents,
men and women, who, despite Ross's own wish to be given his just punishment for raping torturing and murdering dozens of women and young girls all over Connecticut insisted that their personal philosophy was more important than state law, not to mention the convicted murderers repeated request to be given his legally rendered punishment for the many crimes which he had admitted to and been convicted of.

Ross was not surprisingly the very last person to be executed in the state of Connecticut by the state's approved mode of execution the extremely humane, lethal injection; In other words, the convicted man or woman is put to sleep, something far more humane than it's capital punishment predecessor, death via the electric chair.

In any event, Steven Hayes desire to take responsibility and thus, accountability for the crimes he committed seems to be something that our state's system inherently will not permit via a variety of built in judicial roadblocks and over zealous public defenders who behave as if culpability is a passe notion with no place in today's criminal justice system, no matter how much pain and torture a convict has admitted to perpetuating against innocent h8uman beings.

His lawyers managed to talk him out of pleading guilty. However, I personally think that there was an uneasy compromise that was struck between defendant and his lawyers, and as such, the attorneys including usually pugnacious and sometimes quasi rabid Ullmann was forced to tread lightly within Steven Hayes trial arena. Naturally there were the usual armchair pundits watching the proceedings, or reading the soundbites in real time on twitter saying things like " Where is the Thomas Ullman we know....Why isn't he attacking someone, anyone more vociferously?"

Besides the fact that he was dealing with a recalcitrant defendant/client, it is many attorneys opinion that with such brutal and tragic crimes as the Petit family murders, particularly when they involve the rape and murder of a child... attacking the surviving victim and the grieving family, as not only ethically repugnant, but also a bad legal tactic which usually backfires further vilifying the defendant in the Jury's eyes by association.

The bottom line is that Steven Hayes seemed experience some regret for his part in the crimes, even if a good part of that regret was regret over where the crimes had landed him, and the dismal proposition of a future in a solitary cell in prison for 20-40 years. While it's true that Hayes spent much of his life in prison, it had always been for non violent crimes and as such he'd always been afforded the privilege of mixing in with the general population; work detail and exersize socialization, classes and opportunities to obtain GED's and changes in his daily activities.

Because of the nature of the Petit crimes, involving rape and murder of children, and given the fact that the crimes resulted in stricter rules for Statewide Parole and early release programs, both Hayes and Komisarjevsky were placed in solitary status for thier own protection, from the very first day they were in prison. Komisarjevsky, as expected, showed a full blown sociopath's 's lack of conscience straight through the reading of the guilty verdicts. He did not betray one bit of emotion when the guilty verdicts on all 17 charges were read aloud - in fact he even yawned as he stretched his legs, preparing himself to leave the courtroom.
This is exactly what I would expect from a sociopath and a narcissist of his ilk; a staunch refusal to betray any emotion, particularly fear or disappointment, especially in front of Dr Petit and the Petit family.

It has become abundantly clear via the convicts prison writings as well as his own attorneys tactics that Komisarjevsky has delusion ally come to view Dr Petit as his Nemesis; He actually has the audacity to harbor hatefulness toward Dr Petit as well as calling out the sole surviving victim of his carnage on several occasions now; My opinion is that Komisrjevsky hates Dr Petit for surviving the crimes in the first place, and becoming in effect the sole witness against him; also Dr Petit's refusal to be conned, manipulated or strong armed by Komisarjevsky, his attorneys, or "Restorative justice firms" just one of several disingenuous soft pedal approaches used by the defense early in the pre-trial process.

Remember, Komisarjevsky has used manipulation throughout his entire life,( including throughout the aftermath of these horrible crimes. with surprising degrees of success. When he cannot manipulate or deceive, he is akin to a petulant child.

In the end, I believe that it is Dr. Petit's strength and determination to carry on, to not give up despite how tempting that has been, to bring forward the charity and the kindness of his wife and daughters, this, has in effect reduced Komisarjevsky and the banality of his "evil"to nothing.
The evil that fueled these tragic crimes has not lasted; the pain is still lingering, naturally but the good that has sprung forward is immeasurable, thanks largely in part to Dr Petit and his insistence that Jennifer, Hayley and Michaela's best qualities live on and on, as they continue to help those who need it the most.

My guess is that this guy's attorneys prepared him for the strong likelihood of a guilty verdict, on most, if not all, of the charges - this, despite their shameless attempts to degrade and slander the surviving victim and his family, in a fashion that was reminiscent of the techniques once widely used against rape victims up until the 1970's;

Komisarjevsky's lawyers surely knew that he would likely be convicted due to the excessive evidence against him; His own detailed but contradictory statements to Cheshire detectives, a veritable electronic record of his crimes, from stalking Michaela and her family at the Cheshire Stop and Shop, right through his sexual assault of the little girl, which he tried to freeze in time on his cellphone as a permanent sick trophy. And worst of all the damning testimony of Komisarjevsky yelling down to Dr Petit don't worry... " it will all be over soon" right after the sexual assault and murder of Mrs Petit, using what Dr. Petit described as a very sinister tone. In fact that tone is what convinced Dr Petit that the man who had been using fake reassuring tones prior to that point in time, was getting ready to slaughter he and his family.
This alone proved intent, as well as completely disproving the notion that the defense did their best to muster up, that Komisarjevsky was" in a panic and frozen when his accomplice Hayes raped and murdered Jennifer Petit, this after Joshua Komisarjevsky had just helped him to tie Mrs Petit up, including tying a rope around her neck!

His words and that taunting telling evil tone belies any and all claims of being in a "shock like state unable to stop anything or even help the girls by untying them. "

IE Joshua Komisarjevsky told police that it "didn't occur to him" to untie either of the Petit girls when he was asked this simple question by the interviewing detective; That one utterly incriminating statement, along with his sinister taunting to the then gravely injured Dr Petit, who lay crumpled tied to a pole in the cellar, bleeding profusely having just heard terrible thumping and moaning sounds that he feared was his wife, completely nullifies the defense's assertions that their client was some kind of hapless, helpless follower, unable to stop the real killer Steven Hayes --is just insulting to our collective intelligence.

The defense has asserted over and over, that "Joshua "merely wishes to live out the rest of his life in prison,and cites, that he still has much to offer the world; This will likely to be their mantra during the upcoming sentencing portion of trial. Attorney Donovan indicated today that their intention of continuing to pursue this same concept of blaming the other guy will continue well into the penalty phase of the trial;
Again the subject of a clutch of letters that Steven Hayes supposedly tried to send an unidentified woman in prison purportedly claiming to be responsible for 16 "kills" date rapes, is evidence that the lawyers intend once again to Mr Hayes probable role as the heavy within the crimes during the sentencing.

As Judge Blue stated when denying a motion from the defense stop closing arguments and to resume the defense, the letters, are unable to be substantiated; multiple state police and FBI cannot find any murders or cold cases that fit the claims, and most of all, the letters Judge Blue claimed are highly prejudicial to Mr Komisarjevsky, as they blame him for the entire escalation of the Petit home invasion, citing that the letters if introduced would seal Komisarjevskys fate.

Waiting for the Komisarjevsky Verdict

The Komisarjevsky Jury began their second day of deliberations in New Haven Superior court at 10 AM this morning, and there has not yet been a verdict nor one single note passed out of the Jury room all day.

Yesterday, the jury began deliberations at 11:45 am after being given their charge by Judge Blue late Tuesday afternoon: They passed one note out of the Jury room to Judge Blue after approximately an hour into deliberations, asking for clarification regarding whether Komisarjevsky had to be found guilty specifically as an accessory or a principle on each capital charge.

Judge Blue sent back a note indicating that they did not have to specify accessory or a principle simply whether they found Komisarjevsky guilty of each of the seventeen charges against him, including the capital charges which carry a possible death penalty.

I am personally surprised that this jury is taking so long to convict Mr. Komisarjevsky, who is clearly more culpable than was his accomplice, Steven Hayes. Hayes was tried last year and his Jury took just four hours to convict him.

Jury deliberations in the trial of Joshua Komisarjevsky began this morning after a roller coaster of a day yesterday wherein the Komisarjevsky defense motioned to re-start their entire defense based upon three letters allegedly written by Komisarjevsky's accomplice Steven Hayes, supposedly written to an unidentified woman, mentioning a number of " kills" and date rapes that he claims to have committed in the northeast over some years.

Considering Steven Hayes bumbling history as a crack fueled thief, getting caught at every turn for the smallest of crimes, he surely would have been caught long before his "16th kill", if he had in fact killed before. This is in complete opposition to the extremely practiced, wily and shrewd Komisarjevsky, whose criminal history is much more akin to what profilers would expect from a rapist or serial killer; He had a history of stalking his victims, using night vision goggles from various perches on his victims property, this is a classic prototype for a sexual predator, and considering Komisarjevsky's proven ability to elude authorities or even suspicion by authorities for many crimes, it is much more feasible that of the two men he would be likely to committ and ecape detection for certainly date-rape and quite posssibly murder. . Komisarjevsky also had a penchant for stealing women's lingerie, and other trophy's from what were in effect, home invasions that were incorrectly labeled and charged as breaking and entering before Connecticut made it's laws more precise regarding this type of dangerous crime.

Komisarjevsky admitted freely to a personal preference of breaking into homes while the homeowners were in the home - this fueled his excitement he proclaimed. He also has a history of arson as a juvenile setting an abandoned gas station on fire as well as stalking and harrasssing a teenaged girl who he would spy on from trees outside of her bedroom. This was described by a Cheshire Police officer who was friends with the young girls parents.

It is fully substantiated that Komisarjevsky broke into well over fifty homes before being caught by Police for just a portion of those. His arrest for that portion led to his disclosure of others in hopes of cooperating with police in order to get a lighter sentence. Within his interviews and letters to writer Brian MacDonald, Komisarjevsky brags that he committed hundreds upon hundreds of home break-ins that Police still had never tied him to.

Judge Blue, who apparently read the Hayes letter, denied the defenses request to renew their defense, citing that the claims in the letter were unable to be corroborated, (area police reportedly stated that they do not have cold cases that match Hayes purported claims in the northeast area, nor unsolved date rapes) Blue went on to say that the letter, which blamed bitterly blamed Komisarjevsky for of the escalation of violence within the Petit home invasion, would only be highly prejudicial to Komisarjevsky if it was introduced, adding that it would have "sealed his doom."

For all any of us know, Steven Hayes could have been writing to a type of woman who is drawn to men in prison who they see as dangerous and/or wounded and have a sick type of attraction to. The phenomenon is hardly new it is well -known in both mainstream and forensic psychology and has reared its ugly head from what seems like the beginning of time.

Richard Ramirez, the night stalker, unbelievably had a constant gaggle of female admirers in court, many of whom he'd actually smile at and wave to from his seat at the defense table throughout his entire trial. Here was a man who committed multiple heinous sexual assaults and murders of women all over the city of New York and yet, there was clearly many female admirers drawn to the notion of either saving such men from evil, imagining themselves to be the "one" woman who the misunderstood murderer falls in love with.

The motivating factors for each of these woman may vary but the hard facts are clear; many serial killers have a bevy of interested women and sometimes men, who will write them and try to get close to them, even if it's strictly titillation with the concept of a dangerous man.

The bottom line once again is that the Komisarjevsky's defense attorneys knew the letter was not substantial enough to rate a sudden cessation of a trial that had just entered it's final arguments stage; However, in what has become their defining style, the defense threw out skewed, bogus or uncorroborated information, knowing that the press and the jury, would hear about it and hopefully draw a conclusion that they have been aiming for:doubt regarding the guilt of their client Joshua Komisarjevsky, again
singularly by painting his hand - picked accomplice as the "really" bad man who turned an innocent home invasion into multiple murders despite reams of evidence to the contrary.

After approximately one hour of deliberations, the jury sent out a note to the judge asking if they find Komisarjevsky guilty if they must specify him as a principle or an accessory within the crimes. Blue sent back instructions that they did not have to make such a distinction in the guilt phase. The Jury returned to their deliberations
